Many would say good things about Penguin. Many would remember him for his songs. But there will always be more one can say about him. And let me be the one to say something about him no one else may remember....He was also a school teacher at Mt Hope Junior Secondary School. But there is one thing I didn,t know, he was also the brother of Martin Joseph, former National Security Minister. Rest in Peace my brother.

On holiday in Antigua as a teenager for two whole months with my mum and two sisters in 1980. Great memories.......happy times! I remember many of these awesome tracks..............also jouvet morning and Antigua carnival. We went to St Kitts too. My parents are from both these Islands. Talk about paradise on earth..............I didn't want to go home!!! I cried and almost made us miss our flight, just so that i could stay. Would've gladly stayed there if i could've, but we had to fly back to the U.K :( That was the first time i had been abroad. I bought the 12 inch King Short Shirt track, "Disco Dumpling." which was a big hit in the summer of 1980 in the West Indies 💟

+Selekta Supa The problem is we didn't document our history like Trinidad did, and take pride in our culture. This is why Trinis, rightfully so, are able to make the claims that they do. Their history is documented on paper and in song. Try finding a picture of carnival in Grenada from the 70s or earlier. Or even a calypso from prior to the 70s. French slave master brought carnival to Dominica, Haiti, Martinique, St. Lucia, Grenada, St. Vincent, then Trinidad. OUr culture is very similar. Trinidad isn't the only ones who know of Jab Jab, Canboulay, or stick fighting. That is all of our culture, but they did something with it that none of us were able to do. We need to record our history, so others can't claim it then call us followers afterwards. Big up Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique
