Hey, Lathrix, I've been playing Stellaris on Console, and I know I have the Endgame crisis turned on, but it's passed year 3000. I was also able to invite a fallen empire into a federation. Any ideas?
FP empires are like space Nazis, an endgame crisis the game starts out with (given how fast they snowball if not quickly neutralized upon finding the first neighbor) and also one of the trickiest since everyone will snowball in response to you- but very fun when combined with Become the Crisis ascension.
Incredibly lucky and tame start. Every single time I play I start with a fanatical purifier and a Fallen Empire practically on top of me. I've been blocked in more times than I can count.
I watched this before reading the description, and I didn't notice any lethargy. I went back and watched bits to check and I still don't see it *shrugs* Maybe it's because most of the time I don't know what's going on on Stellaris, but I think it was an entertaining video. I hope things continue to get better for you, Lathrix!
Suggesting again a David Brin Uplift series run. Humans with secondary species to represent uplifted dogs and dolphins, 50% of the universe start as Advanced Starts, max fallen empires, increased primitive planets. If you read the wiki on it you can get a pretty good idea of the sort of series it is, humans as a new species managing to qualify as an 'elder' species because they uplifted a species on their own planet, whole galaxy works on a sort of patronage system with elder species uplifting primitives and basically vassalizing them.
Have the end game crisis start at the very beginning of the game. It's not if you can survive, it's how long? note, it would be okay to make sure your empire start is nowhere near the location of the endgame crisis to make it at least possible Advanced AI starts are allowed Large galaxy preferably End game crisis has to be at least 1x Any of the 3 crisis are allowed, i'd recommend scourge Crowded galaxy prefered event crisis.10(Scourge)1000(unbidden)2000(contingency)
I've a suggestion for a game. The poo-lord collective. Hive-mind, Blorg images, and (most importantly) you must select 4 red racial traits and ONLY those 4 red racial traits. Genetic modification is free game. The start must be 4 reds though.
Challenge idea: start as purifier, once you have destroyed one empire, remove the purifier civic as soon as possible, if you have a xenophile faction, embrace it, this is where the real challenge begins, you have to be in a federation at the endgame.
I love Prikkiki-Ti, the little lizards are my favorite species and I made a bunch of empires with that portait always as descendants of some escaped Prikkiki. I have a spiritual fanatic purifier empire "The Holy Convent of Prikkiki-Ti" , I have weak, pacifistic and fanatic materialistic "Trikkiki-Pi" and a subversive company cult living on habitats "Cult of Krikkiki-Li". Oh, and spiritualistic pacifists "Mimimi-Mi".
I love how Lathrix explains that fallen empires don't claim territory and the next second of the video shows a the chunk the fallen empire owed as unclaimed territory xD
I continue to think you may want to consider adding the "Crisis Manager" mods so that you can opt to make mid and end game crisis even more potent. Such as having *all* the end game crisis possibilities happening at the same time, on the extreme end of the tweaks you can do. Or make both the mid and end game crisis start even earlier, up their potential threat even more, ensure the war in heaven if desired, and so on. There's quite a bit you can tweak for challenge purposes with all of the various managers installed.
I remember when I used to play Stellaris whenever I started a Fanatic Purifier play-through I *bordered* no less then a fallen empire and 3 other empires. Closed on all sides and immediately attacked. Always.
I played as determined exterminator. Opened Gate L, and once I reached a another part of galaxy, I found out Prikki-ti controlled 1/3 of the galaxy. Funny thing, I had about same size Empire as them. Didn't know they spawn every time until now
The only problem with this is that you literally will have no pops so you will not really be able to produce that much compared to other empires. Well this is if you go clone ascendant( i think?) for as much fire rate as possible
I have an idea for a challenge, but I don't know how difficult it'll be. Try and only, and I mean, ONLY use a federation fleet for any kind of outside-of-your-boarders attacking and such. You can have your own ships, but unless they are a part of the federation fleet, you can only use them for trade-value guarding and/or guarding your own empire.
Still think you should do a Imperial Robot Nobility challenge run with Gigastructures; take Aristocratic Elite/Mechanist, aim for robots/syths and the creation of an Eternal Queen Matrioshka Brain, and only have vassals/protectorates rather than allowing any tributaries. (Feudal Society as third civic might help with this/make it more interesting, but might not be needed!)
my best ever start was robotic exterminators penned in by two fallen empires. I had a full third of the map to myself before i could break through the Fallen Empires and by then it was just a slaughter.
Hey, what about Krikkit challenge? Rules: 1. Play only on one planet (habitats and ring worlds do not count). 2. Play with mechanists civic. 3. Play as Fanatic Purifier. 4. Have maximum amount of fallen empires enabled. 5. In the galaxy MUST be the Sol system. 6. KILL EVERYONE!!!
Regarding getting the Boal, imagine my shock when I started my "Big Green Mothers From Outer Space" playthrough as a peaceful tree of life origin hivemind, and used the relic for the first time only to find out that rather than accepting their new Tree brothers as fellow workers, my hivemind automatically rejected them and started purging them as soon as they showed up on the newly created Gaia world. I really didn't see that coming. I'm still not sure if it was the Brain Slugs doing, or just how Hiveminds naturally react to other hiveminds.
You could do a challenge where you cannot have a standing navy, all military corces must be mercenaries or built during wars and sold at the end of the war.
Here is one random idea for a modded run: Start by making a Fanatic Egalitarian species. Why are they Fanatic Egalitarian? Because they still have instincts in the direction of being equals due to formerly being part of a Hivemind! This whole species is a distant node of a Hivemind that spontaneously evolved individuality. But now the HIvemind wants they back/destroyed! Make the Hivemind with the "same" species and force it to spawn as an enemy. Use mods to have it start in a really powerful starting system or cluster, possibly mods to make Hiveminds stronger in general since they are not all that good right now.
I'm kinda a new player and i would honestly love to see how you manage your mico manage stuff. i struggle to deal with all the planets and never get my research anywhere near where you do. i'm happy if i reach 4k by end game, so seeing how a seasoned player does it would help me a lot.
How about a 1 system challenge? Basically only being allowed to settle in 1 system, but you can settle on every planet in that system. You could either do it so that you have to stick to the starting system, or you could allow the very early game to explore and find a suitable system to inhabit, at which point you would have to abandon your starting one.
Challenge: all other empires are advanced starts but the endgame starts 25-50 years into the game. You can set the difficulty for the endgame to whatever you'd like.
How about purifying a galaxy with the multiple crises using "Crisis Manager" mod? With the mod, you can have all 5 crises factions (Scourge, Contingency, Unbidden, Aberrant and Vehement) spawning at the same time and enjoy a 5x5 crises. Don't forget to use Starnet mod to improve AI empire aggressiveness~
(Unfinished) Utopia Challenge Run - Species - Standard any species (no robots, hive minds, nor corporations etc.) - Everything for the population should always be up such as lifestyle consumer goods and such to MAX (ie wasteful). - Never do anything to make your population angry or sad, ALWAYS HAPPY. - All populations in your empire are free and happy and equal - Constantly expanding - Constantly at war with empires which are unethical who practice purification, devourers of the universe, or even those who practice slavery. - Complete conquest to bring more INTO THE UTOPIA and must conquer the entire map before endgame(no vassels or tributaries) - (Any more suggestions? and plz like for him to see)
Life-seeded genocide. (13:13,20:30,29:45,1:10:50) 11:00 Isolated start. 38:48 It's good that the severed Prothean head you have is keeping the Hanar happy. 1:19:25 Stealing galactic wonders. Are the Prethoryn fans of your channel or something?
Most of my gameplays were purifying fanatics, I really hated the putting claims system to be able to start a war, and that you are mechanically blocked from declaring war based on "because my troops have trespassed on your lands" reason. :D I really wish there was a way to be able to invade anyone anytime without having to be hostile to everyone since day 1
"They're a nice salad!" Lmao!! Also, it's too bad you couldn't have expanded the other way rather than where you went. It'd have been humorous to see the majority of the AI empires sandwiched between you and the FP AI.. you consume from one direction, them from the other. You meet in the middle and ignore each other to wipe out the others before focusing on each other. ;-)
It's too late now, but just in case you don't know and have the same problem later. You can change the crisis difficulty rather easily with save editing.
Rules below, but first..

Hey you should do only resource development and you have to be nice to every single faction
Haven't started watching but.... LIKE
I imagined them picking out a xeno out of a xeno tank and saying I want to eat that one
Stellaris from Lathrix? Just take my views, likes, excitement and adoration right MEOW!
Yes!! More stellaris
That x1 scourge was so strong lathrax just rage quit
Challenge: all other empires are advanced starts but the endgame starts 25-50 years into the game. You can set the difficulty for the endgame to whatever you'd like.
How about purifying a galaxy with the multiple crises using "Crisis Manager" mod? With the mod, you can have all 5 crises factions (Scourge, Contingency, Unbidden, Aberrant and Vehement) spawning at the same time and enjoy a 5x5 crises. Don't forget to use Starnet mod to improve AI empire aggressiveness~
(Unfinished) Utopia Challenge Run -
Species - Standard any species (no robots, hive minds, nor corporations etc.)
- Everything for the population should always be up such as lifestyle consumer goods and such to MAX (ie wasteful).
- Never do anything to make your population angry or sad, ALWAYS HAPPY.
- All populations in your empire are free and happy and equal
- Constantly expanding
- Constantly at war with empires which are unethical who practice purification, devourers of the universe, or even those who practice slavery.
- Complete conquest to bring more INTO THE UTOPIA and must conquer the entire map before endgame(no vassels or tributaries)
- (Any more suggestions? and plz like for him to see)
Basically the imperium of man but geekos
game rule, market reliance, all resources (bar energy credits) must only be attained through events or the market
Finally! Back to stellaris..!
It'd have been hilarious if you ended up encountering the event-spawned Prikkiki-Ti while playing your version. lol
You mean like when he was playing as the Scourge and got the Scourge as the end-game crisis?
Life-seeded genocide. (13:13,20:30,29:45,1:10:50)
11:00 Isolated start.
I really wish there was a way to be able to invade anyone anytime without having to be hostile to everyone since day 1
Multiplayer game would be awesome. Of equal skill.
any chance you can redo this challenge in today's stellaris??
*BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD*
sometimes its about the journey an not the destination
Heyo have you thought about revisiting cosmoteer its gotten a bunch of new content and mods to checkout.
If you do another one of these, try doing it with the default determined exterminator. Same rules, you're just the machines not the hangry geckos.
I wish this game had mechanics that made splitting fleets a non stupid move. A simple thign would be to make pirate way more anoying
Finally some more stellaris WOOOOOOOO!
1hour 4min... Crab rave. Very epic.
Do From the depths
Fun fact: a prikki canonically stands at 25cm
"They're a nice salad!" Lmao!!
Also, it's too bad you couldn't have expanded the other way rather than where you went. It'd have been humorous to see the majority of the AI empires sandwiched between you and the FP AI.. you consume from one direction, them from the other. You meet in the middle and ignore each other to wipe out the others before focusing on each other. ;-)
It's too late now, but just in case you don't know and have the same problem later. You can change the crisis difficulty rather easily with save editing.
Do the prikki spawn like a standard empire, or with some major benefit
