I should have given more details. I have a VPN service. I like how you explained about home protection, no matter who uses it or what they may have or be using. I'd like to know how to install a VPN on my home wireless Netgear router.
I think, it is the vpn should have a time changing to the same region it connect to otherwise it is not foolproof, I have seen that almost all platform automatically detect based on the timezone and not to the ip address.
Rob, in my network I use a Smoothwall Express router which has VPN connection capability. All of our WiFi in the network is done via WiFi access point and therefore all using the router. If I get a VPN account and activate the subscription on my router, I believe all the Internet traffic will go through the VPN connection and therefore safe from data mining. Is my assumption correct or have I left some open holes in my network? Thanks, AG
I share an internet connection with four other separate parties, renting rooms/house/duplex. We have one router between 5, sometimes up to distinct 7 parties. Each of us with one to three or four devices. The semi-permanent IP address assigned by the ISP, that youre talking about, is associated with the router, itself, is it not? Im curious about the level of anonymity those in my household have. Is it the case that 5-7 disparate individuals are being profiled as one, thus confusing the data collectors? Doesn't my current arrangement improve my anonymity, much like a VPN? If not - if individual profiling can still be done despite a shared IP - then disclosing that IP address by itself isnt really the issue, is it?
So without a VPN router having a VPN (service) is actually just a waste of money. What about when you are mobile and use a smart phone which is not in range of the VPN router?
A VPN router is = a hardware VPN, a VPN service is = soft VPN, their function are the same. The only advantage of hardware VPN is that you would not forget to open VPN when you connect to internet you. The disadvantage of hardware VPN is when you want to change the IP or VPN server, you need login to the router and change

I use Express VPN software on my browser... I'm curious how would I use this? Plug into my modem, then plug into my home WiFi router? So this sits in the middle? I use Google WiFi mesh network. Or is your router a WiFi router? If so is it mesh?
You plug this into your existing Wifi router (any) so it acts as a secondary Wifi. You will see your old Wifi and then this new Wifi. The step of plugging it into a an existing router simplifies DHCP. No setup required.
*Deeper Connect Mini* is the world’s first Decentralized Private Network (DPN). Your Internet connection becomes untraceable, unstoppable, and without data leakages or the loss of Internet speed you usually experience on VPNs. that might actually work. If enough people have that device, it would open up possibilities. Although being decentralized innocents will get DMCA notices.
@@robbraxmantech Hi Rob, thanks for your amazing job! What is exactly decentralized? Is it like Tor? Why would users get notices from DMCA if it is supposedly completely anonymous?
I haven't actually looked at the architecture but I wanted to build something like this before. My idea is that a large bunch of users randomly route traffic through each other thus creating disnformation. Since they would be legit home IP's with no VPN, then Netflix wouldn't block. And since it would user to user the traffic would be minimal. But for it to work, there should a large number of people so there's many IP's.

BraxRouter is designed to work in wired or wireless mode (one or the other) so I don't see any issues. However, you will now have two wired trunks so I don't know if your wiring can handle two networks
