Here are 10 mostly technical tips I WISH I had known earlier. Stick with me, they're useful AF:
    1. Use Edison a lot. It's one of the most powerful plugins, especially if you're into sampling like me. It's also a lot more precise to cut your samples in Edison than in the playlist. It has many awesome tools such as noise reduction, blur or a reverb.
    2. Manipulate your melodies. Got a cool synth chord progression? Great. Now consolidate it in the playlist, change its pitch, chop it, add crazy effects (maybe consolidate it every now and then so that it's easier on your CPU), add other effects like reverb or delay and there you go, if you really go crazy with the pitch changing and the effects then you now have a killer nasty trap/lofi/whatever-you-were-aiming-for progression. Thanks to this you really don't have to invest in any pricey vsts since you can make so many different, interesting sounds.
    3. Humanize your drums. Make your snares hit a little bit earlier, drag your hats off the grid, mess around with the kick. It can do wonders if you don't overdo it.
    4. Use sidechains. This makes your kicks hit harder even without compression. Sidechain your kick channel to some other channel, open up a fruity limiter, adjust the settings and voilà.
    5. EQ everything. Every single thing.
    6. Never put reverb on a sound if it's lower than about 500Hz. This makes your mix sound muddy.
    7. Invert your chords, add 6ths, 7ths, 9ths, 11ths, 13ths. Change the bass notes. Use the strum tool (Alt+S). Use other scales than aeolian and ionian (for example, phrygian and locrian are perfect for trap).
    8. Tune your 808s. Bring them an octave higher when you lay them down to make sure they sound good with other elements.
    9. Mastering is more important than you think. If your songs on soundcloud (or other platform that compresses the living crap out of your music) start sounding like you expect them to be and also aren't quiet as hell, you're on the right path.
    10. Analyze others' work and listen to feedback. Also, feedback from fellow producers is way more useful than feedback from your best friend. You need to accept that.
Watch all the In the Mix tutorials, download all the free plugins and mess around with them, and again,
    t u n e y o u r 8 0 8 s.
Hope it helps! I know this was a very long read, but I really want someone to combine all the tips they find in this comment section and become the greatest living producer ❤

Some of my personal favourite tricks/tips are here. Many of you may already know these but, these tips actually helps a lot:
    1. Putting +6db gain on the premaster channel while gainstaging: This is a trick I learnt online. All I do is pull down the master volume to about 40-50% and apply a limiter with +6db gain on the premaster Channel. This helps me a lot to gain stage the Channel. I just put the main instrument at the highest volume peaking around 0db. And then gain stage accordingly the other channels. After that I remove the limiter. This help Producers like me who are just starting out to mix their own tracks. Of course, this is just for gain staging, not for final mixing.
    2. Using templates and colour coding: This is actually one of the best tips I got from this channel. Michael always talks about this. This has actually helped me a lot.
    3. Mixing in a new session: It's always better to export all the channels separately and then import them into new session. It reduces cpu usage a lot.
    4. Making sure that beat doesn't become boring. I just add some new elements in evey 4/8 bars to make sure that the beat doesn't become boring.
    5. Mixing at low volume: I think everyone knows this but many doesn't follow this. You need to make sure that your track should sound good in low volume. This also protects your ears!
    6. Last but the most important one: If it sounds good, it is good. Don't waste your time in making something sound better if it's already sounding good!

A tip coming from someone who hasn't been producing for long:
Don't try to learn everything at once, keep the process slow. Learn some stuff, apply them to to your daw,get used to them and repeat. If you only focus on learning but not applying you could forget what you learned earlier.

    My tips:
    1. Drums: Learn the basics by listening to various genres.
Try making the tonality of the drums same as the tonality of the melody, it will make the beat sound more coherent.
    2. Melody: Start differentiating generic from non-generic sounds by listening to various music.
Try changing the sounds in a melody, and you will see that it will make a whole new impression.
    3. Bass: A simple bass line will in most cases be the most effective. Follow the root note of the chord.
    4. Production: Experiment with plug-ins, e.g. using de esser on hi hats. Try thinking outside of the box.
Also, always save your files as a new version, in case you want to go back to a previous version.
Overall, if you feel like you are not inspired and you get frustrated, don't give up, because the fact that you feel that way means that you love it and that you are on the way to improvement.

Play around with things that involves pressing instead of drawing, physical interactions will take you into feeling the beat and go wilder than just listening it, you can start with your old plain computer keyboard and invest further after then. Another tip is to not be afraid to look at the patterns of other songs, replicate and start working from it.

I started messing around on an iPad in 2016. By now I've just learned that it doesn't matter where you come from or what samples/plugins you use, you can achieve whatever you want.
A great tip I lived by is: If you add a plugin or effect, you have to check if YOU think it improves the production or not. You can't to release something if you don't like it yourself. You gotta be proud of your work.
The fact that I deleted my old tracks and currently have no original tracks uploaded is only because of my insecure self, so whatever genre you make i just want to say "don't be scared and do your thing. As long as you're having fun with it you'll automatically be in the right mindset"

My best tip for beginning producers is to collaborate as much as possible, preferably in real life because you learn a lot about someone else's workflow, mixing techniques and the way they make melodies when your producing face to face.
I'm quite lucky that there are other producers in my area, but if you don't have any producers living near by i think you should try to collaborate with people through the internet. Try to find someone that you can work really nicely with and just try to set up a face to face collab. I think when the person lives relatively nearby the money and travel will definitly be worth it.
Don't be scared to collaborate, when i first started to collaborate i didn't know much about producing. I collaborated with a colleague and told him that i wanted to learn from him and i definitly did. People generally just want to help.
Lastly thank you for this competition, this comment session has turned into a gold mine for producers. I already used some of the tips listed in here, hopefully someone can also use my tip(s) to grow.

1- Learn to use well the tools that your DAW brings
2- Study about Musical Theory, even if it is not necessary, that will help you have better ideas, and it will open your mind.
3- Invest in your knowledge and practice a lot, buy music production courses, tutorials ...
4- Analyze other successful songs and ask yourself, How do I get to the same result? Make remake
5- High pass and low pass filters are your best friends
6- Make collaborations with other producers, you will always learn something new from him.
7- Automate the reverb and delay in the different sections of the song so that it feels dynamic
8- Upload 1db to the entire section of the choir so that you feel more powerful, you can also open the stereo image in the choir a little more than in the verses
9- Use your ears and don't get so carried away by visual
10- Use different types of Reverbs to create deep
    Sorry my bad english.
I would really like to be one of the winners to finally have a FL Studio license, since where I live it is very difficult to reach that amount of money.
    Blessings to all!

One of my favorite beat making tips is to go out of your usual style, try something new and improvise. It's so much better and fun to try a new type of beat. Also when making them, you don't always have to start with a kick, snare, and hi-hat. Try using different percussion instruments like a shaker, cowbell, and maybe even a triangle. You'll be surprised of what you can come up with ;)

    Tips:
    1) search for inspiration in many places
(other styles of music, other types of art like painting, architecture, photography)
    2) Make your ideas more interesting by paying attention to arrangement. Take your loop and tell a history out of it. Change the "energy" (dynamic) of your music, change the synths, play with fxs. The challenge its to make everything fresh, unique but at the same time cohesive, like a unified thing.
    3) Search for undiscovered paths in your daw and plugins. Play with things that you dont play usually, discover new sounds, change the order of effects to see how it sounds, experiment with unusual stuff, break some rules to hear new things. You dont have to do this always, but its a good way for me to "think outside of the box", to make unique sounds, to "get inspired by yourself"
    4) Have fun ! Try not to get super frustrated every time that you dont get the sound that you wanted. Getting stressed is something that I find myself doing a lot when i spend lots of time producing. It don't make sense, music is something that's supposed to be an expression, a pleasant thing to do. Enjoy it :)
Thanks for your tips guys, and thanks for this incredible channel in the Mix !

I've been producing for some time now. I'm still not as good as the ones who inspired me to make music but here are some useful tips to get better at audio production :
    1. Try to create a track, no matter the genre, create something you think that it sounds good. Don't try to compare to other professional tracks immediately because mostly you will realise yours is not that good, this happens to me everytime, so do not worry. You often will get better as you keep creating them.
    2. Try to not work without an earphone/headphones. It is extremely hard to notice the subtle movements, panning, beats that make the music great.
    3. Don't be afraid to send your tracks to some of your close friends. Try to get some feedbacks from them and learn, don't let others demotivate you from making music, even if it's as bad as they say.
    4. Listen to tracks that you find it's very very good and interesting. Try to listen what makes it sound special, and try to recreate them, there is A LOT of interesting and great melodies, beats, effects inside the songs.
    5. Ever wondered how to make some of the effects you hear in good songs? Don't be afraid to ask for help online or so. There are many good and kind producers out there that can help you out.
    6. Try to use a reference track when you start making music. It can help you out in melody and beats making. Of course, try not to exactly copy it, instead try to MODIFY it, see what you can do to it and it might even sound better!
Lastly, don't be stingy to time. You still have a lot of time left in your life. When your track is complete, try to listen if there's any more "bad stuff" and fix them. Create tracks only when you have an idea, don't force yourself into making one as it will only waste your time and doing something that you have no motivation in.
I'm from Malaysia and started producing since last year or so. My first track was really horrible but I still released it for criticisms so I can improve myself. Don't be scared when it comes to releasing tracks, especially telling your friends, they are the best when it comes to helping. I sincerely hope my tips would help someone out, because I based it on my experience when I make tracks. Thanks.

    Mike!
Warmest congratulations on your achievement on 400k subscribers!
My golden tips for beatmaking (and producing in general) are:
    1. Do not over-complicate the technical side of producing! I know we producers like to look for the perfect mix and we endlessly tweak the dB-s and the Hz-s. But that kills (for most people) creativity. Just have fun creating music first! Slam a soft clipper on your master or mixer track(s) and start creating! You can go in-depth with the mixing way later! The musical idea and the feeling is so much more important than the mix (in the beginning stage of creating a song). The equalizers and compressors do not make your song.
    2. Never try to sound like somebody else (unless you want that specifically) - be who you want to be. Mess around with your sounds just for fun. At the end - if it sounds good, it is good.
    3. My most golden tip: to make the track sound interesting, don't use just 1 kick and 1 snare/clap sample. I am not talking about layering. You can create a unique feel, by swapping your kick/snare to another sample in other sections of the beat. Believe me, this makes your whole song more interesting and professional.
    4. Final one: add reverb to your snare/clap and automate it in some sections to fill up the space. You can also add a low-pass filter on top of the reverb and automate it quickly as well for more interesting reverb sounds.
    5. Bonus tip: don't try to quantize everything. Some sounds off-beat create a more natural and professional sound.
In a nutshell: most importantly have fun. If you kill the vibe by endlessly EQ-ing and therefore never finishing a song, you won't ever achieve success. Do not worry if your master is in the RED during production. The clipping won't really affect your sound until you try to export the sound out of the DAW.
I hope this helps somebody. Mike, I wish you the very best and we all want more videos from you! ❤️
    Kind regards
    Nedvio

One tip I learned from "In The Mix" that I simplified and brought into my philosophy is that when mixing, don't worry about the levels sounding loud enough. In fact, you should always look at is as "does it sound amazing when the master is reading -6Db (peak) or -12 or -20. The point of mastering (of what I learned) is the idea of bringing UNITY GAIN across all of the individual busses or insert tracks (as stated by FL Studio). Ideally, mastering is to do several things with key interests; making it dynamically loud where in some genres you may need breathing room such as a Pop RnB jam where the chorus has high (female) singing where synths and strings are harmonizing a melody whereas the verse may be more soft, and soulful. I would recommend In The Mix for basic to advanced lessons, tips, and tricks, but I am constantly learning as well as him and you. Thanks for reading, hope this helps a few! -cJay Chain

I'd like to see more on how to deconstruct a beat, but here's one tip that helps me:
Once I find a beat, I record it and stick it into FL, stretching it out (or reducing BPM) to be able to listen to individual sounds in the beat and then recreate them as I go.
Going slightly against the advice in the video: I also often take a generic beat loop, add it to my own beat, make it quieter and pan it out a bit. It adds texture and a bit of flavor to your whole drum track like a bit of hot spice in a stew :D
I started producing music a couple of years ago and your channel helped me SO much! Thank you and keep up the good work

    Easy tips, but meaningful:
    1) CTRL+S on every step - think about saving as checkpoints in Grand Theft Auto;
    2) Always listen for a guide before you begin your beat - a new song that you like, to get your ears used to the high quality sounds;
    3) Practice velocity on Hi-Hats - they are more powerful than you think.

So here's my tips :D (a bit long though, i sorted from more popular to lesser known)
    - Production tips:
+ Cut the low frequencies from things that you don't need the low end
+ Layer sounds that don't normally go together is a nice way to be creative
+ Export the sound if you're using a trial plugin so you can load a new instance
+ Ultilize small plugins to save on cpu
+ Vocoder are amazing. Try to think of new things to run through it
+ Use Patcher for effect chains that you'll reuse
+ 4 on the floor sidechain can give the sound some movements
+ iZotope vinyl on a stable lead sound with the warp depth turned up gives the sound an unique emotional mood
    - Production tips but not in the DAW:
+ Organize your sample bank. There are many methods but just do it how you like. I have folders based on genre and sound type
+ Don't waste your time on small free packs with something like 8 sounds inside them (unless you're sure that you want it). Most of the time those won't help
+ Instead try to hunt for bigger packs. I suggest cymatics, function loops, stickz...
+ Watch more of the "tutorial" videos. Those "in 5 minutes" or "make music like ABC" are only helpful if you're looking for some breakdown video for a particular genre for some inspiration.
+ If you're on the internet and hear something cool or inspiring, try to sample it. One day you'll open it and thanks your past self
+ If you see a cool plugin or sample pack that is currently free, get it even though you may not download it yet
    - Not really on the production side:
+ If you usually use that feature, learn the shortcut
+ Always ctrl+s. And backup the projects regularly if you can
+ Join the subreddit of your DAW and also some others that may help
+ Feel free to combine genres. That's one of the easiest ways to become more unique
+ Make something new if you're stuck. It's ok to have unfinished projects
+ Record your own sounds to use or to sell
+ Challenges may be a great way to push you forward.
+ Join remix contests to get the stems pack. Those are pretty useful for learning
    Hope I helped!

    VISUALIZATION (answers)
This is the direction DAWs and many plug-ins continue to move to.
    1. Channel Rack - advanced fill (circular visual - you explained it perfectly)
    2. Mixer - color coding for fabulous visualization (eye candy)
    3. Equalizer - FL plug-in (visualizing sounds via the eye/ear)
Visualization triggers a different brain pattern that truly enhances the experience in so many ways.

Always have a recorder/phone around you. Ideas for good lead melodies come up in the weirdest places and situations. Just hum your melody into your phone and you're good to go.
If you don't have any ideas but you still want to start making a beat, try out different preset sounds on your DAW and play around on your MIDI Controller. Eventually you will come up with a lead melody that stays in your head and then you can build your beat around it. Let you lead yourself by your feelings what seems to fit to it and refine the build. That is how you get the best beats.
Also I would like to thank 'In The Mix' for every video that was made, many musicians could improve their work with the help of your Videos 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I won't give production and mixing tips because this man is enough xD
But I will give general tips that I really believe in :-
1 - Stop copying other producers , try to make your own unique style .. Labels won't sign you while they already have producers who has the same taste!
2 - Produce what you like , not what people like , If you made music that you don't like or listen to you won't be able to do it with passion , so you won't be able to do it well!
3 - Always think out of the box. Music have rules , but sometimes it's better to break it ;)
4 - Always say to yourself " I still have many things to learn " to encourage yourself to always learn new stuff and improve your production.
And Finally .. Don't ever get depressed if you felt that you haven't achieved anything yet. If you love what you do , Do it! Even if you have 1 fan! .. That's mean you're on the right path.
Wish you all the best ❤

You're just awesome. I couldn't do it without you. Not much I could add to your well explained techniques, accept to say; layers, layers, layers. I've used multiple kicks of different tones to come up with an awesome sound. It doesn't hurt to use the same keys as your melody or bass either.

    1. Create rhytm in your head, like beatbox and wright it in DAW
    2. add some delay to your snare in ping-pong dotted style with little bit feedback. it creates good rhytm and atmosphere
    3.pitch your samples to tonality
of your track. It will sound much better.

I've started adding a very light delay to my whole drum bus (minus the kick) for that reason. Really cool when you want it to sound slightly busier without bringing in a new element

Beat making is a task which can be done in many ways. In Fl studio beatmaking is very easy due to channel rack
    For classical beat(or house beat)
1- fill every 4th step of kick
2- every 8th step with clap, click, snare or anything with a loud impact
3- Cymbals should be used with kick but velocity should be seen. Cymbal should not disturb kick and it should be a clean sound
4- Hi hat could be used according to your choice to make beat more interesting and full
For classical hip hop beat ( used in
Dubstep, trap or something like future bass)
1- make a melody or an outline of your track in your mind
2- adjust your kick according to the melody like before the kick on the notes which have loud impact
3- snares should be used to make the sound more full and even and should not be used in excess as in most cases it destroys sound
4- hi hat and cymbals should be used in coordination of snare and kick to make beat and sound more full and interesting
Always eq and compress your drums to make the beat clean.
( this was my way but you can come up with something new and creative always to make sound good)
    (Always remember that if
a music is played people dance according to the drum beat not the melody)
    Thank you

thank you for this video! Here are my tips (producing for a long time now):
    1. Always use foleys to accent areas between count 2 and 4. Footsteps, beatbox sounds, leaf crushing anything!
    - Purpose for this is to make your drums sound way more interesting even on a simple beat.
    2. Make sure your basic drum samples are of high quality right out the box. You probably heard this but "you can't polish a turd".
    3. Learn how to use transient designers. TDs help to shape the sound to your exact like (for example on a kick, making it more thumpy or less thumpy or cutting down the tail of the sound to a minimum etc)
    4. Your whole drum sequence has to have dynamics. When mixing percs and the basic (kick-snare) close your eyes and imagine how you want them to sound in a imaginary space. Now try to recreate that in the DAW using reverbs and panning and most importantly gain staging. Stationary drum sequences sound meh.
    5. Try to add "swing" to your drums or if the genre you're working doesn't allow for swing on the basic (kick-snare), add them to your percs and stuff. They instantly make your sequence sound way more interesting!
    6. When making drums remember that the melodic elements also determines how the groove comes alive. Use techniques like syncopation on melodies to enhance a groove your drum sequence already has. Or you can also work the other way around where your drum sequnence is supporting the rhythm of the melody!
    7. Distorting your drums especially the basic (snare and kick) can be a juicy way to spice up your drums! I use a technique called New York compression (or parallel compression) where the dry signal is on one channel and I route it to a send channel and crush the signal to the maximum level my distortion plugin of choice let's me to and simply gain stage the send channel to mix with my dry signal to my liking. This has let me create huge sounding drums while not completely smashing down the integrity of the dry signal!
    8. Believe it or not, different drum samples and grooves have different emotions. Close your eyes and play back your sequence and feel it out. Check if the drum sequence fits your melodic arrangement!
So far these are off the top of my head, if anything else pops up I'll add em. If y'all have any questions about what I wrote, reply to me and I'll write back!

    My favorite Tips
1.(Avoid perfection) Some times spending too much time trying to make the beat sound perfect can backfire , It is okay if it not perfect
2.(Take a break) you may need to take a break from a beat for a while then re--listen to it to sort of listen to it like it's the first time , in most cases doing so makes it drastically better
3.(Tweak) Always be curious about what would sample sound like if a tweaked , in some cases it sounds much better but, in some other cases you learn what that tweak exactly does ,so you have a better understanding for the next beat
    😎

I highly recommend to learn sound design by remaking specific elements and sounds of any song that you like. Nothing better than knowing how to create a certain sound when you have an idea and having a strong basic knowledge will save you a lot of time when trying to bring an idea into your DAW and give you a much better work flow.
Also, try to organzie your sample and sound library. It's a pain in the ass if you have a lot of great samples in between 80% of stuff that you will never use anyway. It may take some hours to reorganize GBs of sounds, but when you need certain elements it's always great to know exactly where to find them.

    My tips for making beats!
    1. Use the swing function to make your stuff groovier
    2. Sidechain your kick to your high hats. It makes a euuuuge difference.
    3. If you have a drum loop which you love and want to use its elements as seperate samples. Put the loop in slicex, then yiu can use your midi input to use the elements in the loop to make your own beat! This trick saved my life.
Thanks Michael for helping us so much!

I’ve been making beats for abt 6 months and here are some of the things I’ve picked up:
    1. When you’re using 808s, even if u made a synth for the beat, always render out the 808 and use it as a sample, it avoids the weird pitch drops at higher frequencies
    2. Edison is a blessing. Right click the wave-form in the sampler GUI and click “edit” to pull up the sample in Edison. It’s great for picking out the exact part u want, then u could even take it into fruity slicer to spice it up.
    3. Side chaining kicks to ur bass really provides clarity to the low end. To do it, just have the kick fx channel highlighted then right click on the little white arrow and press “side-chain to this track”. Then in the bass channel, add a fruity limiter and click the “comp” (compressor) tab and there should be a side chaining drop down and select the kick channel. Then adjust the threshold, ratio, and release to ur liking and boom the kick is side chained to the bass.
Congrats to mix on reaching 400k, gl brother keep it up!

    My tips are:
1.Buy a midi pad(even if you are not producing hip-hop music) it's very usefull, you can feel the beat instead of painting it inside the DAW, you can play it as a drummer and the velocity will not be the same so it's more human(watch out to set the kick level velocity to 100% the kick needs to be consistent)
2.If you have a midi pad loop a beat with a kick and a clap, let's say kick 4 on floor and clap at every 1/2 and in the midi pad have a ride, a crash, some hihats, percussion and try to come up with something around the main beat
3.Use your mouth or fingers or whatever, In my case I'm more fast at making the beat from my head either by hitting the table with my fingers, either by beatbox, then I drag it in the DAW and reproduce it
Those are all my tips and thank you Michael!

Thank you. I needed to hear this. I've been a guitarist/violinist for over 15 years and this past year, due to the pandemic and having so much extra time, I've wanted to get into beat making for future bass. I've NEVER felt so lost musically but these videos have helped put me on some form of path. It's really helpful how you break down a lot of the minor details. I'm used to a pedal board and that seemed complicated at first, but nowhere near as much as even a basic synth. Anyway thanks! Your videos continue to be a source of inspiration for me.

    Beat making tips:
    1) Ghost snares - Get a fast snare, eq out most of the sound so it's a lot quieter than your main snares, very useful for getting more groove (at least for drum and bass)

  • @410Flou

    Hi!
If you are a boombap beatmaker, play the drums by yourself instead of using a swing. You will achieve the more "friendly" and natural sound. A good solution is also to apply reverb to the drum buss and cut the high frequencies which will give the oldschool sound (watch out for the reverb EQ, it is worth cutting the low frequencies, this treatment will emphasize the kick). Try lowering the frequencies from 200-500hz (not too much, around 2-4dB), too much intensity at these freq part muddies the whole song.
For beatmakers of the new school I recommend going their own ways. Stop using Gross Beat like 90% of the beatmaker scene. Try to combine the old school with the new one. Want to have a nice 808 bass? Separate it into two signals: one above about 150-250hz and the other below 150hz (preferably about> 100hz) the so-called subbass. Apply a slight or discretionary distortion to the first one. This operation will give you more control over the mix as well as better sound on devices like smartphone.
If I remember more tips I will come back and write ;) Regards CasinoW

    2. Workflow - Be organized. Name your tracks, name your samples folders, name files, do a clean up sometime. Learn your DAW shortcuts.
    3. Don't listen too much to people saying that your music may not be as good as other artist's music
    4. Keep believing in yourself no matter what.
    5. Listen to a lot of music. Different genres, different vibe. Keep your mind open. Don't stick to a style.
    6. Work with another artist. Two artists in one spots creates a lot of cool stuff.

    An interesting Beatmaking Tip:
It's sort of opposite of Quantize. Depending on genre, sometimes you want to make the beats look live. And live beats can not be as precise as we simply draw it which sometimes kills the mood. so here's a small tip to make it a minor off the time.
    1. Go to piano roll
    2. Set the snap to grid None
    3. Select the beats
    4. Press Shift + Right Arrow or go to dropdown menu of piano roll > Edit > Shift Right
    5. Same way for some Shift + Left
Simple but effective when you want to appear it like that way.

I'm new to the scene, so I don't have any technical tips to share. But I learned a lot about rhythm by studying solkattu. I don't know if I spelled it right but its how Hindustani musicians learn rhythm. They use syllables instead of numbers to measure the beats. I found it easier than counting. It helped me to feel rhythm and become rhythmically aware. Translating feeling into musical experiences is what it's all about. This channel shows you how to do that in a fun and engaging way. Thanks, man!
Also listening to nature sounds like whales and outer space can be inspiring.

Compression tip: most RUclips tutorials I watched didn't mention this, but the attack of the compressor is very important. I found that I was using the compressor knowing what the threshold/ratio etc was but when I applied compression it would sound really crushed with no dynamics. Only after two years I realised that you should increase the attack to allow some of the initial transient through to prevent this 'crushed' sound with no dynamics.
Low end tip: a useful tip for mixing low end kick and bass is to use a narrow band pass filter on the master channel and listen to just the bass frequencies of your mix (30-150hz or so) and compare it to a reference track. It's much easier to tell the difference between your track and a reference track when you're only listening to the low end from each. I've found this incredibly useful personally, hopefully everyone else will.

I'm not a particularly great producer but if I had to give someone a tip I'd say, label the different parts of your beat as soon as you can, because the more elements you add to your beat the easier it is to start losing track of which channel is which and your productivity starts to decline. If you take a minute to color and name your channels and patterns, finding a specific instrument or bus is much easier later on, and changing around different elements doesnt end up confusing you.
In The Mix is a great tutorial channel, I've learned so much from watching these videos that I've implemented into my own beats, sincerely grateful for all the help!

You can create a baseline and then start working ur beat instead of 1 2 3 4 of the base line, use 1and 2and 3 and 4.
Basically break down the 4 bar baseline into 8 and then stack up different elements and See what works :)

My biggest piece of advice for new producers is: make your music genuine and simple. When I first started I tried to make every drum beat super complicated to “show off my skills” when really, coming up with a simple beat that sounds good and is mixed well takes far more skill than just mashing 32nd-note hi hats and hugely sliding 808s together.
Thanks as always for the videos!

Bass tip. You don’t exactly have to hear the bass. It’s more about the feel than just turning it all the way up. Plus, even though bass is more low end-ish, it needs the top end to maintain its harmonics

I'm not a professional but i have some tips:
    1. Get a good DAW that works for you, trust me ive gone through a lot of D.A.W's and not all of them suit my work flow.
    2. Get good Drumkits...
    3. Side chaining your kick and bass really helps with the mix
    4. Explore....(we just need to get learn from our mistakes)
    Last one
    5. Don't listen to me, go do what you love doing....

My tips are : ima just a beginer , its been only few years since I've started but I believe that everyone can learn from each other and one thing that stands out is , like recreating drum loops ,melody loops u , so u can learn from them , not only use them but learn from them !!! and don't be afraid to experiment !!
