Thanks once again to Whiteland Restorations for the car being featured in mid-week update. And for the help too. Life is so much easier with the kind use of.the ramp guys.😁
That's my old A240GLT. First and second owners. It still has the street parking knocks on both rear panels. Almost bought I back a few years ago. Good to see it still on the road with some great upgrades.
Hi all loved this video I had a car with a prop shaft vibration and had a new prop shaft made that fixed 80 percent of the vibration but not all of it. In desperation I pulled the pro shaft and removed the rear extension housing off the gearbox and what I had was a worn Busch/ bearing in the rear housing. I replaced this and longer had any vibration. When I looked closely at the front universal joint the input shaft also had a slight wear which I initially did not see. Hope this can eliminate another possibility for you Love your car and the video great work..
I’ve almost seen most of the build as clayton lives a few doors down from me. It’s definitely a sleeper!you got that correct there 💯. Can’t believe the car I’m watching right now is his. I’m worried 1 day this is going to pop next to me in my ST and make me look like a donkey 🙈 🚙 💨 Keep up the good work Clayton bud 🤩😍
Super nice turbo 240T. If the owner is looking for a stronger quibo you can use the one for a BMW M5 from the 80s. I think it would be the E28 version. Good luck with the car and keep the oversteer under control!
By the way the bmw bonnet strut remined me of when i worked on an old 5 series, was about to go to lunch, just had to check something on the motor, kind of bent to look and here comes the bonnet, smacked me in the back of the head, me gaping over the fender chipped both teeth and paint, walked into the lunch room spitting blood and my boss laughing his ass off. 😂
Had a 940 turbo, with vibrations, the former owner had everything done about it, balancing of prop shaft etc. Last year I needed to change the clutch plate. It was than that I found out that the clutch plate installed was a non turbo one, I rebuilded it with a diesel flywheel and clutch plate and the vibrations were gone…….
Nice to make a well-functioning car with all the parts sought together. I once had a 240 2.3L station wagon, a very nice car. Did I see Monica standing on her wheels?
Has he separated the two halves of the prop and put them back together at any point? They have to go on the splines the right way or the whole prop will be unbalanced.
@@WhitelandRestorations might be worth getting some adjustable reaction arms from martin leaf (Viking fabrications) anyway. Try another prop altogether to see if that fixes it, then at least you'll know if its the prop or something else altogether
We have a points system here in the UK, the car has not been significantly modified... Ie engine change so it's just an addition that you have to declare to the insurance company.

This conversion is my big aim for years. What a fantastic car! I love it!
That's a super nice setup.
Sure is! What a noise too!

Oh my, just as my 240 GL was. A bit less playing around in the bottom end, but it was a handfull! Great work!!!
This was my dream build for a while, but gave it up for a family instead. Worthy trade :)
Very worthy trade indeed!
Enjoyed it! Good story, nice folks, and... Gladys! 💥🤗💥
Fantastic video well done . Fron north wales.

Super awesome build, lovely job Clayton! Was very weird to see Lewis away from the workshop, for the first time ever?! 😄
He's a hard worker. Someone had to give him a break.😁
Sometimes he leaves the building.....it's a rare event 😂
If it was an estate, it would be the perfect car. Very nice.
You can still fit four bodies in a saloon boot 😂
@@WhitelandRestorations And you know this how exactly? Remind me to always pay you quickly.
Absolutely tremendous cars - I’d almost wage one of the best cars ever offered to us mere mortals! GLT estate for me!!
Hard to beat aren't they!
Maybe check the pinion angle? Bad pinion angle can cause driveline vibrations. Adjust with adjustable torque rods. Way cool sleeper Bro!
That's first on the list to check!
I have an angle gauge now so will dig into the pinion angle setting.
Gladys Elton the legendof the west.
I needa speak to this fella!
This is a great build! I didn't catch if it was mentioned, does Gladys have the stock transmission?
Gladys has a M90 box now. She has a few juicy upgrades and more to come!
Nice to make a well-functioning car with all the parts sought together.

Standing on her training wheels 😂
Has he separated the two halves of the prop and put them back together at any point? They have to go on the splines the right way or the whole prop will be unbalanced.
Not since it's been professionally rebalanced. Might be an issue with pinion angle?

Wow👏👏
Swap out the guibo. I had a similar issue and it was breaking up but, only once it was off the car was it evident.
drifts and lifts added a video about adjusting the prop shaft for volvos about 7 years ago?
I'll check it out. Thanks.
Nice turbo brick.
She sure shifts!
Thank you.😁
I love your 240 videos
Oh by the way here's one; "oh this made me so glad-y' s .. sirs " heh 🤓
I defo need to up the engine power on my 2.0GL
Whats the fuel consumption?
Always fancied a lexus v8 240
How does it compare to
THE 240 FOX ??? or was you a bit to young to remember.
FOX 484V. Yes Dane. I remember that legendary 242.😍
The Vovoid 🤣
Dann from dw autpkonsult did the chips maybe?
Kärlek!
A 240 GLT has no turbo though. How does it pass inspection in the UK? Or is it a 240 turbo to begin with? Cheers from Sweden.
Easy, we're allowed to mod our cars here. As long its disclosed to insurance company its fine.
We have a points system here in the UK, the car has not been significantly modified... Ie engine change so it's just an addition that you have to declare to the insurance company.
All declared to Lancaster Classic Car insurance. And you wouldn't believe how reasonable the price is.
Love old bread van volvos but the chat was boring ...
