Hee Tae becomes the pride of Gwangju when he enters Seoul National University College of Medicine with top marks. His best friend Kyung Soo, an avid pro-democracy activist, insists that they open an illegal clinic for students on the run from the government. One day, a factory worker is injured during a protest. In exchange for the costs of discreetly transporting himself and the factory worker to his hometown, Hee Tae must go to a meeting with a potential marriage partner arranged by his father. At this meeting, Hee Tae meets Myung Hee, a nurse persevering through the hardships of life. She only agrees to go to this meeting in place of her friend Soo Ryeon, because she needs to come up with the airfare to go study in Germany. However, Myung Hee and Hee Tae end up falling in love. In May of 1980, amidst the heated passion and cries for democracy that reverberated throughout Gwangju, Hee Tae and Myung Hee find themselves in a twist of fate.

Ive never fell this hard for a fictional character but damnn Hwang Heetae is really the standard!! Lee Dohyun has done a great job playing this role im looking forward to more of his works 😍

His short laughter between dialogues from the first 3 episodes is a mood in itself. Such an old soul. Somehow this kdrama gives out the similar vibe of Chicago Typewriter and Mr. Sunshine for its political plot. May 18 is coming up, I hope they show an episode honoring what this date mean to SoKor youth of the 80's.
Ikr, I'm putting it off for now knowing how promising it is. Sometimes, we have to save ourselves from the agony of watching on-air dramas hahaha

YOUTH OF MAY will always be one of my favorite Kdramas. I'm happy we got DOMINSI acting together for "REINCARNATION LOVE" even though it was only 6 minutes long. The references to YOUTH OF MAY made me emotional 🥺♥️

Hee Tae didn't know who she really is until he showed up at the beginning of EP3 at her friend's house. What he knows is that he likes the littlest things about her. When he found out the truth about who she is, he wasn't shocked, but rather relieved since it all make sense why she struggled in heels and did the things she did on her blind date with him.
I think he knew it all along. He have seen her at the hospital and had a couple more encounters before the date happened. He was simply charmed by her so he couldn’t really care less about who she really is.

heetae knew it about she lied, so heetae teased her in taxi, asking about studying law, while heetae knew that myunghee is a nurse 😄😄😄
