      Yea I use metal zone for a Biffy Clyro sound it's great. U just gotta know how to get a right tone with the dials

      @@willcrump yeah, it also sounds pretty great, weirdly enough, if you put it in your effects loop rather than before the preamp. idk why, it's such a weird fucking placement for a distortion pedal, but it sounds pretty cool

    1979 i used 2 of that exact tape player to bounce/layer songs, 4track reel to reel was 1200 dollars used. I wish i could hear them now, rubber band bass, dog dish percussion, doubled acous guitar, chanted lyrics. Total shit, but now probably so wierd as to be kind of great. or total shit

    you dont get enough views. I was listening to a song from my friend and I's weird vibes playlist and I heard a slinky reverb. It distinctly sounded like your video. the lazery sounds on the guitar echoing. It was the coolest experience knowing I know that sound cuz of your channel. Keep up the good work dude!!!

    Another idea (and something I have actually made) put a kalimba on a solid board, and glue a piezo disc on the board to act as a pickup. Plug that into whatever- I like an envelope filter with distortion and delay. 🤩

    Hmmmm magpie how about a tibetan singing bowl cassette player? I feel like it could be combined in an interesting rigg. And the lowfiness would be badass! You'd also have a percussive element as well as the singing ringing!

    The only thing I'd have considering changing would be to put a slim light metal box on the cassette player drawer and repositioned the mic.
    If you didn't have a slim box you could've also extended on your original plan with the metal plate but used two plates, separated with washers where the screws are, to try get the plates to resonate with each other and put a piezo mic on one of the plates, as you're right about the plastic, it's got no natural resonance or tone so it's rather TOO LOFI to be usable but I suspect Hainbach could work with it 😂

    I can never get a song together because I love all the parts of sound separately as an individual. I slow it down speed it up, add effects to each sound just to hear them. It has gotten so I cant really listen to music because I just want to hear one sound at a time.

    It would probs be too much work, but... if you could carve some wood to to shape and replace the cassette door with you'd likely have some better resonance.
