Bose L1 Pro 32 with Dual Sub1s - Up Close Look

- I'm providing this video as a supplement to my previous comparison video of the Bose L1 Pro 32 system. I the previous video I compared a stereo Bose L1 Pro 32 setup with single Sub1s versus dual Sub1s. This video is a quick walk around the setup including up close views of wattage draw from the Lithium battery packs used for testing. These battery packs worked well, but do not allow for full volume playback with a pair of Sub1s on each side. Also, you get a view of the little white hybrid that can transport this setup along with a pair of Chauvet Gigbar 2.0's while still having the front seat open for a passenger!

I’d skip the Bose mixer units. Not enough channels. If you know what you’re doing, you can dial in a good mix with the mixer and mics you already have. Tonematch is a beast though. In certain cases, the tonematch settings in the free app works just fine.
If l understood correctly on earlier models:
Those subs should be 29" apart for maximum efficiency.
Not stack closely.
I could be wrong, maybe its a new design that lets them be stacked on top of each other.

@@deehive It varies with volume. At a medium volume level it would last 5 or 6 hours. At dance volume they would last 2.5 to 3 hours. With a smaller setup they would last longer.
Hey guys, I just bought and test the L1 pro 16 with Jackery 500 explorer power station and doesn’t work. I think the problem is the maximum delivery power, is 2.17A, and the L1 pro 16 require 3A. Cheers
Thanks for the information! I'm surprised - the specs for the inverter are identical to the power station that I use ( amzn.to/3zefWqB - 500w continuous / 1000w peak ). I can't imagine the L1 pro 16 would require more power than the L1 pro 32... Must be the power station!

Great idea! I'll try to put one together. Until then, in this system I'm using the Bose T4S mixer. To use a microphone, I plug into the T4S which connects to each L1 Pro 32 in stereo.

It's an expensive system, don't you think you can get more loudness from 2 db technologies es1203?
That may be true based on the specs of the 1203... But I'm also concerned about system weight and flexibility. The 1203's sub weighs 65 lbs which would be too difficult for me to carry on a regular basis.

I know mics distort, but it sounded like the sub1s (or the arrays) were struggling on top of their voice?
I do think it's the mic.. This video and audio is recorded directly from my cell phone without an additional mic. The other video on my channel is using a nice external stereo mic. I think it's much more accurate with regard to the sound of the system.

why not have bought only one sub2 instead of 2 sub 1?
It's easier for me to carry two Sub1s than a single Sub2. I can also only use one Sub1 if I'm playing a smaller room. I can also use them with S1 Pros for a micro system. I can also use them in cardioid mode if needed. In short: weight, bulk and flexibility.
I just bought the same system to replace my Bose F1's and 812's because the F1's are too hard for me to carry around. The Sub2 is only about 2.5lbs lighter than the F1 subs, so it was a no-brainer to get Sub1's.

Ive used it 3 or 4 times so far through a full charge... Many more times for testing. No issues so far!

@@DavidB_AudioTech it varies... With this setup and volume roughly 2.5 hours. The battery pack is 288 watt hours... Averaging 100 watts plus or minus...
How much does this whole system cost?
$8,350 with the additional Tonematch Cable, but without the power packs ($660 for both) or the tablet and stand ($400 +/-). It ain't cheap - but it sounds awesome and is as portable as you can get for the power / performance.
