Adult turtles molt twice a year to get rid of unwanted growing things. Be careful about removing barnacles. You can make holes in the turtles protective shell. By all means cut away any plastic or netting, and of course juveniles, which molt 6 x a year can be over whelmed. But a few barnacles are not a problem, and better for the animal than unpracticed but well meaning amateurs banging on their armor. Those seals are from group of people in Nambia...and they are SEALS not SEA LIONS. I don't know about you Ella.

why not just release those baby turtle next to the ocean shore instead making them climb all that distance
They need to be released on the beach they were hatched on so they know where to return when it’s their time to procreate.
