When this first came out I thought jim carey might have died... cause I was like what kinda of dumb ass replaces jim carey with a stick in the mud actor that looks bored and lifeless playing the mask... Jim is the mask.. no one else can even get the persona right maybe robin williams but thats about the only other actor that could pull of the masks wildy antics and personality. The mask was similar to the genie from Aladdin tons of personality... and emotion... son of mask had none of that it was like here say these lines and look green... get paid done... Hopefully Jim gets his wish and a trilogy is born and everyone can just forget son of the mask exists.

Like the same of his fake teeth are so overly big to the point where it’s not even comedic because the actors cant really express himself properly with it.

This movie is so nostalgic to me. I think I was one of few who actually enjoyed this movie. I think I was also one of very few who saw the sequel before Jim Carrey’s version. So I’d say I was fortunate to watch from worst to best
I really like this movie because of this sequence and Loki. it makes me think that maybe the mask should be in the MCU but alas the Mask is owned by Dark Horse so that ain't happening.

3:23: OK, COME ON! This guy’s mouth can barely move at all, presumably due to those big white teeth. Jim Carrey’s Mask had oversized teeth, yes, but at least he learned how to talk with them. Why couldn’t this guy have done the Same Thing HERE!?!?!? Also, his head keeps getting too close to the camera. It’s movies like these where I look at it, and realise bad sequels like Home Alone 3 - 6 (1997 - 2021), King Kong Lives (1986), Cars 2 (2011), & Jaws 2 - 4 (1978 - 1987) feel tame in comparison to this.
The new Suicide Squad game has the strangest cutscenes.
Watching this scene now makes me realize the creators probably thought “Well everyone loved the cartoon elements and wittiness in The Mask and Jamie Kennedy was funny in Malibu’s Most Wanted. Let’s not only combine the two, but let’s make it as ridiculous as possible.” And then we got... this, I guess. One of the biggest mistakes and missed opportunities in film sequel history EVER!!
