A truly massive, wild and free living whitetail buck deer. Impressive. These days, unfortunately, you have superficial idiots who farm and scientifically create massive Frankenstein bucks. Then they sell them off, or some chump shoots it off a feeder on a high fence ranch, has it mounted and brags. Just not the same and is lame.
No it’s not unfortunately. People like that in my opinion aren’t hunting they’re farming or being a business I saw one video where the buck couldn’t hold his head up with his rack. Unfortunately we will never have these massive awesome wild bucks like these in the wild again sadly.
@Ward And congrats man that’s awesome where I hunt what was June prime deer habitat and thousands of acres owned by 1 family has been broken up into sub fields and high pressure so there’s not A lot of lrgendery deer around me and when there is and world gets out everyone in a 5 mile radius wants on your tract.
This is the first time I've heard a weight estimate of the Jordan buck. While 400 lb whitetails are not unheard-of, it would place this buck in the top 5 or 10 heaviest all time, depending on whether he's referring to field-dressed or on-the-hoof.
My uncle killed one in 70s that weighed 380 in Alabama. Dog drive in the woods deer broke through a peanut field late November morning. Single shot 12 gage # 3 buck shot at 10 yards almost ran him over . It ran 300 more yards . Rack was small but old deer . Cotton scail head still dragged the ground at 360 lbs so I added 20 to the weight . Slob of a buck .
Nice deer. People today will never be as impressive as the older hunters. High fences, food plots/bait, and cameras that tell you in real time when a buck is on your bait pile. Just not the same.
My Dad grew up in Danbury. Outdoor Life ran a story on the Jordan Buck. He knew everyone in the story of the Jordan Buck. Jim Jordan was a neighbor to him.
@@joshjordon5442 Dad only ever mentioned Danbury Wisconsin. If memory serves me correct, Dad said Jim and his wife lived in town. Dad's family lived down on the river.
At the time the story I saw in Outdoor Life, I asked Dad if he ever heard Jim talk of a big buck. Jim never talked about it that he could remember. It would of been in the mid 1930's to early 40's when Dad's family lived on the river. Egus Davis (pronounced Ekus) had a crew of guys that cut pulp wood including Dad and my Grandfather. Trappers, loggers and woodsman they all were back then.
I don’t see how he could say that was his deer. Just seems sketchy that his family member ended up with it from a garage sale. I’m having a hard time believing that was his deer
IMHO, THE JORDAN BUCK IS STILL.NO.1 OF ALL TIME. PUT IT NEXT TO THE HANSON BUCK AND THERES NO COMPARISON. JORDAN BUCK IS STILL THE GREATEST 10 POINTER EVER SHOT.
IMHO, this buck is still the greatest of all time. Incredible mass, symmetry and enormous body weight. It had it all !
My grandfather and I heard this story so many times.....great grandfather.

I agree
You’re all idiots
This is truly a giant 10 pt. The most impressive buck I’ve ever seen in life.
Awesome channel.. I really like seeing all the different record whitetail and the stories behind them. Great content!
This is still the greatest Typical Whitetail ever harvested.
My favorite whitetail story!!!
It's our favorite too!
It's still the most impressive whitetail buck ever.
Nah the king buck

Jordan buck without a doubt, the greatest whitetail trophy of all time
My favorite deer of all time.
Are there distinctions for the northern and southern subspecies of whitetail?
not really although deer farther north tend to be bigger
400lbs?!?!
What happened to the 25-20
What an amazing story.
He is my great great grandpa

I have family in lower Alabama. The bucks are small. I don't think they grow to even 300 pounds down yonder.
As I'm writing this in 2025 it still holds the world record in terms of net inches for a typical 10 point taken by hunter
Is it not?
