- How to open the gate locked from behind in the Ancestral Chamber.
You first need to complete the 2 side quests mentioned in the video: Gift of the Bow and The Trial of Archery.
Then just go to the gate at night and there will be skeleton enemies behind the gate, wait for them to attack you and they will destroy the wooden plank.
To save the time on saving and reloading and it might not work. Pick up a pawn and continue trying to place them in the right corner of the door frame. Once you set them down walk towards them and it will push the pawn right through the gate.
Note: I had to use Archer and they kneeled down and shot the board. I tried with fighter they would glitch back through the gate without breaking the board.

you can do it with a different vocation like a fighter by using wait and then pushing them through the door and then saving and reloading
@@bubbyt I'm sure you can use other vocations, Archer was the one that avoided me from having to go through the save exit reload process.
It’s insane that this shortcut is so hidden. Without it the map is essentially cut in half. EDIT: wow that’s a lot of likes I’ve never gotten that many thank you :3
If they aren't spawning for you, you can try something that worked for me. Leave and go to the nearby campsite. Rest until morning, save and exit the game. Reload the save, and then rest until night. When you go back in, they should be spawned. Worked for me on the first try.

I don't understand why Capcom would lock this passage away behind such weird conditions. Like, lure enemies into smashing open the bar, hoping they don't glitch out or appear in the first place? Come on. Access is blocked from *both sides* with some random quest attached that won't even get picked up by 50% of the players. They're acting like this is some high-profile, hidden boss and secret stash area to be locked behind a progress wall while it's really nothing more than just a passage. GG Capcom. I don't have to understand all game design decisions, do I?
There is another cave "hidden cavern" think where there r two barred doors 2nd with zombies behind. U gotta shoot the wood to release the zombies then the wait for zombies to reach the 1st door (closest to you) and blow him up, breaking the wood and opening the door!! Seems like a common mechanic in this game!!! 💯💯💯 Can only do it if u r either a caster or archer as I tried to get my pawns to do it and they wouldn't. Only could get in once I switched vocations as I was a thief.
The same mechanic was in the first game. A lot of games have had very similar mechanics, like fromsoft games, It's actually pretty intuitive; must have made you feel pretty dumb if you felt the need to write all that.
Oh and you're the one "acting like its some high profile secret stash" Capcom, a corporation isn't "acting like" anything. There are at least 51 dummies that have read your comment.

Thank you! This door was annoying me for so long and blocking a handy shortcut from Melve to the Elven settlement.
Same! The elven land is in such an inconvenient spot. So happy someone made a video telling how to open that door. My trips will be shortened greatly

It’s kind of annoying with all these doors you need to be an archer to open and you can’t command an archer in your party to do it for you
real. it makes the exploration unfun if you cant open a goddamn gate unless youre a certain vocation
Guys there are some locations you can reach by flying. Some you can get by catapulting. Some with archer... It's fair. Just enjoy the game. In your next playthrough you choose a class to answer that riddle. And of

@@mrlnl13 I change vocations, but you never know beforehand which will be needed in that particular case. I agree with the guy above that it is not fun to depend on vocation when you want to explore here and now. Leaving 5% of a cave or some vicinity unexplored due to vocation mismatch is a very unsatisfying feeling for me. They basically encourage you to keep notes of the places you need to re-explore with certain vocations and there is no way I am doing that.
Does anyone else find it a tad ridiculous that explosive shot on the archer vocation can’t break these? I’ve had other explosions open them, but when I tried the explosive arrows it wouldn’t work. 😕
Yes I thought for sure that skill would work. I even tried picking up one of the explosive barrels in the opening before going down to the gate and nope, still didn't work.
It is ridiculous, I wasted 5 explosive arrows trying to open it coming from the Melve side and it didn't work. They should really patch it so you can open it from either side so it rewards exploration. Now I have the port crystal set at the entrance of the Sacred Arbor so it less useful.
@@SinclairDante yeah I just can’t understand how they could think having both sides be blocked and making it only openable by the enemies that spawn in there was a good idea… It just seems like an odd thing to not allow considering how much other crazy and similar stuff they do allow.
I haven’t played since and it was the only door like that that I tried it on so maybe it’s just that one or a hand few of them. I did use explosive arrows to open a door to a house that lead to some sewers outside of Vermund and it worked fine there. So hopefully it’s just a small over site or something and they fix it soon bc I was really bummed when my seemingly smart idea didn’t work. 😞
No way.....is this really the PROPER way to open this?? I have tried from both sides and couldnt find anything else.
Thanks dude that was pretty simple. But If people would like to save some time, I saved and exited right in front of the gate without leaving the cave and got the same result.

For me the skeleton backs away holding his shield up and disappears. Even if I shoot him he won’t aggro me

I've been running around for days(like an idiot) trying to find a route through to kick the ladder down, to give me the much needed shortcut.. And there it was under the round temple.. All along!
Why do capcom have to make the shortcuts so hard to find? Without RUclips I would have NEVER, EVER.. have found it.
Bro I’ve been trying to get them to attack but they just back up and then disappear I’m guessing it’s because I do it during the daytime I’ll have to try at night
You might think this has been patched as I did. I waited about 10 minutes for the skeleton to finally smatch it. Stay center as close as possible. The little guy does a random jump attack. That’s what finally did it for me.
NO, I infact do not have the fricking shortcut unlocked, HOW ABOUT YOU SHOW HOW!?
So, if no mob is spawned there just save/quit on the spot and then reload. For me this worked like a charm (must be night time tho, also bring a mage with holy spell or some hard hitting abilities because the big undead guy is pretty tanky)
What’s the natural way to have opened it?? Annoying 20 hours in without this shortcut
Thanks for this, I was trying to get pawns to levitate up or the shield springboard me up and none of them did anything. Was getting close to having to start a whole other vocation to try to get that ladder.
Not sure if this will help but to get to high hard to reach places you can use Harpysnare smoke lures........wait for the harpy to turn up and jump grab for a high ride.......
Yeah, I found this totally by accident. Night fall, I get lost, get to the gate and bam! Skeletons. This game has so many hidden side events just waiting for discovery. I'm in no rush to finish the game.
You know you can use harpy lure on Melves side and get it open your self easy without any strange tatctics?
I've done all the side quests for this. Only the skeleton lord is spawning every time (8 times now), he's never NOT there, but the other skeletons are not spawning, and he hasnt attacked the door a single time. Glitching a pawn through wont work. I use archer for my arisen and cant get a shot to the wood, even kneeling down with torrent shot. I want this shortcut but jfc.

this only works if the Skeleton does an Overhead slash. I was standing there for like 30 Mins.
The skeleton only was doing horizontal slashes. what a pain.

Know what sucks? The game reads where you are positioned. So even though I can break a door bar with Flameseeker, I can't do so, by turning the arrow around....which yes... I tried like 10x XD
Lol, great video although for some reason the skeletons look at me and then walk backwards away from the door then dissapear. Tried 3 times and gave up lol

So I found Arbor before doing the side quests (I explore too much in open world games). So I never followed dude to Arbor, just met him at the mountain ruins and hit the target. Even went back to Arbor afterwards, never saw him or got the quest to save his sister...

Update: so the trial of archery is another one of the quests that will reopen later on 😡. Happened to see dude in Vernworth again (same spot) and he invited me to the actual trial. Got to Arbor and rescued the sister. Doze at Arbor for the meister skill and it happened to be night. Got to the gate, saved/title screen and once I loaded back in the Fell Lord (sp?) was there and it opened like in the vid. Hope this helps others.
TIP:dont wait for one to come just save and and return to the screen and comeback they well be there.
On some doors you can use the mage/sorc ice skill to break them from the other side. Not sure if works on these gates but its worth a try

It worked. I accidentally killed one. Then i saved by the gate then exit game. When i restarted the area 2 skeletons came down and attacked the door. Patience is key. Took about 7 or so tries. This was done at night
Took quite a few tries if reloading infront of the gate before it worked. Seemed to be later in the night for me
This is the ONLY shortcut to Melve
....that shortcut was there the entire time? Goddamnit...

it's amazing because there is literally no better way to do this, and if save quit doesn't work, you are apparently internally locked from finishing it, someone said they may had somehow fixed the push pawn into door glitch too so yeah, you might as well get a new copy if that happens
50% of the way shit is designed in this game makes no sense. I don't know how it got past Q&A because even the sidequests require such precise "follow the beggar at exactly 1pm of in-game day time" mechanics. Fuck this game tbh I'm just gonna free roam and kill monsters.
what about the top gate ? it is still closed the one near the drop ladder.
ive found drawing their aggro and using the "to me" command outside the steps caused them to target the door.
It’s just a puzzle mechanic do not forget Capcom made resident evil you know the game known for puzzles and zombies not just being a first person shooter this is just them Capcom that is trying to spice up the game with some puzzles and to make you think

Did the quest, went back at night, the skeletons don't come to life...
I walked up to the door at night and saved, went to the menu and came back and all 3 spawned
he dont seem to try and attack at all and the big guy is all alone
Same for me.......been trying for ages leaving and saving, ferrystone to arbor then go back and still the same.....so annoying.

So you unlock a pain in the ass gate for useless short cut only to get what..? Nothing..? Seriously this game's cave or dungeons are sometimes making me feel exploring them are pointless..
Found easier way to glitching pawn through gate. Did easy first time, use wait command then place a pawn on the right side of the gate, then face gate and talk to them then back out and walk forward towards them, they will go straight through the gate. Hopefully works for you all!!
Tested with another door, I think I was just lucky getting my first time 😂 I found another solution throw a pawn in the corner then instantly talk to them they'll phase through the gate

a skeleton was spawning, then some dumbass harpy attacked my party and the skeleton disappeared.............

Only works at night.
I never unlocked the ladder during the quest and I have no idea how to get back.
There is another entrance just to the north west of the ladder (its just under/behind the spiral stairs to get to the upper level of the forest).

@GamerGuruOfficial yeh gave him the bow and then met him at the ruins so he could shoot the target went to the gate after that, camped till night before hand but when I get to the gate nothing happens I can see bones on the floor on the other side but their just inanimate returned to menu and left the cave a couple of.times go back in but nothing ever spawns
He has a 2nd side quest you also need to do called Trial of Archery (it starts by going back to the same location you start the 1st side quest where you give hin the bow)
