Thanks for sharing this excellent video Richard! I last rode the long route in 2022. I did the 42km in 2023 and 2024 so I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video to familiarise myself with the efforts needed at various points of the route. I am looking forward to training this route as regularly as possible to complete my 24th CTCT long route in 2025.
Hi Granville. Thank you for your kind comment and am really pleased you have found it useful. But am super impressed that you have done the long route 23 times! Training for the event gives me a bit of focus to get me through the long UK winter now 👍 Good luck with your training for 2025 and hope to see you on the start line!
Hi Richard. I went through your video. You are creating content on a whole other level. I'm on a hero 7 Black. I usually go through 2 batteries. I like all the detail like the maps and the info during the race. And the different angles is a nice touch. Well done on beating your previous time. Maybe next year sub 3...😜 I'm going to try it on a road bike next year. Busy getting used to one at the moment. My body is not finding the transition to be smooth. Lower back is feeling it. And the legs are working much more than I thought it would. Great workout though. Looking forward to next years Cycle Tour video.
Thank you for the great feedback it’s much appreciated. It’s a fabulous event and I enjoy videoing it each year. I used a software package called Telemetry Overlay for the graphics and edited on FCP. And an external battery to get the run times needed. Am hoping to go sub 3 but as you know it’s not easy and needs a bit of luck at least for me! Getting a good position on a road bike is key for comfort maybe with the help of a bike fit. Then build up the ride times as you know. Hope it goes well and maybe see you at the event!
@@mangofilms1161 I'd love to ride it again in 2025 as well. I last did it in 2015 when I was living in CT (albeit the shortened route due to the fires) and I also rode it as a 12-yr old back in 1987...it was 104km back then and finished in Camps Bay
Thank you, much appreciated. It’s a tough race but worth it for the excellent organisation and spectacular scenery. Correct yes used Telemetry Overlay for the data visualisation and then edited on FCP, and created 5 camera streams that I cut between for the different views. Ran two GoPro 12’s with external extender batteries for the footage

Awesome training video, well done. This is helping me with my training for next years event on rainy days😀💪
Thank you for the kind comment. Great to hear you liked it and that it’s helping the training, I do the same! Good luck for 2025 👍
Stumbled across this and found it very enjoyable. Bucket list event.

@@mangofilms1161 I am almost 100% sure we will not see each other next year. But maybe if I do good on the road bike I'll see you in 2026.

Great footage of this iconic event!
Thank you glad you enjoyed it. I think it’s the best event of its kind in the world- hope to be back in 2025!

This is just fantastically good video footage, thanks for uploading - I use it on my indoor trainer quite a bit!
Thank you Nicholas for your kind comments and glad you are finding it useful - I do the same myself! Hope to be back for another go in 2025 👍
Wow, super cool footage! Congrats on a superb race as well. So good!!!
Did you use Telemetry Overlay to bring it together?
