This perfectly explains why uk rental karting is so great. I assume they pulled up to a random ish race and a nurburgring race winner and formula driver were not even top in quali.
I must say your videos are really good and well structured. You explain the videos well and all your previous videos have really good tips to get faster. I've learned from that and now I've become much faster at Go Karting and now I'm taking part in the National Championship this year. I'm inspired by you Cameron. Keep us the work!
0:33 70 mph? Aren't those karts using Junior rotax engines? Those engines in competition karts top out at around 65-70 mph, with the senior/unrestricted engine maxing out around 75ish. In a heavy rental I don't think it could go over 60. Still very fast but not as fast as advertised.
I've definitely clocked over 60mph in these karts at a different track by GPS, but we ended up on the slower version of this track so definitely short of 70mph today.
Yep, on average you were going around 52 mph down the back straight (just over 82.5 on the speedometer). Fastest I've found online for this track is 90kph/56 mph. Similar speeds as well at Sandown. Still not the 70 mentioned but extremely fast for a rental. Just about as fast on the straights as competition LO206 karts, which is a bit surprising despite 206 being 4-stroke. I thought the much lighter weight would make up for the engine power difference. Guess not. Wonder how they would compare over a whole lap. Hopefully this doesn't sound too annoying or pompus. I'm just a nerd who likes delving into car/kart performance lol. @@CameronDasRacing
They definitely don’t do near 70mph, the highest speed I’ve got out of these karts is around 55mph tracked by gps on my GoPro and using racechrono, highly doubt they do above 60mph either it’s just a marketing ploy
How the flipperdy dee do you only have 600k subs this is a like 2 3 mil sub channel keep it up ❤ also you should try the go karting in the uk where it’s 150 miles an hour
Cameron: "I'll try to make my stint shorter to minimize the damage my lap times cause" Also Cameron: "Buy my course to learn how to be fast in a rental kart" 😂
Hahah tru…well the example I always give is when I took my race engineer karting in Valencia. He knew way more about car physics and vehicle dynamics than I do and was a master at explaining driving concepts, but I was still 4 seconds a lap faster on track. Even my manager was 1 second faster than the engineer. Point is that knowledge and experience are two different things, and I still have to practice before high level events to have winning pace. I’ve spent the last 6 months building the course instead of training so yes, I’m very consistent at the moment lol
@@CameronDasRacing This is very true and I don't doubt the self-deprecating comments about your lap times were made in jest considering they were quite good 😁
@@CameronDasRacingeven F1 drivers have coaches. The coaches aren’t as fast - but their purpose is to get the most out of the driver and use their experience to maximise performance of others.
I can't believe you are able to announce your course while pushing the kart that hard ! I can't even breathe properly when I'm pushing the kart, imagine speaking to the camera ! ahahah
Me: Huh, I wonder why Cam hasn't won one of these before... Cameron: Yeah so while I'm in the middle of this race and should be locked in right now, allow me to shamelessly plug my racing e-course real quick.
Good Result Cam! Glad to know all the tape Brad borrowed didnt weigh you guys down too much 🤣 Shame you had to make it look like we got disqualified though at 1:10 ... 😔 Bit naughty... Just for clarification, i was requesting to know how far over the limit we were after practice, but they werent really understanding me, hence the hand signals.

Hi, i have been watching your content for a while and i have been thinking, do you make money from these kart races? Btw i absolutely love your content and you are the reason i started kart racing. Keep up the good work❤
No it's not against the rules (at least for this race). I've seen people use them before. Just adds cost and complexity, but I tested it with AirPod Pros (for noise cancellation) and Discord recently... Works great!

I don't really get the "working together"' to catch up to the pack, like what do you mean by that? Catch eachothers slipstream and go like that or just not battling? Or let the faster one through so you don't lose too much time?
Slipstream/ bump pushing helps in karting. Think of it how nascar will bump draft to catch up. It’s the same theory. Typically you’ll tap your helmet to signal the person you just passed to work together and do this so you can catch up. Once you’ve made it to the leader or whoever’s ahead, it’s fair game.
Yeah “work with me” means basically: Don’t fight me for no reason, as we have a chance to catch the next group of you stick in my tow instead. If the person behind also bump drafts you, then even better.
Woah! Nurburgring driver cool! First view? Damn this compatible karting is insane this looks really fun! Love ya Cam the vids are so fun to watch! Keep it up man! These karts are waaaay faster and 2 stroke? Those are fast Plz pin Cameron?
I honestly can't get why there is a minimum driver weight. Like you can just add 15 to 20 kilos. If your allowed to take extra weight with extra belast it makes sence to me
The minimum weight is to try and keep the field at as similar a pace as possible. This is important because say a 14 year old went against a 26 year old, both have no experience, the 14 weighs A LOT less (in general) which means that he will be quicker off the bat, just because less weight means the wheels have less weight pushing on them, less friction, means moving quicker. So in general, you really don’t want ballast on the kart, because it makes you slower no matter the conditions; other than the wet, because you need less wheel spin, and more weight pushing the wheels into the track, allowing for more grip. So in general, the less weight on the kart the quicker you go
Nice video, However, how does a f3 driver not be able to win a kart race? I assumed f3 was a higher league? Surely the level of driving in the local U.K karting scene cant be that good that a f3 driver cant win a race, or else why dont we see lots of U.K drivers in f3 etc
@@CameronDasRacing umh..yeah...lol...good video anyways :) I would love to see more confidence from you. Be humble if its in your nature, but once you put that race suit, toss it out. Switch to a daemon, hungry to win even if its rental carting. I know it sucks when you don't win and you feel invested so much, in this swinging all out and missing a punch kinda feeling, but that's the beauty of it. Just keep swinging. But you already know all that, so just a friendly reminder. Wish all your plans come true man
All these supposed expert top kart drivers constantly getting salty about having to pass back markers is just too funny. Everyone in the podium spots will have to deal with and if you can't pass them maybe you are not as good as you think?
sorry but taking your hands off the steering wheel to aid acceleration is just nonsensical. Yeh if you have the steering jacked on full lock, yes due to the caster you won’t have maximum rear tyre contact, but at minor steering angles like you were it won’t do a thing, just unnecessarily dangerous and risky
