Following my breakup with Kristina, I needed to get away from everything and everyone for a bit. Life in Kabalana is small, we kept bumping into each other almost daily, go to the same grocery store, and have the same friends.
So I decided to take a trip to Hikkaduwa Beach just an hour away. It's normally a busy beach town filled with tourists from Russia and Europe, but this year in the start of 2021, it's quiet and peaceful. This is A Week in Hikkaduwa Beach | Sri Lanka.

Hey Johnny, head onwards to Posidon Diving School and and just before you will find a place called SIRINIVASA or Garden by the Sea, it is my ancestral house. The back garden opens onto the famous coral reef of Hikkaduwa. My cousin runs the place. I'm sure you will love it.
Are you by any chance related to Mr V Kirthisinghe who was a teacher at Ananda. He was y Physics teacher.
Good to get a break and change of scenery, not possible for a lot of us but glad to see a snapshot of the paradise we are missing, nice view.

2 things I noticed,
1. They were using re-usable straws- Excellent, it will good for the nature.
2. Using Araliya (Frangipani or Temple Tree- Plumaria acutifolia ) is used as a decoration/ garnish on the fruit platter. This, I think, is not a good practice as the sap of this plant is known to be toxic. Please refer any suitable person for further info.

Hi Johnny, Wonderful to see how much you enjoy your time in Sri Lanka ! I've been in Hikkaduwa 28 years ago . Yes it was totally different. Since then I've traveled through the whole country. If I would be there now, I would go to the mountains (as last year same time ) because it's now the best time of the year to go there . No, of course not Ella 😕 or Nuwara eliya! Are you allowed to travel to other parts of the country (corona)? Why not leave the common tourists tracks and go for some adventure? To leave the tourists tracks can save you a lot of your budget. Tell me if I can help you ! Have a wonderful day !

Jack fruit price, seems to be reasonable in your area. In Colombo city and surround areas 1/4 of the similar piece costs 100 Rs. But in Rural areas, big full Jack fruit can buy for less than 500 Rs
