As a Chinese living in the US, and Guangzhou is my hometown, this Hilton is very old and mainly used for conventions only. I would recommend you stay at the Rosewood Hotel for a night for the city experience. Its totally worth the money.
Try find a hotel with a robot delivery service, it's the most mind blowing thing I experienced in China's hotel. Just order a food delivery and there will be a robot instead of a human who takes lift itself and deliver the food to your door

For the record, your stay in MOKL, KLCC was also epic. But, there are plenty more 5 star hotels in KL that are far more affordable and cheaper than MOKL, Traders Hotel, Four Seasons Place in KLCC, or other luxurious hotel brands like Ritz Carlton, St Regis. Most of 5 star hotels will include breakfast buffet in the daily rate. There are many other 5 star hotels near the KLCC prime area, one of them is the older ShangriLa Hotel. The room is quite modest. I think the breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet could be one of the best in KL especially around Ramadan buffet or the seafood buffet section with some freshly cooked meal stations. Next time in KL, get the value for your money 5 star hotel staycation guys.
many indoor swimming pools in China (and Italy, and Spain, and France, and some indoor pools in Japan ...) have a mandatory swimming cap requirement. it minimize pool filter clogging up.
The megacities in China has unofficial 6-star and 7-star hotels that are ranked as gold and platinum on c-trip. 5 star hotels in guangzhou are only considered high end and not luxury
You have to try Rosewood, Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Park Hyatt, Ritz Carlton in Guangzhou, they all are rated from 200-400 Euro, it's quite cheap and very much worth of its value, much better than luxury hotel in US where you have to spend over 1000 Euro to stay in only poor 30 sqm room with bad design. Asia is the best place for hotel as it provides the lagrest room, the best design and grearest view, and of course, very modern.

You may try ATOUR HOTEL, it's not a luxury hotel, but a new brand then designed for the young generation, but the service is super great, you can ask anything you can think of from them, and they even offer earplugs. And if you order online food by Meituan or others, then most deliveries are done by Robots. Last summer, we tried lots of different hotels in China, it is best for all of our families.

This is hardly a 5 star hotel by the Chinese standard, more like a 3. Yes their services are decent but there's nothing unique or impressive about it. You guys need to find those special seven star hotels in tourist areas or in tier one cities which need to be prebooked a few months or years prior to your stay, they'll make this hilton looks like airbnb or youth hostel lol Also China is not futuristic, China is just in 2024, that's it. It's that some countries' infrastructures are still in the last century and they would rather spend their money on making weapons than fixing their cities which is why China is on their "reconsider travel list" cus they don't want their people to see the real China and realise how incompetent their governments truly are.
Staying in 5 stars hotel is really staying in top notch value for money accommodation. While in the US, u r like staying in a hotel last renovated in the 80s.

You should try the Trident Hotel in Hyderabad, India! The curtains are remote controlled. The view is modern India. They even give bath bombs for the bath tub! The breakfast is healthy because half of the options are vegan.

I strongly recommend that you visit Shenzhen, the technology hub of China. It only takes half an hour by high-speed train from Guangzhou.

Given the distance of Guangzhou South Station from the city centre, taking the intercity train from Guangzhou East Station might be a better idea.
