None of those beers have been in a glass that nice before
False. 😂😂😂
Let alone been drunk outside of a paper bag before
That's actually incorrect. Malt liquor was originally marketed as a high class beer back when they were conceived. They were popular in club houses and country clubs, and were poured into fancy glasses. But as time went on, the brewers flipped the script and started marketing then through hip-hop and targeted an urban market.
Nice to see Nate give them all a fair shake. Too much beer snobbery these days.
This has to be the most diplomatically unbiased video I've ever encountered on this platform🍻cheers mates
🙏🏼
"I may have enjoyed them at some point in my life but I don't recall doing so"
pretty common with these IMO
Mannnn, I used to be the Cobra comnander back in the day! 99cents for 40oz of fun. Lot of wonderful scattered memories!
“I dont recall doing so..” yes, if you drink these, the idea is that you don’t recall, well, anything. Haha.
I hope to see a Tree House malt liquor some day.
King Cobra is the brand that lured me back into malt liquor after many years without it.
Today we are going to compare everyones favorite 40oz of hangover in a bottle. I like these blind tests of commercial beers. its comical and informative. Who new gas station staple Steele Reserve had such comlexity with notes of caramel.
We made a high gravity malt liquor at the brewery I was employed at. The brewers named it Cobrahorse. It was super popular locally.
Fave channel find of 23. Keep it going. Do you do live shows/tastings? I’m definitely stopping by for a tasting next year.
Excited for the next sip , no truer words spoken. I'm excited for the next visit to Treehouse
use to go on couple's camping trips in college back in the 80"s
I worked at a beer distributor and Old English one of our beers.
Use to bring a whole case of 40's
Around the campfire we would open them all and get them going in a circle until the whole case was gone.
Great memories!
You should have used this opportunity to play Edward 40 Hands with these!
Yep, King Cobra and Ballantine used to be my favorite cheap malt liquor beers back when it was all i could afford.
really appreciate the way he talked about the leap of faith into different beer styles. well done
Great video ! I have family in Maine and NJ so I'll tell them to look out for your beers ! I'm in in NW, Seattle. Thanks for trying the malt liquors. I really liked your enthusiasm at the end to try your beers ! ... I'm more a fan of Pale ales and NW IPA's not so much NE Hazy IPA's ... but I'll try them ... thru to the end of the glass ;-) 🙂
Nate, you guys should do a video with Brad Leone and pair Tree House beers to food.
For those that have not tried treehouse. I can tell you that every time I have had there beers even hours after opening there cans I can still smell and get dank, fruity and pungent aroma coming out of them. For sure an amazing experience every time I get a chance to enjoy there beer.
Being in California I rarely get to try Treehouse beer. But the few I have tasted were fantastic. Among some of the best I’ve tasted.
I would’ve loved to see blindly trying two of these but taped to your hands
I enjoy all 3️⃣. I grew up in the 90’s 😊
🙏🏼
Love these videos! Love your beer too. Local fan. Wish you threw colt 45 in there haha
back when those were my go-to beers it was always which was cheapest. i seem to remember colt 45 was usually it. OE800 and mickeys bigmouth were in the rotation too. but for me they had to be super cold.
I’ve never tried the king cobra. It’s usually a toss up between the Mickey’s or 211 for me. OE I wouldn’t say no to it but I’ve only bought one in my life. Didn’t enjoy it. Thank you so much for trying these beers. I don’t always want a malt beer but sometimes it’s nice to switch things up and I enjoy them a lot. We need your beer on the central coast of CA Tree House. You got some heavy competition here. My favorite being Alvarado Street Brewery however it seems they’ve fallen off slightly as they’ve grown. Thanks again!
I once chugged an entire 40 oz. bottle of "The Eagle" Malt Liquor back in the 90's. Needless to say, I came home with no pants on.
Been there
Do you guys distribute to Portland Oregon area? Just ran into your channel today but definitely an avid beer drinker and always looking for new breweries to check out.
We used to do 2x4 Tuesday's when I worked night shift at an electrical supply warehouse "back in the day". I'm familiar with all of these, lol. One that is not in the bunch here is Evil Eye. I remember that one distinctly. It was a beast!
cheers to the good ol’ days. 🙏🏼
I've had a lot of different beers...I don't think I've had any of those three. I tried Schlitz Malt Liquor years ago. LOL
i wish i could try Treehouse haze here in TN but cant seem to find it anywhere
I have actually been wanting to try King Cobra for a long time. I just don't come across it ever. I really enjoyed Old E recently when I compared it to St. Ides.
You guys need to up your distribution to CA. I've been itching to trying your beer, but I cannot find it.
People in the comments talking like this is high quality stuff haha love it
I would love to check you out! Just ship some down the east coast
No no no you’re enjoying those all wrong… the recommended method is duct taped to one’s hands
Do a blind comparison of other breweries’ hazy IPAs that are similar to yours.
Good stuff....
Fuck yes this content rules!!! I’ve seen the Mexican/light beer comparisons but this is way more up my alley! Super informative! Gotta come check you guys out in person, from NH… KC40 all day!!!
These videos are super entertaining. I live in western CT and would love to try Tree House - I think the nearest to pick some up would be a 1 1/2 hour drive.
I drive 4 hours multiple times a year. It's worth it.
@@wheelsnipe-chelly1221 I'm seriously considering driving to Deerfield this weekend to see if I can pick some up for Christmas. There are so many! Which would you recommend most besides Haze, Green and Julius?
@@61hink I sound like a fanboy but you honestly can't go wrong with any of their offerings. That being said I was just there and Magic of Garston was one of my favorite beers they've ever done. Any of the Juice projects are solid. The staff is super friendly and will give suggestions as well. Oh and do not miss out on getting the pizza!
@@wheelsnipe-chelly1221 I was thinking of getting the full mixed case of Haze, Green and Julius, then maybe one or two more four-packs but the sheer number of choices is daunting. Thanks for the suggestions.
@@61hink You have the right idea. You should try all the flagships first.
Lol this is great, thank you for this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Brave dude…taking one for the team…. 😎
No high gravity hurricane or Mickey's? Also which of these make the best brass monkey? [personally it's always been OE]
Morning Nate. How about Cold Clock? Extra points if you know it
What if Treehouse brewed a high-end malt liquor? I was a big fan of DKML from Founders Brewing. It was a barrel aged malt liquor, which was great, IMO.
Dogfish Head made one a long time ago. Came in a 40oz bottle, complete with a paper bag.
Wow, I wish I would had known about that one.
Agreed, DKML was nice.
Does the plastic bottle make a difference?
To some extent. Amber glass which was referenced has uv inhibitors to protect the contents from being lightstruck. Any beers/malt beverages that come in other colors of glass or plastic will be lightstruck in some capacity. It is why all Hinies, Pilsner Urkel, Corona etc all have a shared undertone of slight match and armpit odor.
Oooh, my man's is for the streets!?!?
40 ounces to freedom....song by Sublime. This reminds me of parties in San Diego back in the day
Private Stock was it. (My much younger self thought, for a time!)
Should’ve had Colt 45 and Mickey’s, too!
Next, do best beer pong beers.
I'll keep an eye out for your beers in NC. Total Wine, maybe?
Just need a round 2 with Mickey's and Colt 45
Treehouse should take a shot at malt. I’d give it a shot
whoa
Do they still have the game on the back of the king cobra label and piss yellow so you have to drink it first to see when you lose?
In what states can I find your beers? Haven’t seen treehouse in stores or bars l over the south from Texas to Florida and everywhere in between so I’m guessing you haven’t made it down here yet otherwise you would’ve sold me I’d be on the out to grab one of your IPAs since I’m a big IPA guy especially ones with really high IBUs. But I absolutely love trying new IPAs it’s almost a hobby lol. Have over 500 different kinds logged on Untappd.
I went to OSU in Columbus OH and they didn’t have it there either.
Idk why but up north and west coast has the best IPAs. I miss Great Lakes Brewing Co I swear they have the best Imperials I’ve ever had and multiple of them I can’t remember all the names but Lake Eerie Monster and Chillwave were both really good. As far as my favorite IPA brewery that you can get in every state is Stone brewery out west.
Although living in Austin Tx now I can say compared to the rest of the south Texas has the best although it’s such a big state we have an unfair advantage.
The first IPA I ever had that got me hooked was Sweetwater in Atlanta where I grew up and blew my mind back before they were as huge as they are now. Although now that I’ve tried so many I feel like there’s is pretty average.
Idk why I decided to start ranting about all this but I hope you respond and let me know if there is anywhere down south I can get my hands on some Treehouse. I travel a lot around the south so if there’s certain states I can get it I can check Untappd to find out where to pick some up if/when I’m there.
That was smart to pour out a tasty lookin brewsky after having that piss water out there makes it look like mana from the heavens lmao😂
Got me a case of yummy Pernicious IPA I just brought back from NC think I’m gonna go enjoy one of those
Cheers! 🍻
Hey Matt, we only have our beer at our brewery locations here in Massachusetts
@@treehousebrewco dang you guys seemed pretty legit to be such a small operation.
Do you have any plans to expand and try to get your goods out to wholesalers?
not at this time
@@treehousebrewco sad to hear that. Especially since these videos you’re doing are really successful and for every person like me who takes the time to write a comment there are probably 1000s more like me that would love to get their hands on some of your beer now that they had been made aware of it through these solid videos yall hve been doing.
So it’s a shame we can’t get our hands on any lol.
Well if I’m ever up that way I’ll be sure and stop by and if not hopefully at some point down the road you guys open up your market and expand to some of the places I go so I can try it out!
Man has lived a pampered lifestyle if he ain't never had none of these 😂 ain't even include the crooked i.
Brave brave man. That stuff is rotgut! A teku glass can make anything look good it seems.
I've tried well over 100 IPAs and haven't liked a single one. But damn that Haze looks so good. I just wish they tasted like beer instead of a sour sock.
Finally you're getting serious.
Camo silver and camo black ⚫ 😍 👌
Wish he did Mickeys. I actually drank those occasionally in college 😆
You should retest by drinking the entire bottle in a single sitting. Curious to see if the results would change.
i would probably give up
I always drink the whole glass, my tastebuds need to climatize.
Colt 45 is where it’s at.
Drinkin a 40 from a tulip glass has to have eazy-e turning over in his grave. 😂
King Cobra and a bag of cheddar jalapeno Cheetos is my go-to hobo meal.
Fine dining at its best. Reminds me of any given Tuesday of my youth.
What, no Colt 45 ?😅
we had a hard time finding any malt liquor at all to be honest - was frustrating. Next time!
@treehousebrewco 🤣 No loss Nate!
Any plans to get distribution on the West Coast? Cheers 🍻
There is no distribution. Get it directly from one of their breweries or find some friends in MA to ship you some.
Mickeys is best then Olde English 800
If you pour one of these into a glass, an alarm goes off and someone shows up to arrest you.
😂
Now King Cobra is sold out everywhere.
he forgot to pour some out for the homies who aint here no mo
I drink malt liquor on a regular basis.
many do - drink what you like 🙏🏼
Where's the Mickey's?!?
No Heffenreffer Private Stock? Pffffft
Steel reserve is nasty. Where’s the 8 ball at? St ides? Old E is old school.
Not to have Budice in here is a shame.
Where’s the Mickey’s’
These are my go to beers for watching the 2023/24 New England Patriots
Maybe just drink all of each
Where's Mickey's?
Where’s the colt 45
Next time - grabbed what we had at our local!
@@treehousebrewco haha was just givin you a hard time.
I give the guy props for taking it as seriously as he did being such an educated guy when it comes to beer.
I know I couldn’t take it seriously analyzing malt liquor and knowing it’s malt liquor. But it’s still interesting to watch.
I bet not knowing what they are really does impact the perception though.
People don’t realize how much an impact brand recognition branding and marketing actually has on taste itself. So when all that gets thrown out the window it’s very interesting and thought provoking seeing just the beer on its own be analyzed by an expert
Good content keep it coming!
King Cobra >
I can't believe people still buy malt liquor.
Never tried before?! Wtf??
If I comment first do I win all 3 bottles?
All the Colt 45, Ballantines and Mickey’s fans are disappointed
2 were in plastic bottles ... doesn't seem like a fair comparison in my op , I stopped drinking Mickeys when they put tha 40s in plastic 👎 how bout a TASTE CHALLENGE ... Plastic vs Glass vs Can ! ...
of same beer !! ?
You must have a palate of steel to even let those cross your taste buds when you have the fine nectar at the ready!
All 3 taste better when bottle is in a paper bag.
These are all for homeless men.
Steele reserve sucks
It pains me to watch you doing this. At least you are not making one of your employees do it.
Next time I'm drinking 40s with the bros, I'll definitely be grabbing a King Cobra.
I find this taste test doubtful and unfounded as he forgot or refused to pour a little of each out for a homie.
It's like a bugger eating contest. Or maybe Klonopin.
Gofundme is live for Nate to get a padded chair
