I was fortunate enough to be fostered by the wonderful Coombes family who lived at strawberry water ( 2nd house from beach ) from 1975-78 ,I was 10hrs old and welcombe was my playground ,summer 76 was hot and had beach, cliffs, woods, streams to pass those summer days by
For me it was an idilic childhood full of so many happy memories
My parents bob & Joyce had there ashes scattered there as like myself loved the beauty of welcome beach and the valley we lived in and I can never thank them enough for what they did for me in a place so beautiful

Wow thank you - this is amazing. Welcombe was our family holiday spot for years and I used to surf it regularly. This is how it must have looked to the Kestrels and Buzzards we used to watch from the beach!

Not Welcombe at its most sandy, but lovely. My childhood. I'm sure you know that it was used as the location for the final scenes of the film of Marianne Dreams.

    Hi Jon,
I work @ Bideford College and was wondering if you would be interested in bringing the Quadcopter over and filming a flight around the new buildings. ? Let me know if you think it's do-able.

Actually I think the film was called Paperhouse.
