    ABOUT THIS VIDEO
    At the end of a long day at NAMM 2024, a very enthusiastic Doctor Mix swept me away to an Audio Modeling demo by Stefano Lucato (Founder/CEO). Emanuele Parravicini(Founder/ CTO) and Simone Capitani (Partner CXO). I was immediately re-energized when I heard the quality and expression level of sounds coming from the latest Audio Modeling software. I've been fighting orchestral samples in terms of latency, separate articulations, performance expression, etc...for decades. This software is light on the CPU, performs great and sounds very close to the real thing,
    They are now offering a new feature, variable spacial placements in the room for all the instruments in each section of the orchestra. This feature adds a lot of dimension to the finished orchestra sound. I kept being more and more impressed in this video. Please check it out and let me know what you think.
    Based on Audio Modeling’s exclusive modeling technology, SWAM String Sections is a truly innovative suite of four plug-ins, corresponding to the orchestra sections Violins, Violas, Cellos, and Double Basses, . They are capable of emulating orchestras of various sizes, from small chamber ensembles to large symphonic groups. SWAM technology provides instant access to natural orchestral articulations, and sections can be placed together in a virtual room to achieve authentic, blended acoustics. With real-time control over staccato, legato, expression, and more, it represents a revolution in orchestral arrangement and composition, allowing for seamless transitions between different styles and articulations without disrupting the creative flow.

    ABOUT ANTHONY
    Anthony's musical touch as both composer and performer is connected with some of the most influential creative minds over the last 40 years. He’s composed and conducted original orchestral scores for over 80 feature films including Young Guns , Internal Affairs , The Man From Elysian Fields , 15 Minutes and Planes, Trains & Automobiles , been commissioned by the Los Angeles Philharmonic for his symphonic work "In the Family Way", written over one thousand TV commercials in a myriad of musical styles, co-founded Levels Audio Post (LA's premiere post production facility) and performed and arranged on big-box-office films and influential hit records such as Michael Jackson's Thriller .
    His extensive work as a young arranger, orchestrator and performer for Quincy Jones , Jack Nitzsche , Lamont Dozier , Arthur Rubenstein and Giorgio Moroder was vital in launching his own career. His early years pioneering modular analog synthesizers along with his wide-ranging music scholarship positioned Anthony at the center of the music technology revolution. He attended the University of Southern California School of Music as a piano and composition major.

    This is... JAW DROPPING.... It's incredible how accurate modeling has become over the past decade. If I closed my eyes, I would absolutely not believe that this was coming from software...... It literally sounds "more realistic" than any solo Orchestral piece, if that makes sense. Blown away... Thanks for the upload Anthony!

    • @azynkron
      @azynkron 3 месяца назад +1

      It's not only the coding and sound analysis. The computational power that is needed for the real time algorithms wasn't available only like 10 years ago. Not on this scale anyway. And it will only get better as more and more is moved over to the GPU (which is exponentially better at this than the the CPU).
      But it is impressive.

      I agree. There's one thing to be kind as a person in general... but he's also kind with his skills and his knowledge with a genuine passion to pass that on. There's so many people that want to be somewhat possessive of knowledge and not want to share so they can continually be looked upon as some mystical wizard. Natural teachers are fantastic human beings indeed and Anthony is definitely a natural teacher!

      And i love his message to the world, and despite who he is he seems so accessable too, and he brought us back to when we were kids in the 80's. And tbh, i think i got my synclavier regen because of those two last years spending time great learning things and history with antony. IMOAnthony marinelli along with doctor mix and alex ball, are really the best audio channels online, and whena nthony and claudio are together it gets epic...

    I'm not sure if those who are not in the details understand how crazy it is to get such a realistic sound just from synthesis generated sound models. It's light-years from everything before, and this, it really sounds authentic.

    Brilliantly modelled instruments.
    A musician friend of mine played some amazing orchestral and instrument sounds on his album last year (or earlier). I asked what plug-in samples he’d used. SWAM. I looked it up. Way out my budget range as an amateur on a fixed income (basic state pension), but if I ever get a windfall….

Not depending on samples should eliminate the need for massive libraries and multiple terabyte external drives and massive RAM resources. I’ve been waiting for this. It’s been a long time coming but I’m so excited that it’s finally here, and it sounds amazing! 😀

At this time, when i checked internet, there is a litle device (breath midi controller) who everyone used with this library, it's was already freaking impressive ! But now, getting this just with an expression pedal and a wheel modulation is just INSANE ! I can feel how his passionnate about it, great job he is about to do a game changer in the industry ! Many sampled library are actually pretty insane in terms of details, but coming with a physical modeling technology and being able to trick the human ear with some 350mo library are pretty crazy to me !
