Bread ahead was really bad for us too! We didn’t like them AT ALL. None of the flavours had any flavour + we spent quite a bit of money on sad ew donuts :(
I love bread aheads doughnuts recipe.. I'm from the states so I have to make them myself but the brandy bay leaf custard is heavenly and the dough itself is so light with a nice chew! Too bad they weren't good from the shop. 😢

I'm not sure if the custard recipe is on there but it's like a basic pasty cream but you infuse the milk with bay leaf and I always add the brandy last, after the custard is cooked.

I agree with the Bread Ahead view, I tried it many years ago after seeing pics all over the internet. Looks phenomenal and in theory you'd assume it would be delicious but honestly the filling was horrible and the doughnut itself just too doughy. I hate the fact I brought a box of them, couldn't finish it and had to throw it away.
They are ehite and look healthy. So sorry, we don't have a meth problem in this country so we actually maintain our own teeth instead of requiring falsies
