    I had my HIDA Scan yesterday and it went great! The test came back normal so no surgery needed! A HIDA Scan tests how your gallbladder functions. Thanks for coming along to the hospital!

    I had a hida scan done about 6 years ago and although the test was normal, the doctor felt that the pain and nausea I was constantly having was GB attacks. Although I did have trouble with diarrhea for several months after my GB removal, I felt so much better and am now glad it's out. No more of those terrible painful attacks. I hope you're feeling better sweet girl. Thanks for taking us along with you!

      I have the test next week. My ultrasound showed thickening of the GB they want to see more for when it's removed. I pretty much have pain all the time and no appetite weight loss.

      @@elisagaydosik768 So even though your hida scan came back normal, the doctor removed your gallbladder? Because the same thing is happening to me, all my tests come back normal but the doctor thinks it's my gallbladder in the area where it hurts and he wants to do a surgery, it scares me

    Hi, Mickey. I had a HIDA scan, and I did have cramping pain during the injection portion of the scan but it wasn't nearly as severe as the pain attacks that I was having. My ejection fraction was 11% but the ultrasound of my gallbladder showed no stones, so I was diagnosed with biliary dyskinesia. I also have gastroparesis, so I'm concerned that something is slowing all of my digestive organs. I've also been having lower right quadrant abdominal pain for almost 3 years now. My gastroenterologist did recommend that I have the gallbladder removed, so I met with a surgeon who is experienced in the most minimally invasive procedures because I have already had problems with painful peritoneal adhesions forming after surgery (the adhesions themselves are not painful, but rather the things that they connect together that should not be attached to one another).
    The gallbladder surgeon told me that gallbladder surgery has a pretty high success rate when stones are present, but the success rate drops in cases of biliary dyskinesia to 75 - 80%. He wouldn't promise any reduction in my nausea and really couldn't promise how much of my pain was related to my gallbladder since I have gastroparesis which also causes nausea, vomiting, bloating and severe gastric pain. I did have the surgery on June 14, 2018, and took the opportunity to have a couple of other surgeons present to remove any newly formed adhesions and pockets of endometriosis. I've had a rough time recovering but I'm finally starting to feel better. As you know, though, since you have gastroparesis, I'm afraid to be too sure of that based on just a few good days in a row, but I'm almost back up to my pre-surgery weight. I had to change nausea medications, and I had some pretty rough side effects and lots of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, so my weight dropped as low as 103 lbs. I'm back up to 108 and my pre-surgery weight was 110. It's still not enough for a 5'7" woman, but I do still have gastroparesis. I have been able to eat more over the past week or two, so the surgery has definitely helped. I'm in the phase where I'm counting my blessings and not my problems but I don't want to get my hopes up too high just yet. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Gentle hugs and Happy Gastroparesis Awareness Month ! :)

      judy rotunno did you have weight loss and loss of appetite?

    • @judyrotunno730
      @judyrotunno730 6 лет назад +1

      Danyelle Jones yes I did. I felt so sick to my stomach a lot so I would not eat. I lost a lot of weight at that time. When I got my gallbladder out, it helped a lot with the nausea and pain. Unfortunately for me the loss of appetite was not just caused by my gallbladder not working.

    • @DANNYTHEFROG123
      @DANNYTHEFROG123 6 лет назад +1

      judy rotunno I am starting to suspect my gallbladder isn't the problem. The first scan showed enlarged gallbladder so on Monday I have another scan to see what's causing that if it isn't stones.

    • @judyrotunno730
      @judyrotunno730 6 лет назад

      Danyelle Jones I hope you figure it out. I know how tough it is not knowing. It took many years for me to figure out something that worked for me. I am still working on it too. Good luck with your scan.

      HIDA scan and gallbladder removable it’s totally unnecessary if MRCP and ultrasound says negative of anything
      If you do liver function blood test ,that will confirm if you have any blocked bilirubin ducts which will cose you problems with food digestion .
      Blocked bilirubin ducts happens not only by stones in gallbladder even when bacteria scare tissue by giving signals to the valve not to open and your blood start becoming toxic.
      I had them both HIDA and gallbladder removed and still same symptoms,..
      i believe its bacteria in the liver which cose liver not to work properly
      Even though everything comes normal I really do believe it’s bacteria
      Bacteria can scare tissue and cose inflammation ,.bad food can accelerate the damage by giving more room to bacteria to expand
      Immune system drops and everything start to not work properly
      To get to the root of the problem liver and gallbladder need MRCP +CT scan ,biopsy and laparoscopic visual examination for the liver if gallbladder it’s ok
      If the problem it’s confirmed ,.more studies need to be done how blood is infected and where to look to identify the problem with lees invasion
      Obviously digestion it’s connected with liver,..when endoscopy from stomach it’s ok
      Liver and gallbladder gone be the problem
      So by doing them tests including blood test i’m sure diagnose will come a long
      A lot of specialists work like robots,..for them you are a number
      I’m not saying all but 30% of them are in a wrong job
      I wish did study to be a doctor,..to help myself and others
      I’m so frustrated with today doctor

I'am in pain 24/7 and I have to take morphine and other heavy painkillers, so I can relate a little bit with you. I try to be as positive as I can be, because I don't want my illnes to take over my live. Hugs from me.

    Did they tell you that you need someone to drive you home? My Dr said I need a driver just wondering if they give you medication that makes you woozy? I had an endoscopy, a gulbladder ultrasound and blood drawn all came back normal. Any advice?

    Any vomiting or nausea after the procedure?? I'm having one soon and the last 3 or 4 months I've been having really terrible nausea and cannot eat much. They did an endoscopy....that was fun and blood tests and everyone. It's just this one test I'm afraid of
