Crazy enough to literally look at a human and think of "He is my work in physical form" and just teach him how to continue his legacy, but in a very mental and not skill form. Like maybe Hwei was already insanely skilled so he didn't need anyone to teach him how to draw, but rather what to draw, so in a maniacal Joker-Harley type of way maybe Jhin saw it that he needed to break him and push him into this despair as a mentor so that Hwei can become something like himself. So in that way Hwei also becomes art from Jhin

Hwei most likely has 3 forms of abilities(skillshot, aoe radial and aoe line) and 3 types of abilities(support, damage and cc). Ultimate appears to also have some kind of recast system(notice that he expends mana right during the animation when the ult already landed on jhin)

Jhin and Hwei originated in Ionia, Hwei found jhin and an artist temple where they bonded over art.
Jhin decided his art would be better if painted by a gun and shot up the temple traumatizing Hwei ( and betraying him in that sense )
since then Hwei is expressing his sorrow and pain from the event ( jhin shooting up the temple ) and expresses it through art.

I find this character very interesting. Not only is the whole "light vs dark" subject something that fascinates me a lot, but the fact that Hwei is an artist with the ability to create endless possibilities is something that I like as well. I might not be be a painter, but I love to build with Lego, and I have a lot of appreciation to all those who build or are artistic and creative in their own right.😊

nah they are all quite simple but the fact that there are 10 of them is a problem, he can do pretty much everything except dash. his abilities dont even make sense, they are just randomized abilities from other champs mashed together.

I’m getting the tortured artist vibe from Hwei, though I’m curious how Jhin’s whimsical/homicidal artist vibe managed to inspire Hwei
because in jhin's eyes hes not killing, he's creating art. literally what they portray in the cinematics is what jhin sees. We see the killing he see the art he is creating.

The bullets are imbued with magic. They don't always turn into flowers tho but they are designed to look pretty even to the eyes of a normal if they can look past some corpse parts. You should read Zed comic

His in-game model and splash are pretty different in feeling. In the former, he looks more pragmatic and has a more rough look. In the splash, he looks very graceful and meditative. I prefer the latter.
Definitely. He looks sad, slumped over and walking without purpose in-game. It's definitely part of the character, but in the splash art and the animated parts of this cinematic, he looks graceful and eleganr as you said. I wish his in game model translated that.

@@BillionairesAreEvilif he uses QW he can still use WQ, he just can't use QQ and QE. In the video he uses WE + EW + QW on Kha'Zix, so using W as a primary ability doesn't put it on cooldown as a secondary too

Oh, so it's a square of 9 and each row goes on cooldown depending on what you used. Lots of options to get really crative. I hope that they make them all viable so that we don't just end up spamming 2 abilities and the ultimate.

I'm just glad that this champ also having the splash page accompanied by his theme on the home screen means that we are now at least keeping the animated splashes going forward. I thought they were testing the waters for a bit.

Kinda feel there is kind of a missed opportunity in there by not making the basic skills Red, Blue and Yellow (Purple, Orange, Green and lighter or darker tones), to then make the combined skills the colors painters get by mixing those but you can't win at everything, this champion looks really neat and I'm eager to play it.

its like these people never played their own game. how can you plan what do do vs a champ that can do anything at any given moment. he can poke you, burst you down, he can peel himself, he can cc you, he can do everything at any point, and all his abilities are short cd as well...

I remember hearing stories that Aphelios was going to have some stupid number of weapons and there was going to be some sort of variation based on the real life phases of the moon. It was obviously (and rightfully) vetoed. Looks his creator is still trying to get that original vision in. Go off, King.

FINALLY MORE JHIN LORE!
I really like the idea and concept of this one; let's see how his abilities are. It appears that he has a variety of spells based on how he uses his abilities. I'd like to have something similar to Aphelios in that regard, but with a bit more complexity. Once you grasp Aphelios, you constantly play him down the same way. It's enjoyable, and you have a lot of tools to play with, but it becomes monotonous.
For an artist he surely does have a plain design (as in terms of appearance, his kit is cool)
I think that's probably on purpose. His basic, messy aesthetic contrasts with his artwork.

I might be going crazy, but I swear those don't look like 4 abilities to me lol. Like, I'm guessing he has 1 abilities to choose a paint, then an offence ability that changes based on paint or mouse stroke, a utility ability tbat also changes based osn paint and stroke, and an ult.

Torment: Q -> Projectile, E -> Ground Effect (like Desaster)
It would be more intuitive, if it was for all pathes the same (Q -> Projectile, W -> Round Shape, E -> Ground Effect)
