Hey mate. I've got one too. Has the x stamp and on the other side has the PLUMB with USA underneath and 4lb under that. All quite small ~1" x 3/4" space. Great axe.
Nice restoration and chopping. She definitely works! I wasn't aware that some Kelly's were marked with an X but it makes sense. I saw a similar one on Trade me awhile back that sold for over $200.

Thanks! Yeah the profile and the steel quality are very good. I didn't know about the Kelly X stamp either, now I will be on the lookout for them.
Hey, I believe 99% that that is a Kelly. Kelly used a x stamp on a lot of axes and there’s a lot of examples of it.

I love a good no-name axe thats bought cheap & forged well....possibly by a smith that didnt have strict pattern rules to follow.
