@@Tree_Boss Yea the older couple who lived here before me were really into planting all kinds of things, most are great now that they are 20/30 years old, I'm so glad they did. But the bamboo was a big mistake, I have about 3 different types, from gigantic, to 1 inch, its a mess, the roots spread like wild fire, I also live in Florida, so it likes the weather. But you can build stuff out of it.
@@charlesmiller7861 Wow that sounds insane! Especially in Florida I can imagine it grows even faster out there! Yeah a lot of people recommended a bunch of stuff that could have been made with the poles. All sorts of stuff.
Have you ever thought about giving the bamboo leaves to an animal/guineapig rescue or shelter? The guineapigs love the leaves and it would certainly help the rescues.
Wow great idea. We've only ran into bamboo acouple times. Never a project this big where it was so much bamboo. Ill definitely keep it in mind for next time! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
Why cant the bamboo go to the landfill? Is it too jagged and sharp, cost more? So dumping the bamboo at your shop is better, what do you do with the bamboo ?
I learned later that its fine to dump. I always thought since it grew like crazy a lot places wouldnt accept it. We dump it at our shop since we have some room to dump. We dont do anything with it. We spread it with the rest of our chips. Thanks for taking the time to watch!
Nasty bamboo pal. Clog after clog equals slow production. Just some fyi: In the service we had to shred classified paper/documents and fed 12 to 16 inch scraps of 1x4 or 1 x6 or 2x4,6 wood in shredder every 5-10 minutes. Kinda like clearing your throat of flem if ya know what I mean?? Food for thought with the bamboo clogs if ya haven't already tried it. Good luck👍👍👍
Man I've been running that shredder comment around my head all day. Makes 100% sense now. Run a nice peice of wood once in a while to clean up the shoot. Instead of just the bamboo at all times. Sounds like a great idea. Appreciate the feedback! Thank you
Not sure if that process would suit your bamboo application but maybe worth a shot from those aggravating clogs, not to mention down time. Best o luck 👍
Found out later that a lot places actually do take the bamboo. The only real way to get rid of the bamboo is to completeley get rid of the root. Which is sometimes impossible. In this situation since there was so much of it. We let the customer know that he is going to need to maintain it if not it will grow again. Bamboo is one of the most difficult thing to stop from growing. Heard a lot of home remedies to get rid of it. What we did was grind all the roots an clean everything up but it still might come back.
Thanks for taking the time to watch! So you can actually see part 2 here ruclips.net/video/WvVEAKb90oA/видео.html You'll see us knock out all the stump grinding this one might be better than beginning removal.
to fully rid bamboo you have to know how it works and use it against itself. stiffle its growth by using how it grows. it takes a minimum of 4 years to get it to "d!e" honestly. and daily working on it to make sure its not less than a foot in growth if you decide to tackle it with chemicals. so many factors. People really dont think when they plant invasive and awful.
What we did for this customer was after removing the bamboo we came in with the stump grinder and grinded the whole area. You can see in our next video us finishing it to have an idea. Bamboo is very difficult to get rid off completely but we tried our best to get the roots as well.
Just our regular climbing saws. It definitely eats up the chain for sure also destroys the blades on the chipper. With this much bamboo you basically cant avoid it but we sharpen the teeth regularly during jobs so its not to bad. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
Bamboo is such an issue where I live it’s actually illegal to plant it. Other than digging out all the ground where the bamboo is,how do you keep it from returning.
Wow! Yeah here in nj is legal to plant how ever you can't let it overgrow. What we did in this instance was stump grind the whole area. Link to the vid for that is here ruclips.net/video/WvVEAKb90oA/видео.html . I've heard of some home remedies to get rid of it but your best best is dig out every layer of root you find.
They understood they would need to keep maintaining it. We completely grinded all the roots in hopes of making it minimal work for them. Appreciate the comment
Appreciate the comment. Bamboo is a great if your going to be harvesting it since it grows very easily. It can be used for tons of things. The bad is that it will basically grow any where even in places you dont want it. People have completely removed it even with roots an some how for some it grows back. There is a couple home remedies ive heard of but havent tried. We deal with it here an there out here in Jersey. Not much but when we do its usually because its already out of control. Its tough clogs chippers etc completely destroyed our blades on the chipper. Leaving them un usable haha thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching! He actually hurt his paw while I wasnt home that day. I knew something was up! He usually jumps rite up.
Question did u cut bamboos with chainsaw? Was there any issue with bamboos on the chipper blades?
I sure wouldn't mind having some of them Shrubbery bushes
Bamboo never dies, customer didnt need to save a few stalks, in a year or 2 he will have the whole yard full of it again, stuff spreads like wild fire, neighbors probably have it showing up in their yard already. Dont think they have found a way to actually kill it yet. Im living the nightmare as we speak. You cut it to the ground and it laughs at you :)
Oh man! Yeah bamboo is horrible! Theres actually a part 2 to this video. Where you can see that the neighbor was dealing with some as well. Good luck hopefully you can get rid of it! Ive heard of a couple home remedies that might help. Appreciate the comment brother!
All sorts of stuff.
how long stays this garden free from bamboo?
@@Tree_Boss Thanks for getting back to me,that makes sense. We don't have Bamboo in Canada. But we do have snow. Lol.
@@mhenhawke5093 No worries . Would have never thought that Canada had no bamboo. Wow that's crazy to me since Ive seen bamboo all my life lol
Amazing .
Thank you for watching!
So how do you get rid of bamboo so it don't come back ...yoù said the recycling site won't take it....
Aww no stump grinding ? I need to make sure the roots come out on a job coming up this spring 🤔
Thanks for taking the time to watch! So you can actually see part 2 here ruclips.net/video/WvVEAKb90oA/видео.html
You'll see us knock out all the stump grinding this one might be better than beginning removal.
@Tree_Boss I just watched it thanks !!!!
to fully rid bamboo you have to know how it works and use it against itself. stiffle its growth by using how it grows. it takes a minimum of 4 years to get it to "d!e" honestly. and daily working on it to make sure its not less than a foot in growth if you decide to tackle it with chemicals. so many factors. People really dont think when they plant invasive and awful.
Thanks so much for taking the time to watch! Your 100% rite. Appreciate the comment.
wow that was a lot of bamboo
It was a crazy amount haha thanks for watching!
How much did you charge them ?
Now that the bamboo is cut down. How do you completely get rid of it. I hear and have seen bamboo grow back.
What we did for this customer was after removing the bamboo we came in with the stump grinder and grinded the whole area. You can see in our next video us finishing it to have an idea. Bamboo is very difficult to get rid off completely but we tried our best to get the roots as well.
We had/have it still -30 years later--it's a beast but ought be left to grow in the orient its native land,,
@@barbrabarcal6213 100% thank you for taking the time to comment!
How i wish to get those bamboo for my garden for free😁😁
Haha wouldve helped a lot if someone took them! Thanks for watching!
what chainsaw for the bamboo? I always hear it eats up the teeth
Just our regular climbing saws. It definitely eats up the chain for sure also destroys the blades on the chipper. With this much bamboo you basically cant avoid it but we sharpen the teeth regularly during jobs so its not to bad. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
@@Tree_Boss yeah just trying to learn a little. I've got a 30 x 10 patch of bamboo im trying to wrangle at my place and it's giving me hell
@@Tree_Boss my dad had bamboo that had 30 runners from the bamboo bed before it sprouted out in the yard.
@@nancykennon310 Wow! yeah bamboo is serious stuff.
If you didn't remove the roots those bamboo are probably back by now
They didn’t understand bamboo takes over quickly 😮
They understood they would need to keep maintaining it. We completely grinded all the roots in hopes of making it minimal work for them. Appreciate the comment
How much does a job like this cost?
Damn I would hate to receive the invoice for that job. 😬
100% haha but we gave them a really good price!
Why is bamboo such a bad plant? I live in Montana ,and know nothing about this plant. You and your crew are real professionals.
That bamboo will grow right back. You need to dig the roots up. It's a very invasive plant
Made the mistake of planting some bamboo. Much work getting rid of it.
Yeah bamboo is incredibly difficult to remove completely
Good job. Later
good job aI can I work with You thanks good video
Thank you!
Might as well get the roots of the bamboo up also . No need to leave the roots
Tommy here's a link to the next video where we finished the job. ruclips.net/video/G6I00z6Hri8/видео.html
Thanks for taking the time to watch!
Set my bamboo on fire then till up the roots remove as much as I could and kept tilling every couple of weeks finally getting rid of it. Green bamboo will burn.
Wow never knew it would burn with out letting dry up. Gotta maintain it if not it will be rite back! Thanks for watching
That Bamboo will haunt them forever with coming back unless somebody knows something to use i havent tried yet
We passed our stump grinder on all the roots as well as cleaned everything up. Bamboo is very difficult to get rid off but you can see what we did here. ruclips.net/video/G6I00z6Hri8/видео.html
Thats the video where we finished the job up.
Thanks for taking the time to watch!
@@Tree_Boss ive ran a rotortiller over some after we pulled it up by the roots, soaked the ground with round up ran the rotortiller over it the next day again graded smooth and laid sod down 4 days later. 4 months later damn Bamboo was popping up again lol. Agree its a pain in the ass to get rid of
