01/05 civic master and 02/06 crv slave Is the same part that ktune uses. If you wanna save money. Available on Amazon for 50 for both. Add a braided tuck clutch line, and you have the same kit. As always great video. Recently did same thing on my tsx. Element looks way easier.
I had the line between master and slave leak on me in my ‘06 CRV. I can drive without using the clutch but with stoplights getting going with the starter is sketchy. First time I got stranded. Replaced the line and back in business with 286k. Love your work Eric!
Great to see you back! Very informative vid. I have a 9th. gen 6MT Accord. 139K miles and I want to keep it running for as long as practical. Might need to seek you out as the car (gracefully) ages. Thanks for all the insight - excellent stuff.
I'm not interested in all this complicated ICE car stuff anymore having moved on a few years ago but its great to see you back Eric and yours is the only channel I'll still watch. 🙂
Eric, for me this is your first real comeback video. Shame to see the view count is just not there yet, but if there's any way you can regain your RUclips-momentum, I would say it's by creating more of this kind of stuff
I always attach a clear piece of hose to the bleed nipple and loop it up and into a bottle. With a case like this with new parts, you could stick the other end into the res and just pump away.
Interesting you decided to make a video on this because as a matter of fact, I am having the same exact issues with the clutch pedal on my 2005 CR-V. I do know that the previous owner had the clutch hydraulics replaced, but I don’t believe that the hoses were ever done so I’m definitely going to replace those. I’d also like to upgrade the rubber hoses to stainless steel-braided lines as well. But I am having that creaking noise when releasing the clutch pedal from inside the car and I’m also noticing that there is an audible squeaking noise coming from outside the car as well whenever you depress the clutch pedal. When I first bought the car, I did remove the clutch pedal assembly and sprayed down the innards of the release spring with lithium Grace and that did seem to help but now the noise is back again, so I’m thinking the slave cylinder and possibly the clutch master cylinder may just need to be replaced yet again, so that’s great. Anyways, maybe I’ll install the same kit that you got for your element.
The kit I used is linked in the description. If you use antisieze, like I did in the video, on the slave cylinder end, that should help get rid of the noise.
The clutch master from a 2007 EM1 Civic is a direct replacement and doesn't have the damper w/ bolted cover. The units with a damper tend to fail prematurely- a known issue with Honda Element/CRV (2nd gen)
The problem with most aftermarket parts like this is that they provide DIN metric fasteners, instead of the OE style JIS metric fasteners. DIN 8mm thread uses a 13mm wrench, as opposed to JIS that uses the 12mm wrench. I can’t stand when they don’t take the time to actually source and provide the correct JIS fasteners.
That's not the only thing stuff when cold. My back got sore just watching you. Bench bleed... before you install, some are so painful to start when installed.
That's what I'm doing when I initially start pumping the pedal before I start bleeding. I find it easier to do it in the car rather than dripping brake fluid everywhere during installation. Also, I find bench bleeding to be more necessary on brake master cylinders over clutch master cylinders. Thanks for the comment.
Driving a 2013 Fit with that weird auto manual Honda came out with. 266 thousand miles still kicking though 3rd or 2nd gear shutters at times forget which does it so random I am usually not paying attention
This maybe the sign to replace the clutch master on my 1997 honda civic, i got also the clicking noise, and it's so annoying, i can literally remove the clicking by adjusting the pushrod without having any play but the pedal feels is not my liking😅 so i'm just gonna replace the master like you Eric cause i'm so annoyed 😅
Eric, Love your stuff. I recently purchased a 5-Speed 2007 Honda Element and am looking to have the clutch replaced along with the master and slave cylinders. On the Element Forum. some folks have talked about replacing the OEM Element CMC (that is designed with the delay shifting valve) with an 2001-2006 Civic CMC for the same reason you went the K-tuned CMC on your Element (no triangle delay assembly valve on CMC). Also, several folks have had problems with one of the three assembly bolts on the OEM Element CMC failing, leading to immediate clutch failure and requiring install of a new CMC. Have you heard of this type of swap for the CMC (Civic for original Element)? I wouldn't mind better performance with additional reliability. Thoughts?
If you leave the old slave cylinder in place, I'll bet you the firmer pressure that the new master cylinder generates will blow out the old, worn-out seals in the slave.
When Eric starts posting again: "My friends. We've come home".
Eric, I'm an OG fan. been here since the beginning. You've inspired me for over a decade. keep doing what you're doing.
Thank you!
Me too, Eric taught me how to have confidence in doing repairs on my own car, whenever i watched his channel i learned alot.
NICE TO SEE YOU BACK ERIC
WHAT THE HELL MAN! No explanation, no grand re-opening, just "Yo, Eric here!"
Good to see ya man!
Thank you! It wasn't exactly like that. ruclips.net/video/oRaht0vpizc/видео.html

I bought a hybrid racing master and slave kit with braided like for my civic shifts like butter!🤙🏽
I miss your live stream watching from South Africa
YESSSS. ETCG repair videao!!!!!!!1!

About to do this on my C6 corvette, thanks for the tips
That fancy tool might help you on that one. Some clutch systems are harder to bleed than others. Good hunting.
Yes, a new ETCG video!!!
Nice job, good editing.
Eric! You're doing it wrong! Just kidding man. Good to see you back!
Nice work Eric

Indeed most are ok, but some can be a real pain to get fluid in before they make any type of suction.
It’s been many years since I seen one of your videos, dam you’re getting old 😂

What is a master cylinder
How do you get a oil change in a Honda
hey Eric, is that your new shop?
His home garage probably 😊
I wish. It's my home garage.
.... Watson???? Did I hear that right?
Yes.
21:00 I can’t help but notice at the very end of the video it’s @erikthecarguy with a k instead of a C
Happy to see videos, don’t get me wrong lol I just noticed
Thank you! I'll have to pass that along to the editor. Somehow I missed that.
