A lot of people don’t understand that a characters speed in dragon ball often compares to the speed of their blasts. This is because we have numerous examples of characters reacting to and slapping away blasts from other characters. Piccolo at the beginning of just dragon Ball z, shot the moon out of the sky in a couple of panels. Even if we say that it took a full 48 seconds to get to the moon (which is ridiculous because piccolo didn’t move) we find that the blast had to be moving at around 8000 miles per second. Piccolo did this before he started training, when he was weaker than even raditz, who only had a power level of about 1500. Not to mention, that raditz was actually reacting to and dodgin his blasts. Once you get to that point, it has been shown by goku that the power level is completely linear, as while his power level was normally 8000, it was 16000 when multiplied by Kaio-Ken times 2. So already we have goku being 5.3 times that speed in his base during the saiyan saga. His power level when he first goes super saiyan is 150 million. Literally 100,000 times raditz, and therefore at least 100,000 times his speed. 8000 mps x 100000 = 800000000 miles per second. To give you an idea of how ludicrously fast this blast is, the circumference of the earth is 24,901 miles. The blast would be able to circle around the earth over 32 000 times in one second. To those who say that goku and vegeta wouldn’t be able to react to his blast, here is him reacting to and catching his own Kamehameha,

A lot of people don’t understand that a characters speed in dragon ball often compares to the speed of their blasts. This is because we have numerous examples of characters reacting to and slapping away blasts from other characters. Piccolo at the beginning of just dragon Ball z, shot the moon out of the sky in a couple of panels. Even if we say that it took a full 48 seconds to get to the moon (which is ridiculous because piccolo didn’t move) we find that the blast had to be moving at around 8000 miles per second. Piccolo did this before he started training, when he was weaker than even raditz, who only had a power level of about 1500. Not to mention, that raditz was actually reacting to and dodgin his blasts. Once you get to that point, it has been shown by goku that the power level is completely linear, as while his power level was normally 8000, it was 16000 when multiplied by Kaio-Ken times 2. So already we have goku being 5.3 times that speed in his base during the saiyan saga. His power level when he first goes super saiyan is 150 million. Literally 100,000 times raditz, and therefore at least 100,000 times his speed. 8000 mps x 100000 = 800000000 miles per second. To give you an idea of how ludicrously fast this blast is, the circumference of the earth is 24,901 miles. The blast would be able to circle around the earth over 32 000 times in one second. To those who say that goku and vegeta wouldn’t be able to react to his blast, here is him reacting to and catching his own Kamehameha,
