Wow, another great value packed video. I really appreciate your straight forward way of presenting. You give the information directly without a bunch of hype and excessive motivational blah blah blah. Its so refreshing.

@@paidcopywriter No ma'am they're good enough. Don't be a perfectionist (as a recovered perfectionist believe me you don't want that fight in your head).
Value is what you have provided since day one on this channel. Bear hug 🤗.

I've been working with a consultant through my local small business development center. After checking out my website/portfolio, she insists that I shouldn't charge less than $125-$150/hr. which, to me, sounds pretty high.
    What are your thoughts?
I've been in the copywriting space for almost two years, and believe me, I'd love to charge that much, but $150/hr. is WAY higher than what most agencies expect to pay a freelancer.

this sounds right on par to me. i rarely work hourly anymore but keep $100 as a rule of thumb for setting my rates. with inflation (if you're in the US like me) makes $125-150 even more feasible. whats your niche?

@@paidcopywriterhello!! What rates do you recommend for a registered nurse freelance writer? 6 years as an RN, no previous writing experience. I already have a website and 2 articles written for a nonprofit.
      *Healthcare niche by the way
      Thanks!!

@antonvandersar hi, you want to consider what the agencies are charging the customer. Not what the agencies are paying copywriters. Agencies are likely charging twice what they pay.
Do you mind if I ask how you found your local small business consultant?

@@SEOshogun That's a great way to frame the question! Thanks!!
I found the "business consultant" through the local small business development center. Unfortunately, I ended up getting some pretty terrible advice from that person. Had I followed that advice, I would certainly have gone out of business almost immediately. Needless to say, I've since moved on.

what do you say if a client asks how you justify your price or what metrics you're basing your price on?

    • @SEOshogun

I would say that I base my prices on a combination of industry standards and my own availability.
