I love Neighbours and have watched it from the very beginning and seen everybody come and go. I was very sad to see it was going to end. Looking forward to some of the stars come over to England and seeing them on the TV or even more if they appear on in a stage play.
Me too. Channel 5 say they are going to concentrate on making drama uk. But I only watch Channel 5 for neighbours and home and away. Also watched from the beginning . I have grown up with the show. I hope Karl could turn up in the Queen Vic or emmerdale like Emily symons who plays Marilyn in home and away.
With such demand for this lovely soap, how can it come to an end. I’d like to ask the Channel 5 executive that, and listen to his rationale for cancelling it.

I’m very sad that Neighbours will end. Was it really down to lack of funding? It is by far (in my opinion) the most entertaining soap on TV and beats any dreary boring English soap (that should have been put to rest years ago)
‘Neighbours’ has been a loss maker for Fremantle for well over a decade. Meaning it costs more money to produce than it generates in ad revenue due to lower viewer ratings. The show has, for want of a better word, been subsidised by British TV for a long time. First by the BBC and then Channel 5. Fremantle were happy to continue production on these terms, because Australian ratings no longer mattered. The writing was really on the wall when Fremantle upped the price for ‘Neighbours’ and in doing so lost the support of the BBC. Channel 5 picked it up, but they’re a commercial channel and ratings equal ad revenue. After 10 years on Channel 5, they decided the popularity in daily viewership had fell too low and it was time to end it for them. It was disappointing that no other broadcaster was interested in taking it. But it was well past its sell by date.
Anyone know if it is "perfect blend" or "perfect friend?" It seems to be "blend," but can remember on BBC ceefax subtitles years ago it was definitely "friend."
Love the show but not watched it for years. Can someone please explain when Karl lost his hair in the show? Or was he wearing a wig? I know he suffers alopecia in real life. He needs to go see Dr Kennedy for some help 😆
I'm so sad that it is ending. I've watched it from the first day. Back then it came on BBC one at 9.35am and then the lunchtime edition. Its so sad . I won't be watching Channel 5 there nothing of interest on there oh I watch home and away as I've watched that from the first episode too. Same as eastenders
It happened very recently. Got diagnosed with Alopecia. Happened very quickly. Literally every episode over the space of a few weeks lumps went missing. So he started wearing a flat cap
