Since both armies have the same military experience, both of these armies originate from the Soviet army, and both are fighting in a positional war, and therefore have the same fortress level. but only the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have 5-10 times more artillery (the main item of losses in this war) and 5-10 times more aviation (the second largest item of losses).
And yes Russia is battling with their equipment but ukraine uses any equipment they so sometimes they aren't familiar with all things that equipment is capable of unlike Russians
