Agree w/ Zach, get the top end Outback and save that money. I have a '24 and it's surprisingly premium on the inside and in the way it drives. Not as good looking as the Crown though!
Never considered the Outback, but I definitely agree it is a good contender. Top trim is nearly $16k less than the top trim Crown Signia! Subaru will have a vastly superior AWD system for inclement weather and added ground clearance too. I think Toyota is pricing themselves out of the market on this one. People will look at luxury or near luxury brands instead at this price point. I don't think the Crown Signia will be a big seller for that reason.
Top end signia with all options added is $52,500 vs top end subaru outback touring xt with all of the options at $46,500. That's a $6k difference to consider. How is it $16k?
Looks like a worthy successor to the Venza (which I own). Looks great inside and out. I agree with you guys regarding the "wagon" vibe, which is fine (I like wagons too). Regarding fuel economy, it's pretty easy to achieve or beat the official numbers. I can regularly get high 4s (~50mpg) driving around town. I was contemplating whether to get the Crown Signia or the Lexus RX 350h. I went with the Crown Signia and picked it up last week! I'm now a very happy driver coming from a 2020 Camry. The big deciding factor for me was that my car insurance in Toronto would double if I went with the Lexus. 😅
I’m onboard with buying a spare and bringing it along for road trips. 95% of our driving is local so not a deal breaker. Modern tire sells a spare I a bag with tools for 500. Apparently it almost fits in that cutout. it’s still gonna be a little extra luggage. Buying the xle today if the salesperson does not beat me up too bad.

Great review guys! It reminds me of my first gen Toyota Solara, only in the sense that, especially in top trim, it too seemed more a Lexus in refinement and accoutrements, although 100% Camry underneath the skin. Another wagon guy here, love the form factor of this and especially long usable cargo floor..... But, for the price, it needs a little bit more baking in the oven. * No proper opening sunroof? They just brought that deficit over from the Venza. Wth Toyota? * Too high beltline. Andrea's demonstration of difficult elbow-out cruising shows that needed to come down about an inch. That's obviously something they can't do anything about until the next go-'round, but still... * More refined power/drive-train with the option of the Crown sedan's Max (as, my prediction, this will outsell). They can do this option anytime. * 21s too big, especially without a spare. 20s max, 19s better-- which it sounds like you can do. * If not already available in the inventory, they need to make a special ultra skinny temp spare that will fit. Skinnies are out there but correct wheel size that will clear the brakes, bolt pattern and offset available? To Zack's point, the Subaru Outback perhaps its biggest threat...? I think that probably does more things better. And, except for the price, their own Lexus RX, though IMO this is leagues better-looking than the Lexus' Origami School of Design styling which will date it.
I test drove the Signia yesterday and found the vehicle refined with a smooth drive but a bit too noisy even in normal acceleration. My current daily driver is a 2021 Volvo Cross Country (leased) and I find the interior of the Volvo a bit more refined than the Toyota. Other than the back seat room, the Volvo seems just as roomy in front and in the cargo area even though the Volvo is shorter and a bit narrower than the Signia. Looking forward to your review of the upcoming Mazda CX50 hybrid; I have one on order expected to arrive in Feb-March 25 ! The CX 50 GT hybrid is about 12K - 15K less than the Signia.

Nice to see that Zach has finally learned to address the queen 👑properly....took him long enough. Crown Signia is so much more appealing than the regular Crown. I'm guessing that these will sell well irrespective of the highish price. I see it as a wannabe Lexus take on the now long defunct Camry wagon.
I wish you luck with that, if you’re waiting. At this point, I give up on Subaru. I loved my 2016 Outback 3.6R Limited. After I sold it, I waited for a better Outback that never arrived. They refuse to offer the Outback with a panoramic sunroof, and they refuse to design a beautiful wagon; they just seem fixated on adding more cladding to their cars.
At least the Subaru Outback's sunroof actually opens! Outback also has 8.7" ground clearance and comes with a spare tire. Unless driving 100% highway, skip the turbo and buy a low mileage, 23 or 24 CPO Outback 2.5 Limited or Onyx for $32,000 U.S. and save $20,000.
@@cormaro13 I am willing to take the risk. At least when it works, my road trips will be more enjoyable. I am not one to rationalize a car purchase. I buy below my means, and that’s it. The fixed glass roof is totally the right choice for this car, as the target market for this is someone who wants a forever car. Opening sunroofs are great until the drains get clogged and your interior and electronics go for a swim.
People are not talking how Toyota cancelled Venza and come out with significantly more expensive Signia. Yes it’s more spacious and luxurious, but to me it’s more just a price gouging move from Toyota
Looks great… Honestly at 60k it should be a super quiet interior, and refined suspension. I just don’t see it as a compelling product at the current price point.
Great review…I did find it a little more cramped in the cockpit than SUVs like the RAV4, CRV, or the Sportage…center console is high and roof a little lower, so can feel more cramped…does have that Toyota hybrid groan under acceleration, but overall nice car…they keep the price lower than the Lexus by essentially making it a parts bin vehicle. Other than the shell, everything is re-used from some other Toyota in the lineup…my biggest nit is (in the US), you can’t get the 19 inch tires with the top trim, and that cross bar in the glass roof is in a terrible spot…should be back farther. Compared to the Mazda, Mazda seats are overall terrible. Too short, and not as many adjustments.
Cause they share parts with the Lexus and there a price difference for sure , they’re wanted 53k for 2024 nx hybird , got my 2024 crown limited for 44k this year in February , so almost 10k difference
There is much speculation regarding the 2026 redesign of the Subaru Outback. Rumor is it will be a more squared off/boxier than the current generation and a redesign of the infotainment system in terms of a move towards more nobs and buttons. The Signia is beautiful but the price here in the states for the XLE is the same for the top trim Outback Touring XT. The Signia Limited is 50+K. We will see the new prices of the redesigned Outback next year, but as of now, the lower trim Outback's are amazing value. Of course, as of now, no hybrid option for the Outback which might be a no-go for some. As Andrea and Zach mentioned, the Outback is way underrated for ride quality. I have a 2014 and still drives like it just came off the lot. I am sure the Signia is built to the highest standards but I don't think you will see many of these in the wilderness next to a camp fire. This is a country club member's car. As Outback owners know, the beauty of an Outback is you can beat the living hell out of it, run it through a car wash and it is good to go. It drives like a car, but you can tow stuff and pile crap in the back to take to the landfill. I would be scared to death to park the Signia at Home Depot. A ding in the door will feel like breaking a piece of family fine heirloom china.
Excellent review with all the important factors discussed. Towing capability with the Signia was very important for us as compared to the outgoing Venza. Love the banter back and forth!
Test drove the Crown Signia, and it was a great vehicle. Unfortunately, I won’t get it because it cannot accommodate a spare tire. Ironically, the Crown sedan comes with a spare.
Soooo, does Andrea match colors with the vehicle, or does the vehicle match with Andrea? 🙂 Does it really feel like a wagon when driving or a CUV ? Thanks 😊
This Saddle Tan leather is beautiful 😍🔥🤩! I really hope they bring that to other Toyota models like the next gen RAV4, the Highlander Limited trim, & the Grand Highlander Limired trim
It doesn’t open because the roof of the car is glass- not just a hole cut out for a sunroof. The glass goes from the windshield all the way to the rear of the car- 1 massive glass panel.
I mean they dont make tons of these so they will find people willing to pay that much for a Toyota badge. They know this is not a volume seller and that’s fine.
Well done guys! I am presently driving a Toyota RAV4 prime and wondering if this is possibly even more quiet and refined? Especially for long highway trips. Also wondering how this would compare with the NX hybrid concerning refinement and quietness. Thanks!
I love the look. Ever since the Fisker Ocean went away, now its a unique look again. But at 60k, there are better buys out there. Im waiting to see how the CX 50 hybrid or Outback hybrid go
I am also driving a 23 lexus nx350h. I don’t love the back seat because of my dog, the seats don’t lie flat and the wheel well sits under the seat which makes it hard for my dog to get in and out. I was looking at changing, but wonder if it’s less nice than my lexus…. Which is fine enough… but if the crown signia is as good/lux feeling as the nx, I may make the change to make life with a dog easier. This review only really compares it to the RX, saying it’s less refined. I would also say the nx is less refined than the RX…
If you want to see how Toyota put a spare tire in the Signia, look on page 380 of your owner's manual. The manual shows that Toyota added a collection of 2" lift blocks to the bottom of the rear cover panel. You can do the same with your cover panel (I did!) and now you have room for the spare tire. You lose slightly over 2 cubic feet of storage, but the stock cover panel's curved end drops and fits perfectly into the curved back body grove. PROBLEM SOLVED!
I consider this more of a car than an SUV... And as such it's one of the better styled Toyota cars... Maybe my favorite styled non SUV Toyota of what's currently on the market
Dealerships are garbage, period. You have to time your visit to the end of a quarter to possibly get a good deal or get treated well. They want to pump their numbers up and will try to actually sell cars.
I’m heading to the dealer today. The anxiety has kicked in. You think any worse than any other dealer? They all have one objective which is make as much money as possible. Wish they just did what Saturn did yrs ago; no haggling, the price is the price. I feel raped after walking out of the dealer after signing.
Risky buying an RX because they are still getting stolen in Toronto. I kind of like the idea of the car being there when I want to drive it. I don't care whether it is a hybrid or a plug in hybrid at this point since I've been waiting so long for a plug in. My Maverick Hybrid is getting 5.5L/100 at the moment.
How's the driving experience compared to the last Venza you two drove, if you can remember...? I find it interesting that a nearby Toyota dealership has 2 Signia's sitting unsold, but a Venza Limited that came in recently sold right away.
Since Zack started saying (quietly) the same that Andrea says at the end of QC&C, Andrea should do the same thing when Zack says: "what do you think of that?"
I really miss having cars with a lower beltline and not having the "gunslit" windows. I get that it likely contributes to side impact safety but I still don't like feeling like I'm in a tank.
Great looking vehicle, seems strange to have this luxury with Toyota when they have Lexus. But I do wish Toyota would get to making their core models and reducing wait times instead of introducing more and more models nobody can get for 2 years.
Dealer that has had my Prius Prime order for one year now had blue and black Signia's last week (two cars total). The tech package is not available on them. I think they are wonderful and they may be able to get me a Signia BEFORE the Prius arrives (?). Crazy that this is normal in any way. They are also getting some RAV plug in hybrids this month but I think they look so dated compared to this Signia.
@@thembzman Toronto. Dealer is in Stouffville, just to the north of Toronto (a year ago, this was my local dealer but I sold my farm - a lot can happen in a year).
Hi Andrea & Zack! Love your channel and reviews! Maybe an odd question/comparison, but how would you compare a Toyota Crown Signia Limited with a Buick Envision Avenir as a Lexus NX alternative? Our criteria are (1) quietness, (2) smooth ride, (3) luxurious touches/features/appearance inside, (4) power train responsiveness/“driving pleasure” (not outright sportiness). My wife and I are retirees and may be looking for a replacement for her ancient (2007) Lexus RX 350, as a less expensive Lexus-alternative; as low mileage retirees MPG is not a large consideration; a dark interior is a deal-breaker so the Mazda CX-5 Signature is eliminated based on that alone, and the Subaru Outback Touring XT is just too fugly.) Thanks! ❤️✌🏻✌🏻❤️
Waiting for the Crown sport to come to the US….. I like the look of the Signia; but would prefer if this had the 2.4 Turbo powertrain like in the Lexus NX350
I have bad knees and can not sit in a lower to the ground vehicle. That is why I need to have an SUV that sits my butt up higher so that getting in and out is simply a "slide-in & slide-out" kind of thing. If I have to pull myself out as in a regular car, then it is a no-go for me. So does anyone who has this model or have driven it tell me more about the "in & out" feature? Are the seats butt-high or do you have to go down to sit in it?
The Signia is a bit large for me and almost at Lexus price !!! I would prefer the Crown Sport but unfortunaly it won't be available in North America !!!

How much more money would it cost to make sure these cabins are quiet?
@@rotaxriderit’s already stupid quiet 😂 I own the sedan version and the only problem is the tire noise from the trash Bridgestone but that’s all
@@cormaro13 is it possible that the engine quiet down after the break-in period?

I never hear you guys give interior width...this is important to many of us! Shoulder room....
I have very broad shoulders and fits great
It is rather overpriced for the Canadian market. I would rather buy an NX Lexus. It really is unfortunate that Toyota killed the Venza
Customers not buying venza killed it
@@robertduklus6555Are you sure? They were always sold out and with a wait list for the last 4 years.
@@genzigzagonly in Canada with highest gas price in NA

@@genzigzagyeah, they weren’t selling well. I can assure you.
Been waiting for this video after seeing the photos on Instagram, looks very sleek and smart 🎉
....for a station wagon.
disappointing pricing. Andrea hits the nail on the head with the add-on cash grab. Puts me off Toyota.
I’d be comparing this to the Outback which has better ground clearance and a spare tire. Price difference will buy a lot of gas.
It is a parts bin vehicle, shares with other Toyota models. The Venza was a better buy and thousands less and more standard equipment and yes a spare tire included. There is a collapsible spare tire on the market that will work.
I love it. Thanks for the great review.
Zack, that "spare tire" is now a permanent feature. I am 70, I know these things.
Very nice vehicle but a bit of pricey for just one trim. Great show Andrea! ☕️☕️
I have a feeling the next gen of the Subaru Outback might be going this route
@@bill7481you don’t want that giant roof , just adds a bigger repair bill
@@cormaro13 I am willing to take the risk. At least when it works, my road trips will be more enjoyable.
I am not one to rationalize a car purchase. I buy below my means, and that’s it. That’s how I live my life. I know cars are money pits, but I enjoy them. So, when I do, I buy the best value for the money. I am the guy who will buy the top trim Accord over the base BMW 3 series. Life is too short, so try to live a little.
Nice to see 4 choices that are not full of kia and Hyundai. Love your videos!
The fixed glass roof is totally the right choice for this car, as the target market for this is someone who wants a forever car. Opening sunroofs are great until the drains get clogged and your interior and electronics go for a swim.
I will wait for the inevitable recalls to be completed.
It is all just parts bin stuff. There really shouldn't be recalls.
The Car Care Nut pretty much said the same thing. 😊@@djplonghead5403
It's Toyota. Nothing to worry about.
Haven’t had one in my 2024 crown sedan and it’s almost the end of the year , go Toyota
Crown Signia vs Lexus Nx in depth comparison
People are not talking how Toyota cancelled Venza and come out with significantly more expensive Signia. Yes it’s more spacious and luxurious, but to me it’s more just a price gouging move from Toyota
I think they’re trying to put something between the Rav4 Limited and a Lexus SUV price-wise. The Venza had overlapping prices with the Rav4.
@DreamConundrum they are not. Lexus nx starting price is no where near 60k.....
@@441meatloaf They’re often referencing prices in Canadian dollars. I am seeing $48-$53k for Crown Signia in the US.
@@DreamConundrum doesnt matter, 48-53K for a Toyota is ridiculous.
As the price creeps up, they need to add HUD and massaging front seats before more electronic nannies.
It’s not a gm car 😂 you’ll see the hud on the next year model cause it just came to the sedan for 2025
Another great review!
Looks great… Honestly at 60k it should be a super quiet interior, and refined suspension. I just don’t see it as a compelling product at the current price point.
60k in Canada it’s going for 47k or less in the states , get out of Canada 😂
Wondered why the top-trim Outback was not compared to this vehicle. May not be as fancy, but it is a wagon.
Was thinking the same thing an outback touring xt would be a good comparison except for the fuel economy.
We focused on other hybrids, the Outback has no hybrid option.
@@andreaspencer9813But to be fair to you guys, I believe you did mention the Outback, just not one of the four alternative choices in the end
@springertube Yes we did.
I don't see much of a price difference between the Crown and the Lexus Hybrids?
Cause they share parts with the Lexus and there a price difference for sure , they’re wanted 53k for 2024 nx hybird , got my 2024 crown limited for 44k this year in February , so almost 10k difference
The NX is $67k out the door with the $5000 govt rebate so it is very pricey.
It was an extremely strange decision to approve a design without proper space for a spare in the Signia.
It has cutout where it looks like you could easily put in a spare. You should have looked at that
so which one is a better vehicle in your opinion rx350 or Crown signia?
No tinted rear windows
Well you can always get that done yourself & then you can probably have the rear windows tinted & make them match the front window tint
I rather get the NX Hybrid/Plugin In with this price.
Soooo, does Andrea match colors with the vehicle, or does the vehicle match with Andrea? 🙂
Does it really feel like a wagon when driving or a CUV ? Thanks 😊
I love wagons too! And pickup trucks and convertibles.
I would never buy an SUV, however, if I was forced to buy one this would be it. Great job Toyota.
I bought a 2023 Venza limited and find it on par w my Lexus. The Venza is built in Japan and gets 40 mph.
I'd rather have a fixed glass roof over one that opens. There are too many $12k horror stories associated with Toyota's pano roof.
I WUV this Wagon-Utility-Vehicle!
This Saddle Tan leather is beautiful 😍🔥🤩! I really hope they bring that to other Toyota models like the next gen RAV4, the Highlander Limited trim, & the Grand Highlander Limired trim
Amazing review Andrea and Zack! Only if they had the moonroof open ...but glass isn't bad either
It doesn’t open because the roof of the car is glass- not just a hole cut out for a sunroof. The glass goes from the windshield all the way to the rear of the car- 1 massive glass panel.
CrV hybrid loaded is less than the XLE.
Great job, as always. Ya done, eh!
Thanks!
How does the Signia compare against the BZ4X? Will they consider a PHEV for the Signia?
I love the look. Ever since the Fisker Ocean went away, now its a unique look again. But at 60k, there are better buys out there. Im waiting to see how the CX 50 hybrid or Outback hybrid go
Canadian market needs an LE and XLE model. Offering only the limited trim pushes the price way too high.
Yes, We like wagons and should have more choices than the Americans not fewer. I want a LE with cloth seats and 17" rims!!!!!!
The official body type for the Crown Signia is "Wagon". 😉
Only two things I think this is missing is a HUD and a Plug-in Variant. Both of these would make it the perfect vehicle?
I wasn't crazy about the build quality of the CX-50; my CX-5 felt much better built.
Build quality is a major issue for the Mazdas and Toyotas coming from that new Alabama plant.
Do you think Prime version are comming in the next 18 mounth ?
Thank you!
Been waiting patiently for this one 😀
Do you find the brakes on the Camry better ??
Missed opportunity to put the new Camry powertrain in this. I guess they’re selling the style. I’ll keep my ‘23 Lexus NX 350h, 48mpg too..
With people crossover crazy, I bet the Crown Sedan will be discontinued way before this model.
Not bad. This would be worth investiagting if the top trim was about $1k cheaper than the base trim.
I consider this more of a car than an SUV... And as such it's one of the better styled Toyota cars... Maybe my favorite styled non SUV Toyota of what's currently on the market
Can we fit 3 car seats in the back?
I think is a replacement for the failed venza. But a very beautiful car
Wish they would build a 4 bucket seat option, sans the second row bench for numerous autos!
For anyone considering the Signia, check out the price of 21 inch tires, seem to be in the $800 range after a quick search...
Too bad you have buy these at Toyota Dealerships. As long as Toyota dealerships exist, prepare yourself to be treated like garbage.
Toyota dealerships are worst than dentist.
Dealerships are garbage, period. You have to time your visit to the end of a quarter to possibly get a good deal or get treated well. They want to pump their numbers up and will try to actually sell cars.
Amen
Probably depends where you are. I had a good experience when I went to buy mine.
I’m heading to the dealer today. The anxiety has kicked in. You think any worse than any other dealer? They all have one objective which is make as much money as possible. Wish they just did what Saturn did yrs ago; no haggling, the price is the price. I feel raped after walking out of the dealer after signing.
I’d like to see how this stacks up to the new Nissan Murano. When will you get the chance to review the Murano?
And how many months is the wait time on this one??
Risky buying an RX because they are still getting stolen in Toronto. I kind of like the idea of the car being there when I want to drive it. I don't care whether it is a hybrid or a plug in hybrid at this point since I've been waiting so long for a plug in. My Maverick Hybrid is getting 5.5L/100 at the moment.
How's the driving experience compared to the last Venza you two drove, if you can remember...?
I find it interesting that a nearby Toyota dealership has 2 Signia's sitting unsold, but a Venza Limited that came in recently sold right away.
It's more refined than the Venza with a quieter cabin. However, the Venza is quieter than the RAV4 hybrid.
Is there any plan for a phev?
Where are you located?
@@thembzman Toronto. Dealer is in Stouffville, just to the north of Toronto (a year ago, this was my local dealer but I sold my farm - a lot can happen in a year).
Having to pay BC's 10% PST is a real PTA. I'm waiting for your review of the CX 50 Hybrid.
In Japan, they put a "Crown" emblem on this car instead of Toyota. Looks much better.
Living in Texas where hail storms are a regular occurrence...is the glass roof an option that you can opt out of?
Only on the XLE
Get a garage 😂 I’m in Texas and we had a small hail storm , nothing happen to the roof
The Signia is a bit large for me and almost at Lexus price !!! I would prefer the Crown Sport but unfortunaly it won't be available in North America !!!
I never thought the Crown wagon would come to this market. f the Signia sells well it will encourage Toyota to bring over the Sport. We can even dream about the gorgeous Crown sedan they sell in Japan.
I would love to see a PHEV version.
