    I never knee the umbrella and smile way but I do most of my end weaving down knit stitches like you did on the brim. I'm newer at knitting but crocheted for like 10 years

    I am a Grandma who crochets but,,,,I have tried to learn to knit,I have not really stuck with it or kept trying,,,I would try then quit, then try again , then quit, well the thing is I never completely quit, so I am determined to knit before I go to meet the Lord I will keep trying,,,my problem is not casting on it's the other part, I can cast on fairly quickly and then I hit a brick wall,,,,,,but I will learn to knit before I die, I hope

    Thank you, Staci! I've been asking this question of sock knitters for years... and no one has really given me a good answer. I've always been concerned about my woven-in ends maybe feeling too "lumpy" on sensitive feet. Your way looks decidedly un-lumpy and I will definitely try it as I endeavor to become a sock knitter this year.

    Thank you so much, Staci! You have thought me to do my favorite form of making! Having had stage 3 cancer and being so sick for 9 years knitting has gotten me through a lot. God bless and thank you. 🙏🏻💚 (btw: I would love to see more of your furbabies, Basenji's are amazing dogs and not well known. Do they have their own IG profile?)

    Thank you for this great video. At 3:51 where you go under both Vs of the stitch, I understand that part, but at 3:53, 3:54 where you insert your needle back down to where your stitch came from, I can’t see where you are putting your needle as your hand is blocking the work. So I can’t finish off my sewing in of the end at the rib of my socks. This is the clearest and best video I can find that shows me how to do this. Is there any way that I can find out how to do this last bit please? Much appreciated.

    • @verypinkknits

      The technique is the same, regardless of the rib you're knitting.

    I saw your "old" video about weaving the ends. Since than I don't hate to do this))))) Thank you so much. You're a great teacher. Do you have any video about weaving the ends in Tunisian crochet?

    • @JillHarris-ne2ho

      When showing how to weave in at cuff, your hand is blocking the second move, when you say “back down into where that stitch came out of”. Please clarify. Thank you.

    I always weave my ends in this way on socks. What do you do with your heel yarn end? I pull mine through to the inside and weave in same way.

  • @theastewart6721

    Very nice instruction. Clear and concise. Thank you. Your light blue sock is lovely! What is your preferred method for making socks? Magic loop, DPNs, 9 inch circular, toe up etc? Or does it depend on the pattern?

    • @verypinkknits
      @verypinkknits  5 лет назад +3

      I like trying different things, and my "favorite" is whatever I'm currently knitting. :) My current favorite is toe-up, and I like using 9" circulars...but I switch to DPNs when I knit toes/heels/cuffs.

    • @theastewart6721
      @theastewart6721 5 лет назад

      Do you still recommend the ChiaGoo 9 inch circulars?

      @@theastewart6721 Those were the ones Staci liked most in her video on 9 inch circulars. She tried them all and said she liked them best! I grabbed a set and they're great. Strange at first, and tricky to get used to but so nice

    Thank you! What if the sock has self-striping yarn and the color changes so the tail to weave in is a different color from the adjacent area to be woven into? How to weave in without the different color showing?

    • @verypinkknits
      @verypinkknits  4 года назад

      Just make sure you weave it into a darker color in the fabric. The end won't show on the front unless you are weaving, for example, dark navy yarn into white knitted fabric.
