Hey Mathieu - I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you. I watched your video on the Tamron 90mm 2.5 that you found all messed up and discovered you had a treasure. I bought one and it's amazing. It's the perfect lens for my wife to use and the shots she is getting are just wonderful. Easily my joint favourite lens (along with Helios 58mm f2). Wouldn't have known about it without you. Thank you so much. (this comment does not sufficiently convey the joy this lens is bringing, nor the gratitude I wish to express)
Bought this lens for super cheap at an antique store maybe 20 bucks. To make things better I bought an anamorphic lens to attach to it and oh man it’s awesome!
Beautiful video, beautiful lens. Works great on my Fuji XT3. Had mine for many years. It does have horrendous chroma in low light though. Definitely a learning curve because it gets so wild.
Thanks for sharing this video with that lens. My Buddy owns it’s been sitting in a box for years so after he sent me the 57 1.4 Konica lens and saw how good it was I convinced him to send me this 40 mm lens which obviously works great for portraits or landscapes and has some character/flare and ghosting which can add to stills or video. I already own the Nikon Z 40f2 and love that focal length so I’m looking forward to using this new lens on my Zfc and my Z5. Konica made great lenses and they work well on digital cameras.Regards Gerry
Loved this video! It's funny, I discovered That Icelandic Guy's channel just a few days ago so it was a pleasant surprise to see him here. He makes awesome videos. Great collab 👌🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 P.S. Loved the lens
I have this lens in my cupboard and think about visiting Snaefellness in autumn. How did RUclips know? I bought it together with an old film camera and I think it's pretty good, but I love old Pentax SMC lenses more.
On an apsc body Meike 35mm f1.7 is a better option in my opinion, and also the more expensive 1.4 version. They are designed for mirrorless apsc cameras, no adapters needed, and they are sharp, compact and lightweight. And Meike isn't the only brand making cheap manual lenses for mirrorless cameras.
what I have this lens and it was so blurry that I only used it once, I did jsut buy it because an old man at the camera bazar recommended it and also had it with him on his own camera.
Even though it's an 1.8 lens it performs better for landscape/street at f4-5.6. at 1.8 the quality is mediocre, it renders bokeh in strange way, not very pleasant, at 2.8 it improves a lot, f4 is the best. On crop it should be performing better, on fullframe I see no reason of using it instead of a quality 50 1.8. I had really high hopes when I got it, built quality is outstanding, small in size and fast aperture got me excited but in the end I didn't use it that much :(.
Agreed. I actually ended up selling mine. For me the CA was just too bad and the rendering just felt off wide open on fullframe despite loving the focal length.
Please don't tell about Canon FD lenses.... please don't tell about Canon FD lenses... please don't tell about Canon FD lenses! I still want them to be cheap.
Thank you so much for having me on! This was super fun - and very very cold lol!

nice lens , and great video and concept to share the vintage vision
Was it used on aps-c camera with adaptor with optics to focus all light on sensor or just dummy adaptor?

This lens is so inconvenient to use and odd focal length that i never used it.
Great now our hidden gem just tripled in price🤷
God damn, people need to stop this. My wallet can't take it.
Mikið lagt á sig til að prófa lensu. Sagðirðu mænus þörtín?
