Northwest Passage is just one of those songs that should to be sung by everyone listening... And then comes The Longest Johns, and what _should_ becomes a _must._
This past hour of listening is without question the BEST hour I've spent in a long time. I'd fly from Oregon to the UK to hear you live (had I the $). Thans for your music.
These guys are amazing live. I don't like concerts but I went to see them live 3 months ago and I had the most amazing time. Can't wait for them to come back to the states
This was a truly superb performance by one of my favourite bands. I feel privileged to have been in the audience, and again the following day. Off to see them again tomorrow!
Great artists and a brilliant performance. I could listen to these guys all day (whilst sipping whiskey of course). 😉 Edit: They're British? I guess I'd never heard them speak, I thought they were Atlantic Canadian.
@@cakeandmilk4526 They're a bit more like Dropkick Murphys, rather than High Kings, who these guys generally remind me of. Either way, I love the whole Traditional/Rock/Shanty/Punk situation. ;-)
Thank you so much for filming and posting this! I doubt I'll have a chance to see them live any time soon (am from NL) so this is a great way to experience their performance! Thank you!
Hey! Worth keeping an eye as they're already talking expanding their current tour (Smoke & Oakum) to Germany after France - so worth tweeting and seeing what they reckon about NL!
TURN ON AN XBOX OR PC, LOAD A GAME CALLED SEA OF THIEVES. RAISE ANCHOR, BLAST THE LONGEST JOHNS. FIRE SOME CANNONS, SINK SHIPS, AND JUST HAVE SOME GOOD PIRATE FUN!! THEY KICK SO MUCH ASS.
Disrespectful crowd or unappreciative? IDK, but very disappointed I could hear them chatting away. If I was lucky enough to see them live (and I'm just down the A38 from Bristol..) a captive audience you'd find in me. As always - a fantastic performance me boyos. Yarrr!

How the whole crowd didn't die laughing at the first utterance of "Moby Duck" I will never know.
The "row ho row how barbecue the beast" always kills me, it's way too funny

Can't wait to see them support bellowhead in November!
Yep! They were great in Falmouth (Sea Shanty Festival) last month and I'll be at the Birmingham Bellowhead gig too ☺☺☺

I've already purchased tickets. Second best thing to seeing them in an Irish pub. PS I'm a sag, too. tee hee!@@SagittariusFire4
I could watch JD perform all day. He just radiates pure passion for the music every time he's on stage.

The Northwest Passage was as amazing as ever! :D
Agreed! Having listened to many, many different artists sing this, I've found no-one does it better than these good laddos 🐙

I've listened to the Longest Johns sing Northwest hundreds of time, and yet it still causes chills

Glad you appreciated their performance. Wish your fellow festival goers were as respectful as you ♥️🐙⚓
I am loving the Stan Roger's rep 😁
Hoping for at least two Stan Rogers' tunes when the boys play NYC in February!
I don't know how I never thought of how great a live performance of these guys would be...
The bass🤤
They performance are truly superb
Exactly!
it's actually uncanny how much like the recording they sound
This is my favourite performance ever

I think a bit was cut out of the recording.... perhaps a "non music" bit?

has to be the rudest audience Ive ever endured on a recording!
