Dark Universe actually makes me want to visit this theme park, it looks like it will be amazing!
Universal seems to willing to tackle the darker themes, with ‘Dark Universe’, while Disney will not do anything with the Alien, Predator, Apes etc. franchises, since they are not considered ‘family friendly’. As Universal keeps moving forward, Disney is getting further left behind. What a waste. If Disney does do a fifth gate, they will need to be willing to take more chances and recognize that the ‘family’ is not just the little kids in the family.

Planet of the Apes literally would fit perfectly into Animal kingdom
Disagree - “dark universe” doesn’t mean that’s it’s going to be for adults any. The wolf coaster looks like a family ride, and I doubt the dark ride is going to be much more intense than the Harry Potter equivalent. Alien and Predator are significantly more adult themed than vintage Dracula, mummy, Frankenstein, etc. The latter probably won’t be much different than tower of terror in terms of creepiness. Neither compare to the face huggers and chest bursters of alien, for example.
And let’s be honest, that’s just one land. The other three are based on Nintendo games, how to train your dragon, and Harry Potter. And besides the main coaster, the hub just has a giant carousel.

When I was a kid growing up, I was obsessed with Universal Monsters. I read Frankenstein and Dracula and would peruse TV Guide to see if any channel was running any of the monster movies. Once in a while, our local movie theater, which was once an old Vaudeville theater, would run some of the Universal Monster Movies and my friends and I would go. I always dreamed of this. Now it's actually happening.
I know I'm going to have to take a trip when it opens! Can't wait!!!

Go Universal. Kick that mouse to the curb. Disney is asleep at the wheel. We haven't had an ALL NEW park since... Disney California Adventure. A whole new park is something to behold. I got to see EPCOT in 1982 and 1983. It was gleaming and smelled NEW and it was all goodness and light.
The parks going to have two awesome roller coasters that’s everyone will want to ride those lines will be insane if they are really as god of rides as they say they will be

Cool video. I just hope Dark Universe will have the likeness to the actors that played these iconic roles. I don’t want to see generic Dracula’s face all over the ride, merchandise, and advertisements. Give us the Bela Lugosi’s and Boris Karloff’s of Universal Monsters.

I went and saw the pics of the designs and that absolutely killed my interest to be honest. They look like generic Spirit Halloween costumes. It’s Universal’s own theme park ride, how hard is it for them to get the iconic looks? I guess that’s why the part of the park is called Dark Universe and not Universal Monsters.
@@randomkillerx2157 from what I understand, the idea is that all the universal monster movies actually happened when they were released, so many many years have passed since then. Henry Frankenstein's face can still be seen on a portrait in his manor, but it is now his granddaughter Victoria Frankenstein who is a mad scientist, with her own monster. I'm not sure what the explanation behind Dracula is, if I remember correctly he died in the movies, maybe he also had a descendant with the last name Dracula? Or he was somehow reborn? Either way they definitely took him in a very different direction than the Lugosi version of Dracula.

Are you talking about more recently? Because the dark universal movies were a smash hit back in the 1930’s. Especially Dracula, 1931.
