Even before the woman got all sideways I was thinking Conor seemed so much more relaxed and socialable and natural. It's so awesome and great to see this version of himself lately bc we all know that the press before a record release is the most painstaking process for him. I love seeing his growth, especially at this stage in life. It gives me great hope for myself that my thirties might finally produce a human being who's more at ease. :)
It was a rather revealing interview. I had never heard Conor talk about his studio with Mike in Omaha (cool how their houses are attached!) and his apartment in New York. He also talked about Saddle Creek Records updates which was something that I was wondering about too.
Don't understand all the complaining. She is not a journalist, she's a radio presenter. She make some mistakes, but the lack of preparation leads to some funny questions. So it was an interview for the casual radio listerners.
Probably the most horrendous interview ever conducted with Conor. This woman was literally lost for any sort of quizzical intelligence to give him and the awkward-ness of it was unbearable....... Lucky he isn't a moody musician and remained polite otherwise they would of tore this interviewer to pieces....
Sorry guys! But I always have to look at the paper cup and the pendulous tea lable on a string. Man, I really have to concentrate on what's important! What about you?
I love how she's pretending to be such a huge fan and has obviously only listened to the album like once (maybe) before the interview. She kept saying "it's Conor Oberst" every other minute, almost as if she was trying to make sure she remembered herself. Fucking ridiculous and pretty insulting to Conor. He handled it with grace though!
My right ear loved this

"You should write your own...script."
"yeah, I know"
"How long have you worked at this station?"
"Just a few minutes -"
Hahaha... I remember that interview!
His smile got to me....
I love ❤️ Conor last two albums, I'm hopping to see him live when he tours for his most recent album.

Terrible interview though Conor handled it about as well as he could have. His reaction to her John Prine/Bonnie Raitt spill was hilarious.

This woman had no clue who she was interviewing, she even says " I liked that one song, where did I put my notes?". Embarrassing.
