So disappointed to hear some oxygen thief had a crack at you and pleased he was caught...I spent 7 years in UK and during that time I never experienced stuff like this, although being a barman produced a very rare "stoush" which I had to sort out but was never thumped..The biggest fright I got was about 3 am one morning, walking home alone and I startled a fox..!! It startled me as well...the scream it made was much louder than mine...lol..
I know what you mean. A violation is a disabling thing. See though, if you were able to defend yourself, the confidence action of those things have a more positive effect on your mental health. People that can fight back have less wounds of any mental kind I think and if you were able to subdue him- even better? Anyhow, I hope you have fully recovered. He was a bum, a loser.
4 am is a bad time to be out in most cities, i moved to Auckland in Oct 2004, never been mugged. Been ripped of by a rental agent, but thats another story. He was clearly looking for a fight with anyone who was in his way, likely he was on P? I bet you never got the $100.
I am sorry it happened mate but it's a once-off. Maybe it was the hoody and the head down, hands in pockets pose. It is a rare occurrence as I as a woman have walked at similar hours in worse areas in Tauranga. I have never had anyone accost me. Believe me, NZ is safer than most countries
Thanks for not completely throwing our country in the bin🤣 there are bad people everywhere people from south Auckland or the different hoods around nz will tell you a different story then the ones living out near the beaches so I’ve always known we had heart of gold but sometimes the grass ain’t always greener but it’s like that everywhere at the end of the day there ain’t no love like a kiwis 💯
Jesus what the hell? That's shocking! I'm glad you had good friends and workmates there for you. I'm not surprised you had PTSD after that 😲😩😵
I had amazing friends and workmates in New Zealand. In fact, the best! Thanks for the support 🤘

Did the police find out the reasons for his attack, is it depression, mental issues or...?
He was going through some mental health issues according to his apology letter.
