예수님께 간음 현장에서 잡아 온 여인을 어떻게 할까요? 하며 의도적인 질문을 한 유대인 율법사들과 바리새인들이 예수님의 대답을 기다리는데,
(원어민의 소리를 주의 깊게 듣기)
1) But Jesus bent down 그러나 예수님은 몸을 구부리시고 (bent 구부리다, bent down (몸을 아래로) 구부리다)
2) and started/ to write 그리고 시작하셨습니다 쓰기를
3) on the ground / with his finger. 땅 위에/ 그분의 손가락으로 (ground 땅, on the ground 땅 위에, finger 손가락) 그러나 예수님은 몸을 구부리시고 손가락으로 땅 위에 쓰기를 시작하셨습니다.(무슨 내용을 쓰셨을까는 궁금증을 유발하나 아마 읽는 사람들의 자기 자신들의 죄들을 쓰시지 않았을까??)
4) When they kept on questioning him 그들이 계속했을 때/ 그분께 묻기를(keep on ~을 계속하다, keep on ~ ing계속~하다, question 묻다, 질문하다(동사)
5) he straightened up / and said to them 그분은 몸을 똑바로 쭉 펴시고/ 그들에게 말씀하셨습니다(straighten몸을 똑바르게 하다, straighten=straight(똑바른)
+en(동사어미) 반대 표현이 bent down구부리다 (bent down Straighten up) 예수님께서는 구부리셨던 몸을 똑바로 쭉 펴시며 그들에게 말씀하시기를
