He's not a clueless nitwit however I think the insane quality within that squad and his excellent man management coupled with simple, clear instructions that suited them as individuals and as a squad was what made them special. I think Barcelona was the best team and real madrid was a close second.

Of course, luck has something to do with every CL winner but many people, especially Barca fans are overstating the luck factor.
