What a coincidence(?). I JUST decided I want to finally properly learn this song just a couple of days ago and I started to look for tabs. And all of the sudden this pops out. Thanks. That was easy. Now the solo. ;)
Haha,, I’m still a Music Man endorsee and still use the same Axis. This Ibanez I’ve had since I was 18!! I recently had it sent up and bought back to life and I’ve been using it on a few videos.
@@SixStringAlliance cool nice to see an old skool RG well looked after. and great to see you doing lessons on here as during my time at Bimm the two best tutors there were Guthrie and yourself (man that is going back nearly 20 years now haha) I remember you always wanted my BC Rich bich with the woman's ass painted on it to rock up to one of your function band gigs. (wish i kept it my self now lol)
@@SixStringAlliance i would like to see a lesson on that tapping lick you used to do at the end og the intro piece you did for the lick library lessons you did
Great riff 🤟 is that the vintage or modern mode on ch 2? Sounds awesome with the post effects!! Would love to see some pantera dime lessons or licks, and some lessons on how you approach soloing or riff and song development… keep it up
@@SixStringAlliance would love to see that, there’s only a couple decent ones that are recent , most are over 5 years! Would love to see a condensed version of multiple tones u can get out of it similar to what you did with the Fillmore, thx for what u do Jamie 🙏🤟
@@josephfranks1685 I think for my channel something smaller. But who knows for MESA. We had planned some stuff but everything is on hold whilst they transition to Gibson.
This riff is very reminiscent of “Panama”, What other riffs do you think have a strong Eddie Van Halen influence?

I’ll probably look at the full track with in the Six String Alliance academy. Lots of video to make!!
@@SixStringAlliance Yes please look at the full track Jamie that would be awesome! wanted to learn this properly since about 1997!
Always wanted to learn this song. Thanks for this extremely well done lesson Jamie! - Jeff.
Thank you!!
Great playing and tone Jamie. Definite Van Halen influence on this track. Another heavy EVH style rythm track is XYZs inside out i remember as a kid.
I’ll have to check that out!! I’ve got a few more to look at
Jamie with an Ibanez every lesson with you when I was at BIMM in early 2000's it was always a Music Man Axis

Brill Jamie as always the real deal
Thanks!!
Great lesson 👍👍👍
Cheers Paul
Great lesson jamie! Loads of fun to play. Can we have a part 2 for the rest of the song!
Thanks Scott. I need to find the time to do some more in-depth Steve Vai studies, although im not sure my technique is up to it!!
@@SixStringAlliance jamie, if you can't do it, there's zero hope for us
I have a 1990 Ibanez RG 550 with a PAF Pro in neck position and super distortion for the bridge…
Nice!! Ive had the PAF Pro's in this guitar since 89/90
I saw it tabbed as the 7th string tuned down to A that open plus the 7th and 9th fret
Well here its arranged for 6 string so those who don't have a 7 string can play it.

Thank you.. I’m using the vintage mode on the Mini Rec. I should really shoot a demo of this little as as it great!!

Don't discount the influence of Jeff Beck's "Blue Wind" on this song as well.
Love Jeff Beck!
Grande tocco jamie
🎸🎸🤘🏻🤘🏻
It’s played on a 7 string!!
And here its been arranged for 6 string.. not everyone has a 7 string.
The 7th string doesn't figure heavily into this song. In fact, Dave Wiener plays 7 live, but Vai plays this on 6 string when performing.
It just doesn’t sound right on a 6 string.. Too many repeats on the delay. Eventide gives you that multitap delay that cuts very uniquely..
Sounds perfectly fine to my ears
