And this, folks, is why Michael Hampton is in the R n' R Hall of Fame. I've heard him disparaged so many times by so many commenters (comparing him to Eddie, Hendrix, etc.), but Michael Hampton's skill and talent are incontrovertible. This dude is one of the greatest alive or dead!!!
+Renski69 The thing is, not many people could pick up where Eddie left off in the first place. 'Outshadowed' in a way. Same thing as SRV, being compared to Jimi.
I was a teen when I first heard Funkadelic. When I bought the LP with Maggot Brain, I was like DAMN....I can't believe a black group could play some rock and roll jam like this. I loved Isley Bros, Who's that lady and shit like that but Maggot Brain jammed.
Mike could play evverrythiing Eddie did note for note even though mike did the solo off who. Says a funk band. Can't play rock Eddie wrote the riffs, and Eddie came. Up with a lot of riffs that mike, Garry, Ron bykoowdki, and blackbyrd did Eddie either taught them or they studied his demo tapes and Eddie made lots. Of demo tapes for anybody to use later on mike, lige and others made lots oof inatrumentals that was influenced by Eddie the drugs album sounds like something left over from 1973
That is one of the coldest renditions of that piece and I've chillin on them since probably mid 70's
This is an AMAZING RENDITION by Hampton, Kid Funkadelic. Thank you so much!!!

They can do this song in many different ways. Has more of a Jazz tone in this instance... maybe due to the location. Amazing!!!
Interesting sound. Soothing. Relaxin.
