Yes but still impressive nonetheless, all of your mods and many others impress me, the best I can do is some basic code in python, and some basic models in blender.
That's an interesting story. In Brazil, in 1969, there was a prototype built on top of the Beetle that had a flat-8 engine, essentially a combination of two flat-4 air-cooled VW engines.
Now that's something interesting. What car used it?

brazilian kitcar maker Puma actually built and tested a flat 8 that was basically two 1600cc vw engines welded to each other. It ripped, but was too expensive for production.

I have to recommend a book to you: A-Z of Kit Cars by Steve Hole. It lists basically ever kit car maker and model from the UK since 1949. It was published by Haynes 10 years ago, so it's quite hard to find at not ridiculous prices, but is a fantastic read and great resource book.
The trick to rear engine cars is to brave and never fully lift off the throttle.

Automation exporting taught me one thing, for balance in rear engine always use bouble wishbones in the rear, and McPherson strut in the front, this can cause unwanted understeer but i find ots usually was better balanced than just one or the other.
most cars didn't have that back then, hence why swing arm, and de dion tube existed

This car looks like a automation mod made in 10 minute from 3 years ago, not only that but it looks like a meme build.
I kind of felt that too, but it's a little more contiguous than an automation car's fixtures

haha I often use the replay function, but only talk about driving from the cinematic cam when i actually drive from it lol
Initially, the rear of this car reminded me so much of Porsche 356b. I actually wish someone made that car for BeamNG.
that was the starting inspiration for the car :)
I like kit cars too, I love the 1966 Shelby AC Cobra, small and powerful.

Fillman the Madman back at it again with yet another great idea. I totally agree with the whole kit car idea. Some are extremely underappreciated. Hopefully this mod continues being developed tbh, it looks really neat.

As a Mech. Engineer, you can enhance your driveability quite a lot by moving the fuel and water tanks to the front and making the rear track narrower. Keep the tyres, but narrow the track. ;)
Fuel is at the front (kind of defeating the purpose of rear engine lol) , it’s air cooled, and I would have thought a narrower track on swingarm would be a bad thing
@@fillman86 Having a rear engine doesn't mean that you need to have a rear-heavy car when the tank is topped. All good cars (no matter the engine's placement) when in race condition are between 50-50 and 40 Front - 60 Rear. For front-engined cars is more common a 45 - 55 split.
Yes, technically it would be a bad thing having a short swing arm, but... man, you can put an anti-roll bar there, to prevent the car from jacking. Just don't make it too stiff.

@@fillman86Your problem is not inertia, it's the rear track being too wide and inducing a lot of oversteer, as I told you before.

I like to think more about lore whenever making a car in automation, and then I build to the theme. I just brought that to this car too :)

@@fillman86 I found a kit car that was basically ready, just needed to be assembled, everything there, for a reasonable price, but by the time I was able to get home and get in touch it had already sold. Shame, never see the promotional material with them 😭

@@fillman86 I was referring to when you were mentioning about wanting to mess around with the audio files, but couldn’t because they weren’t accessible. I had mentioned it because in that reply I had had made on discord there is a solution that could help you make a flat 8 sound by using a ghost engine as a second b4 sound. I can help you with the combustionEngine and vehicleController files if need be and with the ghost engine as well

This is what you get when you combine the buggy with. Datsun and a Miata and slap a flat 8 into it
Filman, doing a double jo8nt rear suspension can fix the camber issue on the rear tires, and will give you better traction
yes, but back then CV joints weren't great, so they tried to avoid them. The other option was uni joints, but they had issues, so they often went with swing arm suspension like this
You should look into AngeTheGreat's engine simulator. You could've configured your own engine, then copied sounds at various RPM and whether under load or not, then ported it into beam. I've seen people do it before, too. Heck, you could've even built it a certain way to produce a certain power figure and curve and then you could've ported THAT into the beam files, as well.
I used to use it but it was way too hard -_-

Honestly…….if you want to make beamng even better, though it may take a long time, you should make the best tank mod there is with good details, great engine sounds, (u could probably use the T-series motor) and other great details. It would be cool to a a M1A2 abrams in the game not ganna lie. Also I love your videos keep up the good mod work

Wasn't the problem that you copied a FRONT suspension and steering setup to the rear, but the REARs work differently????
Not really, I just forgot a few nodes, the version that is up currently is fully functional
If you're having problems with controller stick drift I recommend increasing deadzone and linearity
deadzone is garbage, and tbh doesn't work with the wild amounts it varies... plus this is a wheel type stick, so it's going to be so much worse

probably the pickle, followed by the miramar. I think this is influenced by the lack of real aero that makes realistic racecars unfeasible
I fillman Hope ya well. any tips on how to get textures to show when I export my automation car to blender? getting fed up of just seeing gray
hmmm automation doesn't do things the way that beamng devs do it so you're better off just going to the material's section in blender, and changing the colour values there (though keep in mind that this doesn't export to beamng)
oh ok so if I change it in blender it will make it easier to see but it will keep the colour that it has beamng. that is still helpful I guess, I shall give it ago. or I want to be able to do for now is tidy up the body and inside. thank you again for replying buddy. you really do help me and my channel out a lot and I really thankful.@@fillman86
