At 7:17 it’s simple math just line up 644 over 238 and just add them you didn’t have to use 10 brain cells to do 644+238 THAT WHAT YOU CALL SIMPLE
When you're doing mental math quick, or don't have your phone, it helps to work with easier numbers and then take back what you borrowed to do it.
There's an even easier way to do the % math in the video too: For 80%, just double your number to get 200%, then move the decimal point one spot to the left to get 20%. Now if you subtract that from the original, you'll get 80%. If you needed 4%, you could multiply by 4 and then move the decimal point two to the left.
The main idea is to break up the big problem into smaller, easier pieces, so you can apply it to more than just % problems too!
Edit: I say this is easier than the one in the video because if you tried their way with anything less "neat and tidy" than what they showed, it'd be hard to do. Take 80% of 133 for example: you'd have to do 13.3 x 8 = 106.4 if you were doing it that way.

First we can add 6+2 which is 8.
Then we can add 4+3 which is 7.
Then we can add 4+8 which is 12.
Thats over obviously. So we have to add. 7+1 = 8 0+2 = 2.
Which gives us 882.
if you dont get the last part the 8 from 6+2 is 800.
