I watched this entire VOD for several reasons. 1. Adam is great. No notes. 2. Subnautica is one of my favorite solo player games of the last ten years. I spent a LOT of time in this game and Below Zero. 3. Okay, so two reasons. This was fun to watch, and I kept anticipating a big jump scare whenever he swam to the west, but he unfortunately never went to any truly dangerous areas until the strim was ending. We heard the roars, but never saw one! Dang nabbit!
I would say Subnautica is more of a Thriller than a Horror game. Not really any jumpscares, but it does take advantage of you if you're not paying attention. But if you can learn the world and the biomes, it becomes a pretty solid base-building / survival game with a solid End Goal.
I'm coming to the conclusion that having any amount of Thalassophobia actively makes you play this game wrong, this is like the third time I"ve seen a first-timer refuse to stick their head below the water and just try to swim directly for the ship.
You can tell Adam isn't used to streaming by himself, because whenever he's alone he mumbles like he's talking to himself instead of other human beings.
So sad that Adam said this was probably a one off stream. Such a good sleeper spoop game

Well done Adam! Confronting your fears, and on stream no less, is harder than people think.
Game is 100% a horror game for anyone who fears the open ocean. Adam when he opened the bottom hatch at night I was also like NOPE
2:14:13 "I'd be surprised if anyone watches all the way through this." Still here, Adam, waiting for you to leave the beginner zones. :P
I do not know how Adam didn't encounter a reaper in 3 hours!
"Just one sulfur?!" And that's when Adam truly started playing Subnautica :P
"I just don't like the ocean, dude" just sounded like a deep emotional moment in a surfing movie
1:19:45, One LRRsman once said, "Easy game, easy life." and that made a huge impact on how I play games.
This is one of my favorite games of all time, and I'm super excited to watch the new player experience all over again!

Are you telling me you've never been jump-scared in Subnautica? What's your secret?
Subnautica is such a fantastic game, I really hope Adam decides to put some more time into it.
Watched this live and had a blast. Really hope it gets picked up for a longer playthrough.
I can't believe Adam hasn't made a knife in the first hour.
I was scared of everything and carried the knife everywhere.
This was one of the games that got me through covid. Absolute banger
This game is legitimately spooky 🫣

never knew i needed this until i saw it on my feed! I hope we get more subnautica!
I've never been able to bring myself to play this game, for similar phobia reasons, so really impressed with Adam here.
Watched the whole thing Adam. Love watching people play this game blind. It’s so good.
Incredible game, definitely a horror game. Love to see this
I just got this game for Christmas! And the spoops are real
I watched the whole thing but am a sucker for Subnautica
Definitely scared me enough to be on let's nope
Please play more!
Damn, I think I have to reinstall. I was about 75% through when a bug stranded me in an underseas cavern. Maybe they've fixed it since then.
Joke is on you, Adam. I watched all the way through this thing!
Wow, 3 hrs went by real quick!
🎵somethings alive in the ocean🎶
Turns out your PDA AI is a big Cathy stan. She's ACK-wired.
