zerosum23: I disagree with that completely cuz if it was about ratings then they would simply give Shannon Sharpe his own show which he deserves to have but skip is going out of his way to give Shannon Sharpe a platform on his show to put across Sharp's message.
And let's be real that show is Skip's show he's been in that profession for 40 years he's the veteran in that profession so what he says goes and he has decided to give Shannon Sharpe a platform because he truly believes in what sharp is saying.
Shannon Sharpe has really impressed me. Not too many people with his platform are able and willing to express the issue of race, as he does.
Kdot Mart willing? It’s pretty clear to see that he was placed in his position to do exactly what he is doing. Can’t get him to stop telling everyone that they’re wrong and his way is better. You do realize that it’s all scripted though, right? No way that he’s spitting all his wisdom on the fly. He probably doesn’t even write any of it himself. He just adds his own personal embellishments to whatever the team of writers cranks out. Remember, his only other job in adult life was playing football, and this is tv. Not saying he isn’t a well spoken, intelligent, stand up man. He seems to be all of that. It’s just that he does alway finish conveying his thoughts exactly within the allotted time. That never happens just by luck.

How can people refute anything Shannon just said after every fact he just uttered. And his points have been validated by these last two comparisons.

We just dont understand why Shannonor and Kaep think the average football fan can talk cops into shooting only whites, Hispanics Indians, Asians, Arabs, natives, and aboriginal peoples from now on. We really can’t.We have absolutely no say in who doesn’t cooperate with cops, or who makes them fear for their safety. I mean congress can even have them stop shooting people. Don’t just keep demanding our attention just to cause racial divide. Without communicating a plan or directions that’s all that is happening. He’s only making things worse as far as race relations amongst common folk of the working class community. He was given all the attention he asked for. Now what? We just argue and fight about who lives matter, and who’s don’t?
Police officers are now being held more accountable than ever. We have body cams, we have more public awareness of officers who violate the oath they took and more importantly, the laws of our land. So yes, I think that Colin made an statement on this subject. He got a vast number of citizens to start talking about it. That’s all that matters as far as I’m concerned.

From a cops eyes, do you really think that all of the videos we see of some of the higher profile incidents are genuine legit? I personally think most are staged, fraudulent, or just left to implication and guided with a narrative. Like this most recent case in Texas. The aunt gets shot through the window that doesn’t break by a gun with no muzzle flash, and we never even see a women. We’re just told about her and provided with footage like instantaneously as the story is coming out. The smoke and the fire both appeared at the same time.
Departments and unions and court orders just don’t move that quickly. Especially when real dead bodies are involved?

He missed on point though on the older people. They also lived through the Cold War, Vietnam, Korea, and some WW2. Sorry, but the youth don't have a clue that that means, its some words in a text book or on the screen. All I saw Shannon focus on was race, race, race while ignoring other factors. Also, for many Kap's protest was seen as a slight on the military. So, sorry, Shannon's break down miss several things on purpose because it didn't fit the narrative.

And in a way, the criticism is making the protesters 'uncomfortable'. One big problem is the left has a history of being anti-military. If they didn't have that stigma people probably wouldn't have thought the way they did. Doesn't matter what Shannon said, or that advisor to Kap said, people took it that way. Ignoring that only makes the protest seem weaker. Let's also face it, its time to move on from this kneeing and for football players, protesters to move to heal the wounds between blacks and cops. Heal, not divide. The problem here is that makes these protesters uncomfortable. Those in power do not wish to share, and while that applies to the cops, it also applies to those who lead the protest.

Give me a break. I have yet to hear what Kaepernick is protesting. It's so vague. Like Whitlock said, "he's in the deep end of the pool and he's drowning. If the goal was to debate whether or not you have to stand for the anthem, then he achieved his goal." The players are mostly under educated. It's the Ice Bucket Challenge of 2016. This whole thing is just a trend.

It really doesn't matter because they're just blowing hot air. They will most certainly tune in. And the funny thing about this what Colin is doing is that he actually IS getting people to tune in. People not interested in football are actually watching the beginning of these games just to see who's being shown taking a knee during the anthem. I think Americans are fanatics about football and anything that interrupts their beloved Sunday football ritual is looked down upon. They watch sports to get away from thinking about what is really going on. But that's what is making this movement so powerful, and people are taking notice.
how I spend my avg work day. two hours watching espn first take live from 10-12. One hour lunch break. Another two hours watching Undisputed from 1-3. I'm also arguing you guys in the comment section during this time as well. Then from 3-4:30 I'm doing actual work.

@john cage I work in IT. Basically I just do whatever work orders come in. Most work orders are people asking for permission to use certain parts of our software or ask to use certain documents. This requires approval access from managers so basically I just sit on my ass and wait for their managers to email back. My other Real work is to debug, but yea I just procrastinate on that

WTF Shannon Sharp is FULL OF SHIT!!! The nation talked about black people being shot by cops before any player protests and it will continue when the players stop protesting. By disrespecting ALL Americans (the Flag stands for EVERY American) the players are disrespecting their fans, their families, and each other. When MLK marched on Washington they did NOT disrespect ANYONE!!! The NFL players are disrespecting EVERYONE!!! No one has to watch the NFL and if 20% to 30% of the people who watch it now stop watching it (the ratings were down 10% opening weekend). This will cause advertisers to leave or spend less money and that will lead to the TV stations paying the NFL less money. Seeing as how the NFL and players share in the profits the salary cap will go down by tens of millions for each team.

A lot of these environments that are predominantly black have failing school systems and high unemployment rates. If you don't have the resources to support yourself, what is the reality that people are going to take to survive. How about mentioning investing more resources into these communities instead of jumping to the conclusion that blacks are 'lazy'.

Speaking from the UK & knowing next to nothing about NFL. The first commentary on the social injustice and racial bias of the police was one off the most moving and powerful speeches I have heard in this subject in weeks.
