You have a very easy way of explaining the essentials of raag, with the help of the graphics. Well done, you can extend it up to 10 minutes to include more of the sargam.
Miss i am really very much inspired by ur teaching. U teach in such a systematic and easy way. First I thought it would be difficult to learn music, but now after regular practice I take swaras so easily. Thanku so much maam. And maam I have a small request from u. If u could plz take time to teach ur this student song"silsila ye chahat ka"from devdaas. U really thought lag ja gale very nice. I will be glad if u teach this song plzzzz maam for ur new student 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I subscribed to voxguru Hindusthani course. I can see multiple videos for carnatic music till varnas but Only basic course for Hindusthani with few ragas. Can you please add more videos of Hindusthani also. Thank you.
Namaste..all of you...good to follow you and keep it up..but i have a serious question...we have always been told that raag yaman has 7 swaras in aroha and 7 in avaroha....hence the Jaati is Sampurna-Sampurna and yet usually we don't take sa and pa in aroha...most of the time...I agree...but question is that is it not against the Hindustani Sangeet Padhati to omit Sa and Pa at the same time.?..is there any raag whereby Sa and Pa are omitted simultaneously?..Humble request....can you please give some clarifications it is important for me...thank you
I think you can't omit it fully in both Aroh and avaroh...so essentially SA and pa still figure as long as the whole song is not composed on an ever increasing octave like Jai Ho....pls correct me if am wrong...
@@maliniaravindan5349 hi..I wanted to know if there is a possibility that sa and pa are omitted in a raag simultaneously whether in the aroha or avaroha..can anyone give a clarification .because as per the Hindustani Sangeet padhati..this is not done..may be there are certain exceptions..I'm not sure....but not in raag yaman..what do you think?
Sa and Pa are omitted only in the Aroh phrases, not in the entire Raag. That is acceptable as an aspect of the chalan of the Raag. You can understand this better by analysing the compositions of Yaman and observing the flow of notes too.
I am not a singer. I want to understand what it takes to be a stage singer .How the above knowledge is used to give a stage performance in hindustani or carnatic durbar.

Hi, thank you for this. One thing I'm confused about... in the fourth phrase of the chalan, Pa ascends to Sa, above. I thought that Pa could only descend. Is there somewhere I can find the rules for when it's ok to make exceptions to the ascending and descending patterns, when notes can be skipped on the way up or down, and so on? That would be very helpful.
There are 2 schools of thought here. Since Sa and Pa is omitted in Aroh, some schools consider it as Audav Sampurna, whereas some call it as Sampurna-sampurna. As long as you understand the chalan, you need not worry about these terminologies as they are just nomenclature.
Thank you so much for this wonderful music class 😅 oh! I mean lesson.. Actually I really forgot that I'm watching an ordinary video I thought I was in a music class 😛😘😘
Wherever you say that it is a audav sampoorna raag, that's a flaw... There is no better authority on raag music that Pt. Ramashreya Jha Ramrang ji. In the article below by Rajan Parikkar ji he describes the mechanics in great detail and Jha saheb has a sound bite worth listening again and again. www.parrikar.org/hindustani/kalyan/

Great job!
What's pakad and chalan? Thank you ji, what a wonderful channel.
Pakad is a brief signature phrase of a Raga. Chalan is a longer set of phrases, which indicate the grammar and the flow of notes in that Raga.

You have only 25 sessions in your hindustani classical music course. other are updated as we subscribe or not ?
The course modules are fixed and not updated after subscription. Currently we have posted the first module which has 25 lessons.
@@VoxGuru after completing 25 courses i.e. one module, the next module comes or not ? Is it sufficient to learn classical music from only 25 courses?
We have not yet uploaded the 2nd module. Once we upload it it will appear as a separate course. You can subscribe for it separately later.
Great upload! Thumbs up No.214!
Thank you!

Ma'am one small correction, yaman is not audhava sampurna,
it's sampurna- sampurna, please do more research and post ,thank u

I just didn't understand anything. But it is amazing.
Fr I’ve watched like 10 videos and I still don’t understand ragas
Are these religious in origin? Are they part of Hindu worship?
No not part of any religious just like meditation there are different gharanas like lucknow Delhi benaras which have different cultural variations
It’s not a big deal but I think you should say राग rather than रागा
Is raga, ragam, raag, different ways of saying it in different parts of India.
Raag and raagaa both are incorrect. Its Raaga. Ga is akarant.
In Sanskrit it's raaga only in hindi it's raag
In Kannada... everything ends with aa.. dont think it is foreigners who say aa at the end... We indians also do pronounce aa at the end...
Instead of criticising you should appreciate
Hello Shivani didi
Mam ,i lov you..🤗♥️
I wanna Saa Nee Dhaa with you.. 🙏
