When I was a child, I used to save every coin I could get my hands on in a gullak a.k.a piggy bank and write across it what I am saving it for. It usually used to be for novels. Because of this, I was labelled in the family as the ultimate saving guru.
But then, adulthood happened and I realised that I need to save a lot of things that are far more expensive than the 6th book of Harry Potter.
I won’t say I am reckless but as an adult, as soon as I’d get money, I would have this itch of spending it somewhere, because I didn’t know how to handle it, especially when everyone around is selling me something.
So I read a few books, spoke to some financial gurus and I discovered that I can save a lot only if I make a few simple changes to my lifestyle. And thanks to those changes, I bought a house and even saved money for my family…and today I am going to share with you, exactly how. So it doesn’t matter if you are a student, homemaker or a salaried employee, the sooner you start, the better!
Today’s Agenda:
So in today’s video, we are going to discover
1) 5 unique ways of saving money
2) Things you must do on the 1st of every month.
3) But most importantly, towards the end, I’ll give you a Bonus Tip to ensure that the money you save, grows automatically so that you and your family have a comfortable present & future.

My way of cost cutting
1. Use public transport.
If I got to office in bike it will take only 30 minutes. But requires one liter petrol that is it will cost ₹75 - ₹80/day. If I use public transport it cost ₹40/day. (almost half)
2. Eat from local shops.
we all will be hungry on the way home. So if i ate a burger or any other so called foot it will cost me at least ₹100. Instead I ate from pani poori shop, or 'Thattukada'(Kerala name for street food shop) so it will cost ₹20 or ₹40.
( I know it's tiny amount of money. But tiny drops can create a pool)
3. No festival shopping.
I never buy cloths because it's a festival season. I buy cloths when it is required.
Also no 'function' shopping. What ever cloth you have bought for a particular function usually cannot be used in another function(Every photo will look the same). So it's a one time usable purchase and it's a dead money.
4. Proper monthly expense tallying
since 2013 I am maintaining my income and expense record and at the end of the month i do tally it. I am using spreadsheet for that. I made the table for myself according to my requirements. I my mobile I am using the app 'Expense manager' to enter all the Income & Expenses at the time it happens. later i ll enter it into the spreadsheet in my PC. This will solve a lot of problems.
5. Don't hesitate to ask(This is strictly personal)
If you lent money or spend money for a common purpose, ask the other person to pay back asap. Because of my monthly account tallying, I know that i have spend some money for this person and I need it back to tally my account. This will affect other people's opinion about you. So it's up to you.
6. 100 days rule.
Before buying anything ask yourself two questions
(1) Do i need this for the next 100 days? if not, don't buy it.
(2) Do I have a similar item that can serve this purpose ? if yes, Don't buy it.
Thank you for reading.

Ladies who say, "these serial insult my intelligence" y'all got my respect.
"I was lucky that I had food clothing and shelter". ❤️ Sadly now a days this kind of gratitude is fading away......
I feel you man
Serials insulting our intelligence 😍 I love you sister 😘
These serial insult my intelligence..😊😊 great yar..👍
Great,
True😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
I have no passion for serials or movies, thanks to that
Fun fact : 90% of the people watching this are students and are not even earning so 🙃
i don't think it is a fun part
Exactly 🙁
so what?? when i were in colz and living in hostel, i used to get 4k per month as an additional money to meet my other needs apart from living or fooding as these were already covered in hostel fee. I never calculated how much to save or how much to invest? that no one thinks during that stage of life. But one thing that i did, was to avoid useless spending to please peers resulting after completing 4 yrs of colz life and coming back to home, I saved and gave 44k to my father saying that it's your left over money. My father got surprised and asked me to have it in your bank account coz it was you who saved it not him so it's all mine. and that was the first time I learnt the biggest and first lesson of these small small investment. now it's been 6 years of working to me and i have evolved a lot of my saving and investment knowledge and moving towards the financial freedom. Just remember one thing, The money speaks only one language and that is , if you save money today, it will save you tomorrow.
But iam sure we will have a better future than the students who waist their time social media for temporary happiness or distraction from stress rather than investing in longterm goals and a better future 😇
Exactly
Why did RUclips have to wait for so many months to show this channel in my recommendation list...SMH
I feel like she's directly talking to me hitting all my bullet points..
Subscribed and of course joining the notification squad...
This channel is gold...
10:40 "Food is super delicious and swiping a card is so easy"😅
How many of u go through this situation??
You are too good yar ..
Didi you know after watching your videos I start saving money & I learnt all about banking. & one day I asked about FD & liquid funds to my father & he surprisly asked me " how you know all these banking matter? Did you attend any classes or what ? " & I reply this didi teach me everything .. So thank you to give all informations ☺
That warmed my heart, Meera. I'm so so proud of you. :)
I told the same to my mom and I have a partner now in my mission😁
Her videos atleast helps fetch you something in the long run. Better than cosmetic and beauty videos.. these days there are rubbish matters available online and diverting young minds in wasteful things.

@@TheUrbanFight i hope the above comment is all u wanted and ur motive to start ur channel ..proud of u dear ..
I have three words to say mam
Your more then a freind
Your more then a motivator
Your more then a guide
Thanks a lot that we have you in India
Thank you mam once again that you think for us much more than we think for ourselves.
The things you speak is exactly how I think. Listening to you is like speaking to myself when I drive in long traffic. It's wonderful to know there are more people like this.
awesome motivation.... one year back only.... i started the same what you said after huge amount of money i wasted to get rid of my frustration and lightening happiness.... now eternal happy for saving money....
From my childhood I am saving money which were given by relatives when leaving us . Now I have more than 20,000 rupees from that only . I think I have learned saving a little bit..
How I did my saving- I came here in Noida in 2010 for a job and now finally have my own flat here. I used to live in a small room paying 2000 per month as rent, because in case I am living there in a society , and paying more for a rented flat is not going to make that my own flat. I saved money and now I have my own flat. I prefer doing window shopping to get needed stuff in reasonable price,Have invested in MIS, TD(post office scheme savings) , other policies, Mutual funds etc for better future. Didn't buy a vehicle yet and prefer to travel using carpool for now as I didn't have parking earlier due to that small rented room , but now I have it so hopefully would have my own car by next year.I love your videos, Cheers....
So happy to read your comment. :) Keep fighting the good fight, Abhishek.
Can you please do an in-depth analysis of mutual funds & how to select them. Also effective planning for retirement for a 20, 30, 40, 50 year old. It's a maze out there?
Happy for you!! Did you bought the car ?
Bro, how much is your salary and how much time it takes to buy own flat ? How much you have saved daily or monthly for that ?
She is just an inspirration...whenever I feel low I just watch her videos and her smile and bank of knowledge makes me so happy
Normally I like ppl giving gyan all the time .
. idk why I'm loving to listen you .. ... you are so clear with your thoughts
Found your channel a little late I must say but since I've found it it's been doing wonders in my life.
Madam, r u from Tamilnadu or AP..
Your Videos are really inspiring..
May be your way of speaking is ground to earth..
That might be a reason..
Savings
1. I used to walk wherever I go even for kms
2. I prefer bus(white board) rather than two wheeler/ four wheeler. As a family, I use two wheeler
3. We don't eat in hotel 99%..non veg, I purchase it from whole sale market..Fish / Meat..
4. We don't watch films in theatre..
5. We used to travel in train for long journey rather than buses in tanilnadu (bus fare is costlier here in Tamilmani)
6. We use rice / Ural dhal / coconut / oil rice which is produced from our land..
7.As my wife is being a teacher, we need not provide tuition class to my children..
8. We are doing RD savings in post office, i have to change it to MF investment..
Kaash aap jesa samjhane wala phle mil gya hota.. Now i feel mene apne lyf k kitne saal barbad kr diye srf ye soch kr dat i cnt afford (apna ghar).. Thnkuu soo mchh maam..
I am 28 and have very little savings.Must say your channel is waking me up .All the points you have mentioned is where I am lacking the most.Having liabilities instead of assets .Your way of presentation is very helpful and motivative .Will try to save money by maintaining a journal for everyday expenses .
If some one is staying near to their office(say with the radius of 5 -6 kms) just go for bicycle as a transport mode, It will help you out to stay fit and healthy and also you can save money which we are spending on transport.
That is a great idea!
I walk every day to office
Yes please make a video on how to find your passion 👍 it will be very helpful for all of us 😀
i am student and i don't save money when i watch your video on save money i save my money ..today thank you so much ALLAH BLESS UPON YOU
Hi, just discovered your account and it has helped me a lot, im currently 19 and working, i got carried away by the money i got from work and was so reckless and spent it all in a month, this month, i opened a separate savings account from a different bank and so far its good.
Truly said, true happiness is found at the end of the workout. I had experienced it, many times.
I paused your video in between and deleted all shopping apps and unsubscribed from shopping haul/Makeup videos which tempts me to shop and subscribed to you 👍🏻😂
Thank you for video. You are inspiring. Happy New Year !
Super Shraddha. A happy New year, it will be. :)
@@TheUrbanFight Haha.. right now I am thinking the same to uninstall all these shopping apps. They are of so much distraction. Bdw I am from lower middle class family.. struggled alot to get where am right now. After getting job.. completely independent though i had to face few months financial problem before becoming completely stable. Recently I started SIP and RD. I am thinking to get a house and start home loan by next year. This is how I came to your channel. But I have problem with savings account. I spend alot. Need to get rid of this habit. I am not able to save for emergencies. Please suggest something.

Thanks for these tips..
I never had anyone sharing these tips.. and I am turning 32 without any savings.
This really helps.. I am starting these things right now.
Motivational! As i was watching this video, i canceled my Netflix membership which was costing 1200 per month and was useless to me as i am always busy and don't use it often. You're a good speaker. Now I decided to create a financial discipline in my life.
I need this in my life ..... I save my money but I don't spend it carefully

*THANK YOU* 🙏🙏🙏🌻👏
Well, better late than never! :)
Keep fighting the good fight!
I'm 38 and I'm ashamed that I'm having to look up to you for advice. I mean it as a compliment to you. I'm over-indulging and disorganised. I really needed to listen to you.
I totally agree with you regarding cooking

It hit me hard! I just canceled my online order and saved 1000 bucks!! Thank you 😊
Too good !!!! One more method that my dad inculcated in me is to ask "Do I really need this thing ?" before buying any product ! That always give me a wiser vibe on expenditures ! 😉
Hats off to you di! You are just fantastic at pointing out what really worth it and what not. Thanks a lot for correcting my bad habits and letting all of us know what actually deserves our attention in life. We are in a world full of attractions, rather distractions, which are making us almost bankrupt till the point we become lustier and greedier to have more and more. Fortunately, people like you have come forward with ideas and advice, suggestions to have a much worthy and fruitful life.
Word!
God bless you for inspiring so many souls to have a better life. May you get all the happiness in the world.
hey sis.... these are the same points which I am following for past so many years!!!! especially Cooking at home, bonus tip, invest in yourself tip... all r exactly matching!!!!
1. Auto wala cost 15rs from my home to railway station
Instead of auto i walk 10 minutes & reach station
I saved 15rs daily
Walking make exercise
2. Take water bottle while leaving home
So that you don't invest 10-20rs for water bottles
Wow women, I just found your video accidentally. From then I cannot skip a single minute. You’re such an amazing & interesting to listen. There is no way to say “NO” for your recent videos. I like you a lot. Good job.! Thank you for your wonderful ideas about savings.!

Thank you so much mam...you are absolutely correct..Now a days swiping a card is so easy..and we actually spend a lot money for shopping and expensive dinner to make us happy..but true happiness can be found in other smaller things in life..and I am going to follow your piece of advise throughout the year 2019..and will let you know in 2019 December how it helped me..I am sure many others will feel the same..

Hey! I love your videos and wanna see a videos in which you talk about how to save and earn money being a college student
Thanks for being my inspirtion💙
Love your videos! I'll be honest, I come from a simple middle class family who had a cut to cut way of spending money throughout life, but never got solid financial advance at home. I've just started earning and obv am just learning about savings too (living in a city like bangalore doesn't help either 🤭) but your videos give me so much info, and inspire me to start saving. Thanks!
Super like..!!! This relieved me from a lot of stress and anxiety about where all my money is going. You said it correctly - "Everyone around us is trying to sell their things to us and make us believe that it will make us happy. I should keep myself away from infatuations on all those expensive, branded, useless pieces of stuff and follow a better 'spending path' now onwards. Thanks!!!
You are so awesome.. I love the way you speak... Hats off dear. I was looking for such a video.. I am happy to find your channel.. 😊 👌
So, this was the first video I watched on your channel(that 2-3 days back). I was surfing and watching your videos when I came back here and wanted to leave my mark ...also I wish to thank you for creating such wonderful channel with such beautiful content !!!🤗
How thoughtful of you. Thanks for being here, Virendra. :)
Hi, I love the way you explain how to save money. My self I save money by avoiding outside food, Also I don't drink, don't smoke, no tea or coffee, even stay at home most of the weekends and do what I like. cooking, painting, reading interesting books, spending with kids, I stay in double bedroom i.e. 5500/- PM rent to save money. Simply I save 65-70% income from my monthly salary even having a family with 2 kids. But also keeping all necessary needs of my family members.
Thanks for the tips. We are all adults and behave like children when it comes to money. This video opened my eyes. This is 6th grade math. What was i doing all these years.
Distraction and stress makes us to spend a lot for Junk foods and Costly Clothing... I have also done the same thing a lot of fines . For diwali I bought a Branded jeans for 7,000 rs which is a waste..
Thank you for this video, I know it's hard to do these things because of many distructions especially food!!!!!!!! But hell yeah from this month til dec 2019, I'll make this as a goal! Thank you 😘
Good luck! :)

Whenever I feel like having junk food take that money and keep it inside piggy bank where its difficult to break. Then hv some vegetables with salt pepper. This habit has not only saved my money but hv helped not to buy the extra calories and it's healthy

I am 20, I started saving money at the age of 15 and here I am still a student but with 30000 rs. savings! Trust me I didn't steal and didn't got any pocket money or if I got some pocket money that was rs. 100 in every 3 months! But I never wasted the money on anything and of course money from relatives was the most! So yaaaaa it is possible to save money! ❤❤❤
