How Farms Work YAYYY thanks Ryan I need to get one
Received my T-Shirts today, they look great! Thank you Ryan
hey I have a question don't you guys have like a drying machine that can dry out the beans faster
How Farms Work Ryan what was your favorite part of 2017?
...and that's a HECK of a way to make sure we watch tomorrow's vid
sounds like the beans are ready! I love the excitement from the first field of the year. We are going to get into the field as soon as the sun will come out. Have a safe harvest
I believe I commented a few days ago, don't worry about the date, run them when their fit. Guys running beans in north central Ohio like wild. As for the rains , can't worry about everything. Enjoy the harvest!!!
Moisture in the lower teens must be great for you. I bet you're glad you got at least this batch in before the rain came yesterday. Edit: great cliffhanger for tomorrow's video.
I was wondering all day yesterday how this worked out. The HFW marketing department is brilliant!
Now that's good old fashion farming just the way to do it yall fellows will run a long time
congrats on 112K subscribers!
Hopefully the weather stays in your favor great vid stay safe Kusters 👍
Nice teaser at the end!
Very nice video Ryan. Hope fire does not hurt the combine much
T-Shirts and bands landed yesterday Ryan, Fantastic, Thankyou :):)
Oh Grasshopper, you have much yet to see. I have taken beans off mid-season that were dry and the stems where so green the field looked like it was planted in wheat and the wheat was starting to come up. I've been at this game a long time and I think I've seen it all. Not a chance. You ask yourself, how many curve-balls can Mother Nature have up her sleeve. For me, 50 years and I still see stuff I've never seen before. I'm sure there are 60 and 70 year guys who will back me up. File the experience in the back of your mind so you can remember harvesting beans with green stems years from now and your decisions will be much easier. BTDT. KIT d
We have a 9870 but i like the old one we had i was just like yours my granpa loves the new one
overcooking steering hydros. Yep, the joys of those pumps..
we had the back of a combine start smoking from a bearing get hot a few years back, hosed it down for 45 min, replaced the bearing, let it sit overnight and started picking the next day. about 4 hours into the day the whole back end of the machine went up in flames.
Hope the combine didn't burn up. We have about 6 in of rain in the last week. Not good. We have plenty of rain this summer and this is a little much. On corner of my corn field had about 5 in of water standing. Should be interesting chopping.
BIL nearly lost his 9600 to a fire this year... one of the chaff spreader hydraulic motors must've burned up, because it got SO hot that it was dropping burning chaff onto the field... they noticed some little burned spots in the field and some little fires scattered here and there and stopped to investigate and found one of the two chaff spreader hydraulic motors was SO hot that it was starting the chaff on fire. They watered it down and put out the fires and then disconnected the thing and just ran the rest of the season without it. Dunno if he's gonna fix it and put it back or not.
Guess it depends how much trouble he has in the spring with a swath of chaff left behind the combine grain shoe...
Later! OL J R :)
I was operating a combine when it started burning. Luckily it was minor. Water pump pulley seized and burnt the fan belt off that ignited dust.
Great video.. Your very good at editing. Love the big blue.
Great vid Ryan I can't wait to get in the field and harvest but we got about 2 inches yesterday so that will hold us back more sadly 👍
oh boy that freaking cliff hanger dho lol
Nice you were able to get some beans out early
Wow, I hope the combine is alright!
Hey Ryan , another great video 👍🏻
Well looks like you may possibly be getting a new combine sooner than expected
That is called Green Stem Syndrome. I'm seeing it a little bit here in south east Michigan too. Last year was real bad with green stem.
Does it feel good to finally harvest something
We're running 12.5 moisture and 56 avg bushel an acre
About time for the combine demo to come lol
Hi from Bryson geffre it is only 51 degrees here in south Dakota Ryan and Travis I love watching your video's
Bryson geffre where ya at in SD if ya don't mind me askin? We're down in SE SD
Ross where are you at? I'm around the brookings/brandt area
Ross W. I am by Warner south Dakota
Tyson Frank my grandpa is down by beresford. I love going to brookings as well I may add. My other grandparents have the railroad running through their backyard there 🙂
Ross W. Were do your grandparents that have the train in there back yard
Great video Ryan, thanks.
Finally we are getting to watch the beast eat
Our corn down here in Iowa is ready to go
Go make a insurance payment! Hurry! Lol
How many hours on the combine Ryan?
Hi...great vids !! Do you guys normally get enough snow to snowmobile ? If so, do you or Travis snowmobile ?
Hope all is well. How are yields looking? Earlier, I know corn was looking rough, how about beans?
Up here we should be done harvest by now... just barely started
Wasn't it December last year you were still running?
November 8th we finished last year.... after the snow melted off it we were lucky to get 2 unusually warm days in November and it dried up enough... But normally Mid Sept we are finishing up.
Great video! Why do you plant your soybeans so far apart? Where do you live?
What if you ran the subsoiler to let whatever moisture comes soak in really well?
Im in indiana on a friends farm harvesting beans we started monday
Ryan was it actually a fire or did something get very hot?..
Kevin Willis you will see tomorrow 😋
Over here in England we had the samething with the crop being ready and the stalks still green on the Rape and Wheat
Will Zealand definition of rape it's a force of sexual assault not a crop
It was also like that here in Sweden
Carsen Culpitt... en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapeseed
My point is proven....
Oh so it's canola?
talking about breaking down when you first start to harvest is like going to a drag race and talking about rain. party foul Ryan...
I received 4 inches of rain yesterday.
Nice video!
Be careful binning 90 degree beans.... if you turn the fans on at the wrong time you will lose a lot of moisture.
Well shit that aint good with the combine fire! Hopefully its not anything too bad and just a small one
Hello, my friend, I love your vidios. I'm an agriculturist here in Brazil. Here we are going to eat the platio of soy. A big boulder for you. Short of more your vidios.
Love the videos! Keep em' coming :)
You need a 853a Been Head
Are beans are still turning in Minnesota
Do you have to calibrate the yield monitor every year?
How often do you use irrigation?
Combine on fire no good I seen a lot of them go up in smoke.
When are y'all gonna get a new combine
Hey Ryan, we need a school teacher report. Can we get one here or should we go somewhere else?
+jbm banter School teacher report?
Have you ever thought getting a John Deere rotary combine?
the brakes were dragging and got hot that's my guess
the combine is on fire? that is going to be an interesting video
somebody was drinking ,look at that head lol jk good vids
RIP cliffhanger !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What maturity group are your beans?
We are still 2 weeks shy of harvest if central Illinois. Bean are going to be ready before corn. Harvest 17 hype
What are you harvesting?
What type of beans are they ?
Sounds like you guys need to find a different elevator... whoever is running that one wouldn't last long around here, that's for sure! When the grain is ready to come out of the field, they BETTER be ready to take it... otherwise guys will just pass them by and they'll find themselves out of business before long! I know that the elevator has to close SOMETIME and that they need time to dry the grain and transfer between bins and stuff like that-- our elevators here typically run til 8-9 pm during harvest season, or even later if it's "crunch time" til about 10 pm... Course our grain here is mostly coming out of the field dry or darn close to it and only needs a couple points of drying to get it down where it'll store safely. Harvesting with my BIL in Indiana has been something of an education on that score-- grain coming out of the field in the mid-20% moisture range or even higher is pretty typical, and with the higher yields up there it's not surprising that the elevator closes at 6-7 most nights... gives them time to dry what came in today before opening up the next morning at 7... We cut and load up the semi and the auger cart and roll the tarp on everything and are ready to run the semi into town the next morning to unload right after they open.
I just don't see how they manage to stay in business running "banker's hours" at the elevator there, closing at 5 or whatever like you've said in other videos...
Later! OL J R :)
My Pappy has a 9500 combine and he had the engine blow up on him ...... But that's been a long time ago
Mommy To 3 we had a 9610 blow up on us
Cracked the head and let coolant in
Drew Tibert yikes
what year is that combine
Left the park brake on maby
Damn cliffhangers.......
We saw the sun. Last day from beeing away for a month
Why do yall run such a small header on that size of a machine?
+guythattrolls That’s all it can handle. It’s only a 9510.
Still a decent size machine. I am guessing that is around a 20-22ft header? we have 9500's heandling 26ft cutting milo. Machine takes it like a champ. CTS by comparison is close if no smaller even though the thraster is totally different running a 24ft header in rice.
i think because of how a lot of their fields are terraced that a larger header would make the combine too unmaneuverable to be worth the less swipes. Just my 2 cents on the matter.
Their header is fine for that combine...9610s usually run 30 ft headers
How could you leave us hanging like that
12:00 lol compaction, what is that.
OMG WHAT!!!!!!! NO. NO IT CAN'T BE
We have a fire in ours
Green stems=cuts harder,more head loss,replce knife sections sooner=more work(sigh)
Combine fire?? WHAT THE HELL!
Were is jamie
James Berry follow her on instagram and find out
Oh... did not like that cliffhanger, talk about a major test run. Hope nothing major and was just from built-up material that was insulating on those hydraulics.
Is that the main hydromotor on those JD's?
Hey I would like you to come to our farm
When you say beans you mean soybeans right?
I new that son of a bitch was not sounding normal, what the heck happen?
Please take the front duals off you don't really need them
Anybody else see the rat run along the top of the cart?
+Michael Baumgardner That was the rolling tarp opening lol
