In this video I demonstrate how to identify outliers in an Excel data set. The function used to do this is QUARTILE.INC
The steps are:
1) Calculate the first quartile
2) Calculate the third quartile
3) Calculate the interquartile range (IQR)
4) Calculate the upper and lower fence
5) Apply conditional formatting based on the upper and lower fence values
6) Optionally use the FILTER function to return a table of outlier records

What if my lower bound is negative but I have no negative values in my data set?
