    Wonderful video....the mystical creature got me too ... I was in shock!!! When I was preparing my boxes I prayed my boxes wouldn't go to her processing center 😢 Thank you for clarifying!!! ❤❤❤

    This is a great video Jill! I love how you used examples. It is clear that you have worked the processing center and understand the difference in what OCC approves vs. a creator’s opinion. It can be so discouraging. Thanks for sharing!

    This is so important! Just because a channel creator says something doesn’t mean it is officially from OCC. I am so glad you said this information! Don’t let someone’s opinion stop you from sending items that are approved.

    Thanks for this video! I enjoyed hearing your firsthand experience from the processing center! Things I've heard people say you shouldn't send but OCC allows: nerf guns, owls, snakes, mythical creatures, stars wars or super hero stuff, tank tops/sleeveless shirts, etc. I ignore them and pack what God leads me too!

    I had a question regarding boxes and contacted occ directly. The response time was the same day. Very helpful.

    If you are thinking of who I think you are, she did admit it was their opinion and not necessarily OCC policy. They were sharing what they believe is a good idea to keep things encouraging to the children. But I do understand your point as well. I like to hear everyone’s ideas of things they pack because it helps me decide what is best to send and what others like to send. Just keep sharing for everyone to learn from and each one can decide for themselves what and how to pack as long as it’s within OCC guidelines. I enjoy everyone’s ideas and choose what’s best for our boxes from everyone I’ve learned from. But thank you for clarifying for those who may have been confused as to what’s officially allowed or not! I enjoy all you ladies videos! So again, thank you! ❤❤❤❤❤

    I think I know the group you are referring to or the person, if it’s the same one, I have been following her and the Facebook group, but they seem to discourage a lot of items being sent that are perfectly acceptable through OCC, I do agree that people need to let the Lord lead in the packing of a shoe box. I am pretty much finished with mine. I am also now as of this year on the prayer team for OCC.

    Great video! Not sure why people are so secretive about the channel which I’m assuming is Christy M. associated with the website blessings in a shoebox. She is full of misinformation and judgement calling out how dollar tree items are cheap junk. Her friend Michelle sends her boxes of homemade items and not everyone has that luxury. Can’t call her out either bc you will get blocked. Please don’t follow her. For a person who claims to be a Christian, I became disgusted long ago with her. As far as not supporting Temu and SHEIN bc of slave labor, I suppose she doesn’t realize most of her approved suggested items from Amazon at triple the cost comes from the same place. Her and her friend should really consider doing something else.

      @@batmansboxes4936 That’s who I was referring too. I got so tired of her list changing every time she comes on. It made a lot of people upset. Me and some others reported her to OCC. I even sent the video she did. Video was about mermaids and batteries not to send. I don’t do Temu or SHEIN. I just do Amazon when I can. I find a lot of my stuff in my home town or when I go out of town.

      @ 💯 agree. I stopped watching her channel for a few reasons but mostly because she is very critical. She fails to realize and doesn’t think about that mom or dad who’s on a tight budget but still gives because it may be important to show their child how to be kind towards another human being. I think it’s terrible and doesn’t encourage more people to pack boxes. Unfortunately a lot of people follow her and take her opinion as the rules of OCC. Thanks for the video and the advice for anyone who may be new to packing.

    She also said do not buy from temu or dollar tree, I'm on a budget as MD I get some things from each not everything but some, how do you feel about that subject?

      There are some wonderful, high quality items at Dollar Tree (Fuzzy Friends stuffed toys, Forever Friends dolls and clothing, All the licensed character items, Hot Wheels/Match Box Cars, Coloring Books, Stickers, hair accessories, etc.). I also but some items from Temu. We each need to follow our hearts and how we are lead by God. Please do not be discouraged by what anyone but OCC says.

      Dollar tree has some great items. They currently have a 3 in 1 chess checkers backgammon game that has nice plastic game pieces. Unbelievable deal.

      Well, I guess we watched a different video because the one I watched said Temu and Shein because of their using slave labor. Don’t remember Dollar Tree being mentioned. 🤷🏻‍♀️

      @@KarenYork-t2c in the video I saw she said don’t send cheap toys and her example was the “ dollar tree slinky “ then she called it junk but didn’t want to offend anyone. If I had packed one of those I would feel bad based on her comments.

    • @KarenYork-t2c
      @KarenYork-t2c Месяц назад +3

      @@jacih6396 well now I do remember her mentioning the slinky, but I didn’t take it as “don’t shop at Dollar Tree” but rather not to buy cheap toys. Personally I don’t like plastic slinky’s, either, but can’t afford to buy the real ones. I’m on a fixed income as a senior citizen and can’t possibly afford all the fancy or quality items I see several pack. However, I do try to choose as good as I can afford items.
      I watch several ladies videos and see that a few do and do not recommend things the same. I see disagreement on what’s appropriate and what each thinks is or is not appropriate. I just remember a saying I heard several years ago…you “eat the meat and spit out the bones.” I see things others choose to send that I don’t agree with, either, but it doesn’t stop me from learning what I can from each lady. It saddens me to see folks getting upset at other packers. I think we all are trying to do the best we can with what we know. Just remember opinions are just that, opinions. I agree with what Jill Baird said in this video here…the best policy is to check the official OCC approval list and I’ll add your personal convictions of what you feel God would want you to send or not to send.
