      Both QBs stink and need to leave. Short yardage RUN RUN 3rd & long, and short yardage RUN RUN 3rd & long QB RUN produce the same putrid results. Nothing will change until the head coach is gone. He's too stubborn to change and adjust to the elite teams.

      I was arguing with some "sports writer" (so he says) on Twitter last night about Tomlin. He thinks Tomlin is the greatest thing ever....
      Anyway, this play happened at the time and it proved my point (that Tomlin is not a good in game coach). Even if you make it, you've done nothing all game on offense, so do you really think you're going to score with 43 secs and 1 timeout? It was so pointless to try that there. At the end of the 4th quarter? Absolutely! But it was just half time! Why risk that?

    • @dionellwalker9762
      @dionellwalker9762 2 дня назад +1

      If you had a issue with Tomlin's decision to start a 6-5 quaterback over a 4-2 quaterback then I'd agree but your complaining about his decision to go for a 4th and less than a yard is Ludacris. This is the NFL which stands for ' NOT FOR LONG ' if you can't convert short yardage plays such as that, if you can't pick up that short yardage you don't deserve to win. To criticize Tomlin but I hear crickets from the same group who hates Tomlin when Dan Campbell informs the opponent he's going to kick and onside kick whith an entire quater remaining in a 6 point game. Campbell goes on 4th down routinely in situations where distance is 5 or more yards and in these scenarios his team fails but no one criticizes him for the most head scratching calls but you for one criticizes Tomlin on a 4th and less than 1 yard call, you more than likely have ulterior motives.

    • @chadhero37
      @chadhero37 2 дня назад +1

      @dionellwalker9762 it's not smart football. You can justify it all you want, but Steelers have done NOTHING on offense all night.
      You have to weigh the pros and cons
      Pros
      1) you get the first down and probably still need to punt (on the next series) or the clock runs out. The odds of scoring were about 10%
      Cons
      You give them the ball in scoring position and they add to their lead.
      Call it what you will, but the odds were certainly not in their favor to go for it there

    The offense is trash but it’s the lowest paid in the league, like what do you expect. This is an organizational failure. Tomlin loves to talk about complimentary football but spends the entire salary cap on the defense. Of course you’re not gonna score points and the defense will be on the field the whole game when you build a team like that. There’s nothing mystical about it…

    Russell Wilson is 6-5 this season compared to Justin Fields 4-2. If Tomlin starts Wilson in the playoffs then the Steelers will be one and done again. Wilson couldn't pick up a 3rd and less than 1 yard where the Bengals had practically surrendered the first down. Arthur Smith practically gave away a down when he called a play for Wilson to pitch the ball to Patterson. Arthur Smith isn't a good offensive coordinator in the NFL

      I want Fields to start because the loss would be even more embarrassing, which is the only way this FO might consider that real change needs to occur.
      With Russ, there is a tiny chance that he remembers how to be a good QB and gets us a narrow victory. This would be the worst-case scenario because then Tomlin's poor coaching and putrid schemes would be justified.

Our offensive line more so the tackles have been pretty bad, but Wilson can't say anything or really do anything about it. It has to be on the Offensive coordinator to work around it with short passes in a spread offense. When you have a bad oline the worst thing you can do is try to pound it anyway. By doing this, you just make it so you cant run or pass consistently enough to matter.

    It’s really simple. Defenses use cover 2 shell to defend the 50/50 ball which is how Wilson got his big yardage passes. He has no answer for it. None.
    I get it. Fields doesn’t throw as accurately, but he enhanced the running game, allowed receivers to get open and gives the Steelers the best chance to win. He did complete passes. He isn’t just a running back. Always remember, fields had oline causing drive killing penalties.
    The bears didn’t get better after releasing fields.
    Everyone wanted to see fields stay. It was only tomlin who wanted the change. The change worked against 2-8 teams. It isn’t working now.

The Steelers need to due their due diligence and play Fields to see what they have in him. Chris believes that Wilson is a capable quarterback

Fields never throws anyone under the bus and says all the right things. He would give them a dimension. And it would have been great to “see” if he would have developed more. And Fields might have thrown 3 passes sense he got benched not fear to say he did not make the throws when he got the chance sense Russ got in he delivered on some big first downs but really they just have not used him. Why people thought Russ could be more than what he has been for the last three years Denver saw that he was check down man last year. And yes Russ seems like a great game. Pickens is so good... you know he's gonna get 1 or 2 good catches per game. What? That's not gonna get it from your #1 WR. We need #1 getting 7-8 catches, 80+ yards per. Not too mention no viable #2 WR option. Muth is decent, but he's not a WR! We all knew this need starting as last season ended. Obviously neglected... so here we are. How long will it take to realize Dan Moore is a dud? Notice all the help Bengal RT got containing TJ Watt. Yet Dan Moore fails all night flying solo against league sack leader??? Did TomTom make any adjustments? Terrible coaching tonight. Another silent night from Minkah. And Queen doesn't play fluid... he looks slow, clunky and uninspired at times. Some guys play with fire. The DL & Edge are the strength of this team. I'm not saying a complete overhaul for team, but some of these overrated guys seem complacent so need to be moved. Continue to build OL... but WR & QB has got to become the priority. Go after Donaldson if he becomes FA. Seriously address the WR position, not with patchwork hoping to hit on luck.

    Why do these headlines consistently target Russell Wilson? The receivers could not get separation for most of the game. Also both Pickens and Friermuth had multiple drops at pivotal points in the game and the Offensive line has been like a bunch of dead soldiers: no protection. Additionally Najee had only 36 yards rushing making us one dimensional and the defense couldn’t stop a parked car in the first half. Lastly and most importantly the coaching and schematics were abysmal in this game so anyone I repeat anyone who places the blame for us losing this game on Russ has the intelligence of an underdeveloped fruit fly. The Steelers got 99 problems and Russ ain’t 1! And for all you Russ haters he is and will always be more accurate and a better QB option than JF and that is why JF is riding that bench and holding the clipboard point blank period!👊🏾

      Receivers “can’t separate” because Wilson can only make certain throws. DB’s take away the ones he can.
      The offensive line gives up sacks because Wilson has trouble dissecting coverage and holds the ball too long. He’s always had this problem but when he was younger he could use his legs to compensate. Those days are gone.
